Re: Bybit Signature Campaign

Does this campaign accept members with a rank lower than a member?
Will there be a ($10 - $30) bonus for the best 3-4 subscribers as some campaigns do?

Anyone can recover lost coins by creating Hardfork, but will the entire network be forced to follow, no.
You can take back all your currencies or even create a new transaction with thousands of currencies.
The value of these currencies will be zero because no one will want them.
If this happens to Bitcoin, its value will be zero.

You want to save recovery data so you need to save it encrypted and then divide the encryption into several parts, including for trusted people or put it in trusted places.
There are many cryptographic algorithms and algorithms that divide cipher into parts.
You can then modify it so that 7 out of 10 of them can access data and money.
or you can make it 10 part and 10 members

Re: bitcointalk IP log
by

on 25/06/2020, 09:53:12 UTC
Your IPs are logged for 30 days only- https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php
No admin know more than 30 days.

read this again
I don't want to make older IP logs automatically accessible because that'd give a hacker a bunch of useful/sensitive information. But 30 days is probably not too harmful.

How long are records kept for my first log IP address? I remember reading somewhere that it is kept for a long time.
I remember admin has verified some hacked accounts back to 2013.

Quote
Exception: if you click on a "ping link" as part of a manual account recovery process, the IP log created by this action has possibly-indefinite retention.
How can I do that?

For how long this forum maintains my IP addresses and who can access that data?
Is it encrypted or can it be leaked if any hack occurs?
What other useful/sensitive information does the forum record?
Can it be handed over to the government if the court issues a decision?
Can admin know the IP address or all the IP addresses that I use in the forum with all my accounts or allt accounts?

I don't want to make older IP logs automatically accessible because that'd give a hacker a bunch of useful/sensitive information. But 30 days is probably not too harmful.

Re: TUTORIAL - How to fix Unconfirmed Transactions!
by

The images you posted are not showing so please fix it.

Secondly, this method is probably not going to work as at the moment you broadcast the second transaction it will be rejected because of double spending.
What you did here is just deleting the transaction locally to let your wallet create a second transaction using the same inputs. However, the first transaction still exist in other nodes' mempools.

The only way this would work is if you send the signed transaction directly to cooperating miner or when the first transaction gets dropped from the network,s mempool.
I was a newbie so the pictures didn't work, now everything is fine.
No, the method will work. It is like broadcasting the transaction using a full node with with -zapwallettxes -rescan flags

Note that the new transaction will be confirmed, old transaction will be rejected, and that the new transaction contains RBF flag.

Try it if you use old wallets like Blockchain.com, it will work.

Either way, waiting couple of days would solve the problem too. You can remove tx onve it passes several days with unconfirmed status.
Read the topic again, ir shows you how to solve the problem without waiting for several days or weeks.
Even if you send from a wallet that does not support RBF. You will be able to receive confirmations at the same time after paying a higher fee.

TUTORIAL - How to fix Unconfirmed Transactions!

We all know that last week the fees were high, I had some transactions that I sent using Blockchain.com, but it was not confirmed for a long time.
I looked for a way to solve the problem, and I found this explanation.
I would like to share it with you.

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@profitgenerator/tutorial-how-to-fix-unconfirmed-transactions

Requirements:
Unconfirmed transaction sent from wallet that does not support RBF.

The solution:

Import that wallet into Electrum, using private key or wallet seed.
We will do all the work on that wallet because it is easy to modify options in it.

Open that wallet using Electrum, you will notice the Unconfirmed transaction, but you can't do much because the wallet does not support RBF.

Disconnect the Internet, and do not return it until the last step to solve this problem.
Copy the hash of the transaction, by right clicking on it and copy. It should be a SHA-256 hash.
Create a Backup of the wallet. Be sure to do this step, problems may occur at any moment.
Open the wallet file with a text editor. The format of the wallet is JSON
Press CTRL-F on the keyboard, and search for this hash in the file

Do the following:

Delete between [] brackets + the coma above
Delete the TX hash
Delete everything between the {} bracket

Now open the wallet file, if it does, then you've finished the hard part.
If it does not work, repeat the above steps again.

Now sign a new transaction, but with a higher fee.
Reconnect to the Internet, sign this message through the file you created. And we're done.

by
tomhutchinson
on 30/05/2020, 15:16:04 UTC

Electrum

Grin

Hey guys, I've decided to ask you - what whould you do in this problemmatic situation?

Suppose you have some bitcoins (let's say 22) and you bought them / got them a few years ago very cheap, and now you see it's price and.... what to do?!! Will you take the profit and go away, or sit and hold further? Suppose you're not going to buy more. But when to sell?

if i have 22 bitcoin will hold 5-10 bitcoins and exchange 5 bitcoin into altcoins and cash rest.
if you have 22 bitcoin with very cheap price will sell it because you gain

If bitcoin will be used as our daily payment is it possible that schools will be accepting it as payment for tuition fees? And if it will be accepted they need to teach the students the use of bitcoin and give the knowledge to use it and how it works.
with this unstable price and fee i think no one will use bitcoin for daily payment.
more and more will use bitcoin for investment more than paying

by

I don't have much of bitcoin to sell it below $100,000 - and will probably do this one year after.
Still have some doubts.. Maybe $200,000 will be a better point?
Please give an advice, your opinion is important!!

PS. It's not a joke. Please be realistic while estimating..
Gonna bring up this topic close to X-Mas 2018.
No, only will sell it to exchange it to dollar because it is easy to exchange bitcoin into dollar.
Bitcoin will be investment more than normal trading coin.
some will buy it  Smiley

Actually people don’t know so much  about blockchain but they love and they have strong feeling for blockchain. People are infatuated on blockchain. People start their journey with blockchain that lead to bitcoin and day by day it earns a strong feeling on digital currency which help the people for earning money at any situation. Now this is much more excited in virtual currency and also popular like other national or international or local currency  without doubt is so much important and interrelated to blockchain world.

Bitcoin is make blockchain blockchain. people know about bitcoin  more than blockchain.

blockchain started from 1990’s and only known after 2010

against you it is risky to help children using bitcoin and earning from it.saving is better.
