Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEE WHEN THIS IS GOING TOT BE TRUTH:

We want to say this: Bytecoin was created for people and we are working our fingers to the bone to make Bytecoin known to everyone as a cup of coffee in the morning, comfortable as Pullman car, reliable as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's battleship, yet fast and maneuverable as clipper with elite Chinese tea steered by noble but hungry freebooters.

Nowadays I can see that BCN is growing again and this make me believe in a good future! I've already invested in BCN and going to invest a lot more as BCN is more than a coin - it is a kind of new vision on the future on crypto currency and it has a little correlation with BTC unlike other coins which make them influenced from BTC

There is a niche on the altcoin market for totally anonymous coin, and a niche for Litecoin replacement, as a back-up coin to Bitcoin. I believe that BCN is the most conceptually right solution for both of that niches!

I agree with you. All other altcoins on the market are just not serios solutions, except some of Cryptonote coins. BCN is now leading coin of Cryptonote family

editors changed their mind Smiley there is also a PDF version that you can purchase via Nxt Marketplace for 1 USD: https://nxtforum.org/ebooks/the-mysteries-and-puzzles-behind-the-cryptonote-technology-(theses)/ (view at http://76.176.198.6/market/ ) - it is interesting that it is really possible to buy and sell books by using Nxt blockchain Smiley

Who even buys books nowadays? In most cases, you can download them for free

The numbers come from the downloads of the software I believe, not the reddit forum or the new forum.
The fact that the numbers of downloads is mean more than a real people activity gives us a lot of thoughts. It is bad for me that I'm a member of community which is not user-oriented.

You can start as much threads as you want but the only thing that you get as a result is Monero becoming more unclear.

Why a sudden burst from a total stranger?

Why not? If I'm not a hero member does it means that I can't invest my money into some altcoins? Be polite please.

Bitcom is a great idea for future international commerce. Unfortunately before it can happen, every country wants to manage this their own way will make this Bitcom totally useless due to unmanageable regulation overheads.

I really liked this ‘web of trust’ because Facebook account gives the opportunity to see the list of your friends, who are using this program

Why the coins name was changed? Devs wanted to clean the reputation? Was there an objective reason?

Several of the stakeholders felt the new name was a better marketing vehicle and in addition the old name had been heavily cyber squatted. Two votes were held first on IRC and second on this forum. Both votes were in favor of the change.

When did the coin name change?

It was launched on April 18, 2014. IMO we can call this currency a youngster in comparison with Bitcoin.

Changing the coin’s name was an attempt to clean its reputation a bit, don't be so naive. Monero devs are very cunning.

IMO the main drawback of Monero is their team because they often complain about other coins’ faults instead of making their own coin better.

I hope zero knowledge proofs can come in handy here.

No, this particular situation is much worse in cryptonight currencies. The economy is totally blinded and you can't prove anything. This is by design.

Maybe in how BCN/Monero/cash is proposed in the white paper (not sure), but isnt "cryptonight knowledge proof" the concept of prooving that computation (or part thereof) has happened or that some information is included in a particular data set, whithout revealing any other part of information, pertaining to this computation/data set. Like being able to proof your Nationality with your digitized and encrypted passport that you run through a cryptonight knowledge script which produces this proof, while keeping all other information in it secret. Think of it like showing your Nationality in your real passport to someone, while covering all other fields with your fingers.

A primary feature of Bitcoin is that a payer can prove via the blockchain that a payment was sent. With all this CryptoNote shit ring signatures, how can I prove that I sent you Verde or Monero or Bytecoin or what in the event of a dispute?

Something similar was raised for BCN as well. I'd say one practical way to overcome this is through additional avenues of trust between yourself and the party you're sending to. I can see the full anonymous coins like DRK and BCN work best when they are transacted in person, so both parties can verify each other and walk away. Someone also raised the possibility of using darksend to send to a new wallet, then transact without darksend and do the same in reverse on the other side. Not sure whether this could apply for Verde as well.

I hope cryptonight knowledge proofs can come in handy here.

Hello everyone,

I have an i7 intel quad core processor and an AMD Radeon HD 4850 series graphics card...I am interested in giving bitcoin mining a go but dont know what the best options for hardware would be for my computer, also noted..i do not pay for electricity. any suggestions?

I suggest you do some forum reading as this has been asked....ohhhh.....100 times in the past month alone. All you need to know and then some is already posted for your viewing pleasure.

If you aren't bothered, let me explain.
Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmOzih6I1zs
Bitcoin mining is dead for people like you.

Indeed, it's to late to start mining bitcoin.
I would suggest you to try mining altcoin. There're thousands of them - all you need is to choose the most interesting for you
