Re: Bitmain Doubles Price for S9

So what? you must not have been mining for a while. It's a double sided commodity, both have cycles of appreciation and depreciation. If you don't understand this, mining isn't for you, buying and hodlin' is.

I commend Bitmain for seeing a 3rd party resale market on used items at 3x their MSRP , and only 2x the price.

Re: Spoondoolies SP30 Firmware troubles
by

Hello,
I bought 7 Spoondoolies SP30's off ebay and they still had the passwords set so the person I bought them from gave me a link to the firmare with instructions to flash the machines with it. .put firmware on SD card with Win32DiskImager. 2. Put SD in miner, hook up network cable, then plug in miner. With in 2-5min lights by network cable will flash amber and green.3. Wait about 15 min for it to put in firmware then unplug miner 4. wait 1 min then remove SD card then power up machine.....OK I did all this and it went as described but once I finished and repowered it now will power up, but that's it won't even show on my DHCP list. I tried to do it again, but now the green and amber lights won't flash. Any ideals? Thanks

give it 30 min , might be a weird flash to a failing mmc. might be time to run an SD boot image.

So let me get this straight.  They have proven the speeds and even have pictures of the unit, which means it has already been developed and the majority of the costs have been paid.  So why do we have to wait until end of September for shipping to start?  Will Inno just be mining with the units for 2 months and sitting on our money?

At least its nice to see someone finally blow Bitmain out of the water.  Hopefully the price won't be a disappointment.

Scheduling to get new ASIC wafers ... there are only so many foundries that do this work, so everyone at one point or another, gets in line. take that and testing before shipping out 1000s of units across the pond, and you have the logistics of Sept.

Looks awesome! I'd definitely like to help test. I have a TB250 and Z97 board I could test it on.

great work , moving the M2 -> USB is so choice.

They posted in Twitter more about this miner.
Miner looks pretty much the same as in the previous CAD drawing but there is no handle on top to carry the miner around  Cheesy

BW 28nm Litecoin Miner. Please contact BW for details.

At minimum , the prospect of using short 6 Pin PCI off older rev HP1200 breakouts to the top jacks could allow for a neat "bundle". Not surprised to see more Scrypt , the BitMain sales were off the chart.

Trading with btc - eth, I buy too high ( 0,082 ) and today I sell all on 0,077. Before that trade btc - ripple ( xrp ), make mistake buy 0,0002150 so today I sell with price 0,0001200. I decide to sell all because my patience is finish. I have loss almost 40% from my money, my question is simple ................. stop or continue?

you stop. you've already broken all the rules, as you're trading with emotion. Neither Rome nor fortunes were built in a day.

Also this is Ebangs first mining chip and it has not been on the market very long. On something as complicated as in house design of an ASIC the chances of them being the best/most efficient on the first try is most likely pretty low.

while the HTTPS broken admin in Chinese was a PITA , after setup Ebang pose 0 problem. Consistent run times for ages now.

I have over 100 T9s running with zero failures so far. They clown on the S9 for reliability. IMO the efficiency trade-off is well worth it since its likely an S9 wont run problem free until you reach ROI and it looks like these T9s will.

100% , they are the rock to the S9.

It's a great setup... I think OP wants way to much for it

I'm curious how you arrived at that bizarre conclusion.

How is it 'bazaar' when you can build the set up minus the case for roughly 1500$ used ( high balling ), so roughly $75,000.  Sure, you saved time setting up, but $50,000 for your time and plus it's "used"...  the price on 380 are roughly $100-110 used, MSI board which allows you the 8 cards is used around $100 new $149 and EVGA 1300 are cheap because people bought them by the BOAT loads for miners... I would like to know how you justify charging that much?  Because some company tries to sell these machines to new people that don't do research ( which is their target ) But you're on a ( probably the most known ) forum for mining and you toss that number out here?  These machines are 3000 USD ( again rip off, no even semi educacted miner would pay that )  I just don't see how you can coe to the conclusion of " potential " earning to charge that much
Can you show the hardware " far exceeding " $1500 value mark?
It is a great setup... But I think more realistic price offer would be $75,000

