Hi Everyone -

We've been working on the satellite node concept that came up in the conversations a couple days ago. It's a great idea because it allows us to grow the Viral network far beyond the number of people actually staking Viral in wallets. We are a few days away from it being fully operational but here is a sneak peak : -)

ViralDev

Sweet! That is some amazing incentive.

If this is what I think it is, it is good news indeed. To put it in viral terms..... : -) ..... a viral infection makes its greatest leaps when it manages to escape a current, closed ecosystem - like crossing an ocean for example. If what this 'satellite node' announcement means is that you do not have to actually have the viral wallet to act as a viral node - then they have figured out a way to escape the crypto-ecosystem, as it were. It means the network can get much larger, much faster.

That's exactly what they are attempting to. It will be interesting to see what solution they have come up with. Looks like it is going to be a faucet of some kind. Only everyone that shows up also has a chance to join the network?

Hi Dev

Have you guys considered the possibility of tagging node addresses and using sub tags when Viral members start farming their own subnodes? The way I am reading it is gonna be the wild west out there - people are going to be making giant subnets and take a cut of everything they are bringing in. Tagging nodes would let you to that seems to me.

Heard there was a contest to guess the crowdfund final amount but it got deleted by forum mods. Anyone know who was running that or where it is now?

I am seeing alot of off the record buying ( by private messages) happening in the crowdfunding thread. What's up with that? What is the reason for keeping secret about buying this coin and how come so many people are doing that?

Positioning my friend. Some people don't want others knowing they are in for various reasons, especially given the,  ummmmm, controversial nature of this coin. Others are affiliated with various groups and don't want to be seen moving in. Some people are hoping that the crowdfunding stays relatively low so they can move in and swoop up large shares of the coin. Some people are trolling the shit out of this coin while quietly buying. etc etc

Looks like Viral is gonna be Mr toads wild ride : -)

Well. A lot of strange controversy over this new launch. Personally i do not care if Mr Adam whatever his name is  has outfoxed FB for 800 billon dollars. My questions are these:

What are the reasons for investing in this crowdfunding phase? for real.

15 billion dollars that is being spent on social marketing, and this platform is going to disrupt that, and let me earn money that way instead of mining?   Pls explain.

Some serious answers please. I do not mind reading complete paragraphs.

Re: [ANN] xCash : First Coin Feat. 100% Stealth Anon - NEW xChange P2P OTC

I'm now in the 2nd level of tech support of cryptsy for my deposit problem Roll Eyes Unfortunatly I cannot double check again if I sent my coins to the correct stealth address, because its not displayed on blockexplorer or in my wallet transactionlist (xcashd). Is there another opportunity to see the stealth address again where its been sent?

I spent a couple weeks at second level with no real response. Eventually I got my issue solved by politely flagging down a mod in the chat. You might even get an answer on the stealth issue that leads to a mod getting involved. Worth a try if your ticket gets hung up.

It's not a bug, its about understanding the codebase in a way that makes sense.  The xCash codebase is organized like spaghetti code with a mishmash of different solutions that were coded for problems, ESPECIALLY in regards to the database.  There is 2 separate databases to track currency value when really there should be only 1. One uses BerklyDB the other LevelDB, 2 separate hash table database engines.  BerklyDB was the original, and LevelDB was supposed to better faster, but had problems on Mac with corruption etc...  So the programmers who did this initially half finished the conversion of the code for BerklyDB and left the other half LevelDB, leaving a huge mess to clean up.

So doing it the way I proposed will be less prone to errors and more secure long term.  Hope this clears some things up.

Note::

My solution is going to use an SQL table, which is slower if the ledger kept growing... HOWEVER... since I plan to have a limited ledger it will wind up being faster overall long-term and easier to maintain and understand.  Probably will use SQLite.

Good plan. We are with ya bud.

yes because my address is "normal", cryptsy has this long stealth addresses. At the moment I have problems receiving xcash to my cryptsy at all, for hours now. I hope its only a bug with them. You can save coins to my address anyway but I will send them out later, when cryptsy is ok again.

Ok thx. Will send you a pm.

I apologize, I got held up with work to pay the bills Sad, so its hard to get on here, but I'm still interested in this coin or the new version of it anyways.

There are a few things that are going to need to be made clear in regards to the current xCash holders.  Integrating the old coin value into the new coin I plan on attempting will be difficult if I attempt to do it directly.  By directly I mean, add into the code special conditions to look at the existing xCash online database and transfer etc...  Therefore, we'll have to come to some community assessment for how we plan to transfer xCash holders to the new coin.  I do have a few ideas for how it could be done.

Since the amount of major xCash holders is so small this should not be too difficult to do.

Possible Ideas

1.) We put the xCash funds into an address online that is public and visible for xCash holders currently.  I can then hardcode an equivalent amount of currency to preexisting addresses in the blockchain of the new coin I create.  As long as this is public knowledge which funds are going to what addresses and we are open about that here I think it will be okay for the coin just starting out.

Pros
  • Very easy to transfer funds
  • Proof you will receive funds within the blockchain of the new coin

Cons
  • Requires trust that I will integrate into the new coin

This is the first idea I have so far, I'll put more as I think of them, but I want to do something to reward the current holders of xCash and transfer them over as best as possible.

I say go with this one.

2 questions for SN:

• Why not listed on Bittrex?

• Will you look into Navajo coin who just released what they claim to be the tightest anon protocol yet?

Can't speak to the Nav question but i believe the problem with Bittrex lies in SN being technically an asset, not a coin. There will be BTC / SN pairing on Instantdex as I understand.

Hahaha AltcoinUK complaining about the quality of other people's posts & history?  .....that's rich.  rich enough for thanksgiving day.

AltcoinUK moves like a psychotic cloud from thread to thread raining fud wherever he hovers. This thread was actually civilized for 20 - 30 pages ...why? ... because he was off fudding the Tile thread .... ? ....go check.  you be the judge.

Fuck off :-))) Read my last post on the TileCoin thread, I gave them a valid, very constructive and helpful comment on their hardware strategy and PCB, basically I brought more to their table in one post than the clueless, loud and useless Chinaman brigade combined :-)))

Hohoho, that's the Thanksgiving spirit! serve the potatoes and pass the profanity please!

Valid constructive criticism?? ??  Man, share the drugs you are on, so we can see the fud thru your happy eyes. You have been a one man wrecking ball on that thread. Logic and facts were no obstacles to you there either.  "Clueless loud chinamen." Rasism anyone?

And here you are oblivious to the  facts endlessly. Like ... ico on bter had a completely different liquidity pool. Supernet sold what, two - three times as much as Bay without missing a beat. Rants about newbie accounts. Yet everyone who has been patiently trying to remove the log from your eye are full members or above."dumping below ico price"  is fine rhetoric - we expect nothing less from you when you take a short break from the racism & profanity - however the volume is minuscule ("dumping"?) and it is less than 10% below ico. Supernet is currently twice as far below ico. Maybe you should go over there and rant. Lots of chinese folks there too.

Thought this was supposed to be the smart contract wallet. This demo shows jpeg encryption. Why not show some smart contract functionality, that's what we want to see.
