The app looks really nice! I wonder if you could comment on the business model? I would have expected a paid version or in-app-purchases for pro features.
So this is separate from the Backer app? Because the announcement says that Backer projects can be funded through either Bitcoin or credit card.
You missed one important word, features. Backer only lets you fund THEIR projects.
I hate app.net and personally think it's a scam. Wtf would I pay for a Twitter clone. These people have delusions of grandeur and a great marketing guy.
No, you can fund features of any project. Btw, why so much hate? You don't have to use it or pay for it (there are free accounts as well).
@amincd: yes, this is the first backer project and it's about BTC payments of app.net subscriptions.

I do not understand the MtGox strategy, too. Either they have really big technical issues or there are legal issues. I think they really loose a lot of money by not adding more coins.
As a newbie I wanted to see some transactions in my wallet without spending money on an exchange. Just to get a feeling how this bitcoin thing is working.
Afer playing around with various sites I would say bitvisitor is the only one that is working reliable and is easy to understand (e.g. not overloaded with ads etc.):

I guess several 100k BTC are lost forever.
I remember this story: "In July 2011, the operator of Bitomat, the third largest bitcoin exchange, announced that he lost access to his wallet.dat file with about 17,000 bitcoins (roughly equivalent to 220,000 USD at that time). He announced that he would sell the service for the missing amount, aiming to use funds from the sale to refund his customers."
