If you pay attention to big announcements, new technology coming out and services adopting a coin as a new payment method,
you can (possibly) get out in front of a coin before it hits big.
But its a lot of work, and you have to put in your research.
Diversifying your funds into a couple coins probably helps in case one of them hits it big.
(Unless you have some hot tip/ inside information - but then share it with usas well:))

Actually, many banks are aspiring to break Bitcoin and of course, there is a big support from their governments. As well, it is very unfortunate that they are always attacking this currency, but the only reason is the financial losses and the widespread economic crisis in many countries and due to there is a decrease in the value of their currencies (FIAT).
As a matter of fact, the digital currencies and especially "Bitcoin" have become more successful than before, and these currencies are always criticized from many governments (Banks) because  they are not beneficiaries of financial transactions and there has been an increase in the number of  cryptocurrencies users.
In fact,  I think that the continuation of Bitcoin development and other currencies  will lead to recognition from all governments.

According to Tim (CEO of iconomi Team) - the new AND FINAL release date of the platform will be on 1/09/2017.
So basically you can keep being calm and relaxed , no need to rush \ FOMO and so on.
Just sell your ICN , invest in something else , and rebuy again arround august or july.

Never store your tokens (or at least not all of them) in a place where you dont have full control of.
Even if the exchange has good feedbacks, positive reviews , top security and so on  - You still might loose your tokens or account even if its not the exchange's fault.
One day it can be hacked , or one day they even might decide to run to the bahamas with everybody's tokens.
You just never know what might happen.