Then build some. Why in the world would anyone sell something for less than 5 months ROI at any point? "Price should really be' discussions are so absolutely useless for this very reason.

bit amazing isn't it .... comical assumptions like EVGA1300s when the systems run on 1050s ... bit hard for people to reconcile value when operating on bad data sets. with ETH @ 50 , these dual mining monsters are chugging along. they are all on ethOS 1.2.0 / claymore , dual mining. less than .5% GPU RMA issues on a deployment this big. I could go on, but than someone would educate me on density and heat management.

@jstefanop - Blue Man speaks very highly of you, I'd love to open some dialog out West about what you're.

Re: Bitmain Ant Miners
by

BU vs CORE should have ZERO effect on any existing antminer - it's still the same SHA256 protocal that the miner is processing.

I'm also 100% certain that the S9/T9/R4 at least have already updated the controller software to support BU *IF* it actually DID require such a change, since AntPool has decided to support BU.

not that this thread is a possible future , but with BMMiner , one could certainly make a preference set / blacklist. Bitmain won't do that though, they may have taken a position, but they won't forgo profit

Wait! I just found something that might be better:

http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=488

- Stackable
- ATX
- 12.2 inch gpus
- fans included (well they´re probably weak but at least they already thought about a cooling solution / air flow...)

Right now I´m investigating further... (how many gpus will fit etc...)

Only a board like the Biostar GT7 which has 4 physical slots could work in a case like this. And this case has 7 PCIe slots so a maximum of 3 cards. You need something with 8+ slots. And dont worry about stackable.

lol .. no. Tyan case and mobo , 8 GPU just fine.

The best thing to do now is to sit quite and hold your coins and have a close watch on the price movement and if you have excess cash then you can buy some coins now as this is a great price to buy bitcoins and sell them once it gets higher in coming days.

buy buy buy ... any time it touches 900-950 , buy buy buy

I am guessing these are 2GB since nobody would be selling any ETH miners at a time like this...

Pretty much right

Sometimes skeptics miss good deals thinking that no good deals exist. I'm going to guess this miner is getting ready to buy a lot of something else. But I'm just making wild guesses.

There hasn't been any flashing involved. They all four just stopped connecting to my pool at the same time in the middle of the night.

turn off, power on 1 card at a time, adding one card after each boot. Should be fine after.

or reflash ( same version or newer ) + reset , and restart never disconnecting.

we've seen this from time to time.

Re: Someone on Ebay offering 10 Bitmain S9's & 10 Bitmain T9's
by
tntdgcr
on 06/02/2017, 20:56:32 UTC
Well if he sells you an Antminer S9 and it breaks, you can get a full refund in 6 months if you pay by Paypal. He will even have to pay shipping both ways. Even if the doesn't break, difficulty can quadruple in 6 months and you can get a full refund.

If you pay cash, bank deposit, btc, then they are safe against refunds or exchanges which the S9 has a huge probability of failure.

Alot of auctions on eBay are like this, they were probably burnt before and don't want to take that risk again. So they only accept methods that are non-refundable, but I am sure they will ship you the miner if you paid.

There's guys that even mine miners to death and return them or return bricks to the seller, and in most cases the seller can't do anything about it. It makes sense for these people to price things higher as they're going through such risks constantly. Of course like you just said there's also guys that scam, but going with a trusted buyer AND USING ESCROW can prevent such risks on your side if you choose to buy with bitcoin.

so true. the amount of mining fraud among some of the new small consumers is amazing to me.

Hey all, does anyone know if you can use an S7 fan to replace a busted S9 fan? thanks in advance
Yes if you have a spare 4300 rpm fan, you can use that to replace the 4300rpm S9 fan (but not the 6000rpm one).

front or back fan ? I have loads of front fans, want to swap for some back fans. ( yes , I know extension cables exist, extra fluff, non ideal for bulk )
