Re: Long Term Invests
by

Why does it seem like no-one understands the concept of "long term investments". Long term is not 1 month or even 6 months. Think about 2 or 3 years, will your investment still be relevant, will it be mass marketed?

You simply made a mistake which will in turn be a life lesson. Do not invest more than your willing to lose, and don't expect "easy money". Just leave it to recover and move on.

Re: 56% of ICOs fail and it's OK

What is the defintion of fail? I wouldn't have even thought we had gotten to the stage where startups in Crypto have collapsed. I know many have had no progress, but they are able to string investors along for 12-18 months before abandoning.

Re: What’s happening to today’s ICOs
by

It was abundantly clear that scammers were taking advantage of the hot market and newbie investors and pedling off their rubbish projects as the next best thing. This caused big changes in the real world (KYC, etc.) making it harder for genuine projects and generally more expensive and less rewarding.

False link or not, why are you entering your private keys and/or addresses? The only time should be when you are sending, no-one needs your private key to send Crypto.

The few months have shown me just how experienced the average Crypto holder is. You made 4-10x profit last year and then abandon ship when it drops 70%?

Re: Guideline before you go into an ICO
by

I think people need to go into ICO's with the same attitude as they do with anything in life. There are dodgy people who are looking to prey on people and take their money with any means, and currently ICO's are a good way for them. Don't just invest based on the idea, actually do some research.

I am confused, why are you dragging his father into it? It's almost like your asking his daddy to give him a smack because he won't talk to you.
It's clear he is not going to respond to you and neither is his father (in any constructive manner), your going to have to try another method.

I don't know how you managed to acquire so many shitcoins, I can only assume you were digging in hope of finding something that would go 1000x or something. If they were good picks I would have said to keep them as now is not a good time to do it, but in this case it's an exception.

Re: Why Waves is always low?

Waves is a little undervalued, but not hugely IMO. It probably should be valued about 2x what it currently is and I would probably blame lack of penetration with their marketing and updates within the crypto industry. There doesn't really seem to be a core user group, just lots of passive users and investors.

Re: Deeponion is UNSTOPPABLE!
by
toddy47
on 28/02/2018, 08:04:13 UTC
I think Deeponioin has a lot of potential.  Privacy coins will become more desirable as people begin to realize bitcoin isn't as anonymous as they once believed.  This is one of my favorites, and could end up #1 or 2 as long as the team stays on task and continues to expand.

Exactly my thought. In the old days of the onion, Bitcoin wasn't our best choice, it was the only one and we thought it was safe and anonymous. As more and more altcoins surface, people are realizing Bitcoin is actually not that safe and looking for better options. Deeponion can be that better option. Don't be afraid of this drop, this one is worth keeping an eye on.

Amazing, it's been that long and they still haven't recovered it for you? It literally took 10x longer to verify the signed message than it would to force password reset to your new email address.

Certainly will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the web wallet, while it brings the coin closer to casual users and makes it generally easier to access, it kind of defeats the purpose of a privacy coin when you rely on an external wallet which you haven't got as much control over.

Re: Situation of the whole market bitcoin February 28/2:
by
toddy47
on 28/02/2018, 07:56:21 UTC
Situation of the whole market bitcoin February 28/2:
Bitcoin (BTC) has slowed but rose to 3.79% during the 24 hours with a current trading value of $ 10,812.50.

Of the 10 largest currencies, IOTA has seen the biggest change in 8.21% in the past 24 hours, and is currently trading at $ 2.04.
Some other altcoins are growing. NEO rose 7.24%, trading at $ 144.98 at the time of press, while Ethereum (ETH) showed a small growth of 1.51% during the 24 hour period.

In contrast, some altcoins are red. Ripple (XRP), Litecoin (LTC) and Cardano (ADA) decreased by 0.24, 2.15, and 1.11%, respectively.

Total market capitalization was more than $ 460 billion after a small net sell yesterday at $ 420 billion.

The average bitcoin transaction fee for several months is about $ 2.50 per transaction, which can contribute to the growth of cryptocurrency in the past few days.

Does bitcoin increase?
I believe bitcoin will soon roll $ 1 million!
I don't know how you can call $1 Million from the current position. The market's have definately normalized and we could potentially see steady growth in Bitcoin at a more natural rate, but I wouldn't say anything until Bitcoin returns back to it's at all high.

Re: Top Privacy Coin of 2018?
by
toddy47
on 15/02/2018, 06:47:15 UTC
The definition of "top" varies greatly person to person or even in the context it is used in.
Monero has been up and until now the king, so it's their crown to lose.
If we are talking biggest gainer, I don't think there is any doubt that DeepOnion will breakthrough, particularly after the airdrop has concluded and has been listed on a big exchange.
If the question is regarding technology or anonymity, most from the list provide it, but in different ways and at this stage it is difficult to have a definitive answer, especially as they are constantly progressing further into greater anonymity.

by

Well for the most part, we got to see a glimpse into the future a few weeks ago before the market crashed. I am sure DeepOnion won't take long to return to it's ATH (many upcoming and recent releases) which is nearly 400% of it's current position.
SONM I believe is another for 400-500% increase.
Upfiring has the capability to hit 1000%+, we'll see how things pan out.

Re: China calling for a wider ban on Crypto currency trading ?

Wow just so much FUD and FUD is all it is. Zero backing, zero truth, just people (probably banks and governments) spreading trash to drive down the prices of crypto. So A they can buy more and B to scare you away until the FOMO kicks in.

No way is China going to ban crypto. If you believe that, then you really need to get to know China. Id be much more worried about Korea banning crypto, again I don't believe they would do this.

You know all bans achieve is making people want things more. Ban drugs - people will buy them. Ban guns - criminals will find them. Speed cameras to catch cars - radar jammers and fake plates. Prostitution - people will sell sex for the price of a packet of cigarettes in Coventry (Big Mac is same price). What we need is to invest in projects we believe in. Even if the Shxx its the fan I will be ok with my portfolio. Especially DeepOnion due to TOR, OBFS4 and Meek integration. You can try to bank things, but that makes people work harder to find ways around problems with real solutions.
I often compare Crypto to "illegal Downloading". For years governments, corporations and other various teams have tried to stop it, and as a result have made it more popular than ever. Everytime they removed a release group or search engine, a bigger, better and popular one has taken it's place.
I suspect the same with Crypto.

As you stated, we are seeing this now. Bitcoin is the primary target, but in the sidelines the likes of DeepOnion have developed almost unstoppable coins which are untraceable (you can't identify who sent/received and you can't identify where in the world). We are in the brink of integrating Crypto into everything as well which will make banning Crypto very blurred (imagine an Android OS which Crypto is built into).

Re: Today's news: Chinese gov restricts Crypto again...
by
toddy47
on 10/02/2018, 08:51:50 UTC
I understand that China is most likely going to be the biggest obstacle in the Crypto, and time and time again it has been proven to be so. The government there is notorious for keeping funds within the country and attempting to bring in as much foreign cash as possible. Crypto is a big hurdle for them and quite a risk which is only making hiding payments/transactions easier, especially with the likes of Privacy coins gaining traction.
This technology is only getting stronger and more complicated, and history has shown that if people want it, they will get it one way or another (see Torrents, warez, movies).

At this stage I think the best thing you can do is begin migrating or adopting a good Privacy coin and learning how to perform truly anonymous transactions, there are the likes of the TOR network which makes it practically impossible to trace which location the transactions came from and almost impossible to block the use of them. You only need to refer to my signature to see what I am currently using.
