Re: s17+ PIC failure
by

It is extremely unlikely that you have three simultaneous pic failures. It's more likely that the 3.3V power that is sourced by the control board to power the pic has been lost. To put it another way it is the control board that powers the pic and not any circuitry intrinsic to that particular hashboard.

Are you getting 3.3 volts on the hashboard data connector? Also, as a matter of best practices and expedience post your kernel log in a "#-button-above" sequence.
Cheers,
J
thanks a lot
but i fixed control board and all hash boards by change pic and eEprom and failure asics and one of them lost mp ic and some R in temp sensor line.
now miner work with 80th.

Re: What is the going rate for BM1397AG Asic Chips for S17+

Getting Quoted around $25 per chip with MOQ of 10 from alibaba.

Is this a reasonable price?

Any other recommended outlets?
you can buy failure hash board s17+ or t17+ and scrap it.
but be careful that hash board Intact and most of heat sinks be on chip.
by this way you have more than 20 chip and other parts of hash board with lower price.

Re: S19Pro 110T - temp sensor
by

Hi there:
Could anyone explain me how temperature sensors on S19Pro work? What [picTem] and [ChipTem] show? These columns show two data, what do they exactly mean?

The old miner S9 showed inlet and outlet temp. It was clear.
S19Pro software is not so clear... I would say horrible. And mobile version is absolutely unreadable.
Moreover, manual says nothing about this issue.

I hope the picture will be added below:
Thanks for any responses.

hi
you need this sensor in corner of hashboard.

Hi!
I use an antminer S17 at home. Yesterday, suddenly, mining stopped. Since this moment I cannot reach the miner UI, also ping is not possible. The network itself works, leds for network are on. Any idea, what I could do? A reset changed nothing.
Thanks
are your control board leds blinking or on?

Re: Problem with Antminer S9 with Braiins OS+
by
tornado_blade
on 01/05/2022, 12:40:51 UTC
Hello,

I purchased two used Antminer S9's with braiins os+.  One of them I was able to setup fine, and it is hashing at up to 14.5 TH.  For the other one, I am able to see it on my network and log into the Braiins web interface, but it is not hashing, and doesn't show any temperature readings (it does show the fan readings).  For the one that doesn't work, it has the red "fault" light lit up solid. Also on the one that doesn't work, the red light is lit up on only one of the three chip boards. I tried swapping power supplies on the two units, and got the same result.  Here is an excerpt of the kernel log where I think there are some possible issues ("no such file or directory").  Does anyone know what is wrong?  I have a call in to the seller who has a two week warranty, but hoping to figure it out.    Thanks in advance.

I noticed that the PIC LOST error can appear when the ribbon connection cable is bad, try to clean this, if it does not work you will actually have to flash the PIC with pickit
that is correct.
but my hash boards eeprom and pic exploded.
need to replace and reflash each one.

Hello friends i am new at mining. One of my cards on my a1 suddently stopped hashing(seems 0mh). I reboot my machine and i only see three cards(chains). I saw the log file and i thin i detect the problem, but i cant understand what it really is.

First a problem with chain 1

0 asic there might be a connection issue on this hashboard would you mind to try run all hashboard one by one?

Another thing that can cause this issue is a bad PSU, sometimes the PSU just can't handle 3 hash boards, an easy to troubleshoot both the wiring and the PSU in the same step would be to disconnect 1 working boards wires (PSU + data ribbon cables) and attaching them to the bad board.

that is correct.
but in this case find 0 asic. most probably first hashboard failure.

@bitmaxz every time I try to flash via website it says incorrect file. will it be different if I use sd card?

It will be incorrect file if you are trying to flash SD card image through browser.
You need SD card and put all extracted file to SD card. Follow the guide from the link that I posted above.

Or if your miner control board is c5 then you wont be able to flash it through SD card. Use the firmware with extension tar.gz that support c5 controller and upgrade it through browser.

I updated through web browser and the problem is the same. here's the new log

Re: PIC Chip Errors (Again)

Installed Bitmain's original firmware Bitmain_Antminer-S17Pro-user-OM-201908201037-sig. I've included the whole log and what sticks out is

Chain[2] PIC init failed!
set_miner_status: ERROR_SOC_INIT
stop mining: soc init failed!

So replaced PIC chip with new, flashed a good hex onto it. I'm not sure what to look for next and appreciate any direction on next moves. Thank you.

Edit: I am running with just this board connected.

Two of my chips got stuck to the heatsink when it dropped, whilst im arranging it to be repaired, can I safely run the board?

when your hash board temp rises your control board kill hash board and stop mining or restart s17+ because bad core or high temp.
your hash board have 4 temp sensor and read your temp from every chip and send average temp to control board.
when your hit sink on chip lost, your chip warming deadly and your fans can't get cool your chip, cause your hash board didn't damaged control board power off hash board or restart to hash boards get cooler.
that work only 5-10 min.
better way replace your asics and put your hit sink on chip with solder in s17+.

Hi
your Hash board on chain 2 after get warm, only detect 58 asic and you need to reball chip 59, better reball 58 and 59. just be careful your heat didn't harm around asics and hit sinks.

I was cleaning my hasboards and dropped one of them, the impact caused two heatsinks to fall off.

I have attached two pictures.

How do I go about cleaning the current heatsink and hashboard chip prior to correcting?

Which thermal paste is considered the best for this job?

Hi,
your asics failed and can't use solder to place your hit sink on chip.
You need to replace with new asic BM1397AG or BM1397AI and need Stencil for chip.
Then use a little solder on chip or hit sink and then put hit sink on chip with heater and make sure solder between chip and hit sink totally melted.
if your board is running well and you cant replace your asics you can put your hit sink by kafuter 704 but this isn't recommended way and after some day or month your bord severely damaged.

Same as My trouble

How do you repair it ?

your log is mean  No voltage in Domain 7 (Column Cool

but mine  is No Voltage in Last Domain 12 (Column 11)

i Change LDO 8 pin and LDO 4 Pin   still Not working

how about you

do you changed your control board?
before change that make sure your flats are healthy.

I search a bit and found PIC16F1704.hex but I don't know if this pic file will work because this pic file is dumped from the L3+ hashboard.

You can check the link below. If you are going to use this firmware to try make sure to backup or dump the original hex file first so that you can restore it in the future if it didn't work.

Or try to dump the original hex file and flash it with your backup and maybe it can fix your issue.

Do you mind posting the kernel logs here I just curious on how did you know that it was a PIC issue.

thank you
I found other healthy hash board and dump pic file from that.
I used t17+ pic file before and didn't work.

If you have the pickit that is needed to flash the firmware, then you can also read the firmware out of one of your other boards. No need to buy it.

thanks,
I have Pickit 4 but didn"t have any healthy S17+ Hash board.

Why not backup the PIC file from another known working hashboard?

Anyway, try to contact this thierry4wd he might be able to give you a copy of the pic file for this unit.

If not, then you can buy the pic file from zeusBTC here https://www.zeusbtc.com/ASIC-Miner-Repair/Parts-Tools-Details.asp?ID=220

cuz i don't have any s17+ Hash Board and 3 of them pic's and drivers failed.
thanks.
