Re: Noob here. is it still worth mining?

If you want to make a lot of money off it fast then forget about it. You can make a few pennies here and there but don't expect to get rich of this.

I do it more for a hobby. Research some coins that may interest you. See if they have potential to go somewhere in the future. You may want to invest something into it after doing your research.  I look for ones that are on the extreme cheap side atm

+1

Mining isn't for profit unless you've got free energy or the price of your coin(s) will increase considerably. Mining is to protect the blockchain, processing transactions. So if you're only for profit, you better use FIAT to buy coins. If you want to support the coin you like, go ahead.

Thank you. So you're saying Scrypt is useless now and the ASIC chips are taking over dogecoin now too.

Seems my only option is to mine something new other people want and get paid in dogecoin.

That already happened more than 1 year ago.

You might want to use Multipools with automatic conversion. You mine different altcoins and the pool sells them and buys Doge for you.

http://hashpower.co/

Or use Nicehash, get paid in BTC and buy Doge yourself

The following wallets have been opened for withdrawals:
* Clams

Time to get them out, in case someone still has some CLAM sitting there
They realised thats the only coin worth to have so they have the rest locked.

Are they allowing deposits to bitcoin still? If yes, is it possible to deposit bitcoin, buy CLAMS and withdraw them? I don't think so. What are the new features did CLAMs added recently? This is a huge thread, I can't read it all at this time.

Cryptsy is dead. No more trading, they stopped everything and only partly open certain altcoin wallets for withdrawals.

Even with pool mining. Is it just not worth it?

I tried coinking.io mining pool. Did not seem to do much....

I've got new workstation graphics nvidia gtx 970 and latest i7.

Is that not enough to mine dogecoin anymore?

Does anyone know how to get dogecoin?

I really want dogecoin just because it's dogecoin.

The entire list of supported pools is 90% 404'd

what happened guys???

Can anyone please give a new enthusiast some friendly advice?

Thank you.  Grin

Since Doge is merge mined with LTC, network hashrate and difficulty went up considerably. You won't get a share that has any value with GPU/CPU (same as you would mine LTC). If you have an ASIC, check the LTC pools. Otherwise you would do much better mining GPU friendly coins and buy Doge with your earnings.
What coins can you mine with your GPU? There are many threads in this section to it's useless to repeat it over and over.

btw, Coinking isn't a good choice currently.

Which pool? Looking for a new one I am.

As a Scrypt miner (don't like auto conversion to BTC, prefer get payouts in altcoins) I recommend those pools:
https://hash-to-coins.com
https://www.ipominer.com/
http://tompool.org (seems to be down in this moment)
https://www.scryptpool.com (as soon as Bejjan has fixed the pools)

Coinking doesn't seem to be an alternative currently.

I blames the bastard who stole the money. Not Cryptsy

Really? It seems they acted negligently in a way that is unacceptable. When dealing with clients funds, you need to do what you can to protect those funds.

Hi,
We are also using coinwallet service for XQN.
You can try send operator a PM here on forum, usualy fast response and good stable service.

IW

I asked the same question several time, but no one was really able to share experiences.

Asking the operator is a good idea in general, but I doubt he would state "Yeah, the plan is to run away with your coins when I collected enough of them.
So it would be great to have some reports from users with funds on the site for more than a few days. After all that scams, it' better to be more careful when giving away control over your coins.

BitCoin                   ~5.5
WorldCoin              6024
ZetaCoin              30036
LiteCoin                       8
Dogecoin            386997
MN(Mining CT)          600

so total to calculate ~ 10 BTC

I still hope that they will return

Ouch, that hurts. Sorry for you.
Why did you keep so many coins on there, pool earnings?

part of it, but big one... was part of the money i allocate to upgrade some of the servers, now that need to wait.

Wow. Bit risky but I guess you know that yourself...good luck getting your funds back, although I don't think there's much hope.

Re: The Ins and Outs of Litecoin Mining Today...
by

Interesting thoughts. Anyway, for Litecoin the same is valid as for Bitcoin: It's dominated by huge farms with mostly low-priced (maybe even free) energy. Until you want to mine 0.00x LTC per day with low hashrate devices, it might probably be better to mine other altcoins and either sell them immediately (for BTC, buying LTC with them) or keep them and sell at better prices. Even if, due to certain factors, the price won't increase in general for some time, there are still pumpers who will play the pump & dump game.

Check this thread, many options available
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1318921.0

For SHA256 and CPU, Nicehash is an option, too. Or do some research and find a coin you like. Don't bother to ask for the most profitable coin, no one can give a serious answer (as there simply is no single answer).

Hello XXX members,

there's a new exchange that claims to provide a new "home" for Cryptsy-only coins.
Please register an account and vote for XXX listing, would be great to have a new exchange after Cryptsy died.

so the coins you add are the ones that you heavily mined, so you always have a market to dump on people.

Conflict of interest much?

Is anyone forced to buy coins? Does a trader/buyer complain when the price on one exchange goes down due to dumping coins, while you can sell higher on other exchanges? What about arbitrage trades? Volume isn't important (no matter if dumping or regular trading)?

What's the reason for your causeless insinuations?

Although NOTE is already listed on many exchanges, I'd like to suggest SafeCex as Cryptsy replacement. It's a new exchange, the former operator of yaamp mining pool in involved. They want to provide a new "home" for PoW and Cryptsy-only coins, hashpower.co Multipool will be connected to sell/trade mined coins. I think it's worth giving these guys a try.

We probably need a good replacement for Cryptsy. I'll take a look at these guys and see if I can find information on their company.

You can also contact yaamp, he was very friendly and replied all questions very detailed.

We are getting some helpful information to our reward email and want to thank all who are helping to find the culprit.  The vast majority of our users want the Cryptsy exchange to continue operating.

Many are suggesting other options other than the 3 mentioned above:

4. Spread the loss to all users in the system and allow trades to continue.
