[ANN] [LISK] cryptobase for Active Lisk Delegate
by
tracphil
on 01/06/2016, 12:54:05 UTC
Hello, my name is Tracy Phillips and I am campaigning to be elected an Active Lisk Delegate which I will help secure the Lisk network by running a highly available forging node.

I am more than capable of running a Lisk node on Linux. I currently manage over 500 CentOS/Redhat boxes. You can read a bit more about my qualifications on my LinkedIn profile

I have been running a delegate node since 0.1.x and currently running a node on Mainnet and will do so on Testnet when it is available..

I have been involved with crypto currencies since the middle of 2103 when I purchased my first two Bitcoin through what I now consider shady practices (Skyping somone in Europe and showing my ID to them).

I was into NXT at one point and forged by first block on a POS system: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=398720.0

My delegate I will contribute 20% to the Lisk Financed Forever Fund when it is formed. The LFFF will directly fund the Lisk Foundation developers when its ICO funds run out.

Please cast your vote for cryptobase to secure our great network. YOU can make a difference and together we can make Lisk great!

Have a super day!

I am working very hard to be an active Delegate and I had much rather see a delay or two and have a solid launch. Those of us that are heavily invested in Lisk want to see it succeed.

I am currently running  a delegate node and I do want to see the next version of the client released so that it can be stressed tested. The dev's have completely rewritten the back-end database layer and I don't know about you, but I don't want to loose money on this and the best way to do that, is test, test, test.

Speaking of delegates, the community should:

1. Have a central location where delegates should report what they are doing to add value to the system.

2. Set minimum expectations of how often delegates should update the community.

The most annoying aspect of DPoS was getting updates. As a community, we should not have to track down updates. It should be the delegate's responsibilty to communicate.

Why?

At $10 a coin, each delegate will actually earn $1.5 million / year (150K x $10)

I don't mind this one bit, because less people will be selling.

It is a problem : the dev team should change this.

that's assuming that it becomes $10.  At a realistic ICO price of you know Fucking 7 cents, it's barley enough to cover what some of us pay in server fees.

Bullshit. at 7 cents you stilll 10k a year, which more than enough for server fees.

https://fdcservers.net/fdc_order/index_5.php?plan_id=726 that one in particular seems to be popular with a few folk.
lol true but so is calculating the value at $10 per lisk

Oh and some people are discussing purchasing $500+ month servers for lisk nodes.

Can you link to the server package your referring to ? if not ill have to call BULLSHIT on that.

The official launch of Lisk is scheduled for the end of April, the worst case scenario being early May. That gives us enough time to fix various security related issues, and implement new features into the Lisk core.

Read the complete plan on our blog!

Any marketing related plans?

If we are lucky they will announce a big VC investment

In the grand scheme of things an extra couple weeks isn't that long. Plus, waiting a few weeks will draw more excitement which is good for Lisk. I know it's easier said than done, that's why i have gone and prepped a few bottles of wine to get me through until launch  Cheesy Cheesy
How was that a reply to my post? I have not mentioned launch.
errm. yeah I think I quoted the wrong dude. Sorry, and I haven't even dipped into the wine yet Roll Eyes

I just finished glass #1 for the weekend.

Cheers!

Some people really need to spend some time brushing up on a few basic trading concepts, like market cap, depth, volume, etc.

Stop worrying about a dump and what yobit price is. It's fun I admit but we're not going to know until it's actually traded on real exchanges with adequate volume.

What this has done, and I'm glad it did, is create a lot of publicity for LISK. Anyone that didn't know about LISK last week, knows about it this week.  Grin

yup.  4k lisk owners vs. 40k non-lisk owners on polo.

those 40k non-lisk owners you claim knew about it as it was talked about alot in the trollbox

are you sure everyone was online at the exact time someone was talking about lisk or logged in at all during the ico time?  There will never be a point where 100% of people learn about a project like this and have time to even make a call if they should ICO or not.

Not to mention, not everyone wants to take on the risk of an ICO.

well you tell me what the hell "js" stands for? bwaahahaah

Node.js runs stand-alone JavaScript programs.  ...does ORACLE know that you are doing this?  lol

Please don't tell Oracle  Cry btw, for idiots like you: http://www.tutorialspoint.com/execute_nodejs_online.php

why not? whos to say i don't moonlight for them? ...also whats with the dead link? (:

Who's to say we give a shit about you? Nobody gives a fuck about your retarded opinions.  Go stroke Vitaliks dick and GTFO.

seriously you are walking into a trap...i have friends at Oracle (:   now what was that?

NOBODY GIVES A FUCK, What do you think your friends at Oracle are going to do?  They are going to pound sand.  You are just an egotistical asshat who thinks people should respect you because you think you have knowledge or friends.

You don't even know who I am, I have friends in high places also.  Just because you say your friends work at Oracle does not tell me shit, they could be the fucking janitor at Oracle.

Oracle could easily shut this project down in a heartbeat and you know it! bwaahahah ~  Cool  nice try

You sir are an idiot.

Hi All,

This is my first ICO and a little nervous, I've checked my exchange and generated my keys etc, is it right that my dashboard should still show 0 Lisk at this stage?

My estimate is showing up on the ICO site ok.

What you are seeing is correct.

There will be insane dumping from signatures... eitherway... one month delay...

i hope we wont use a new verb after mtgox...

You ve been LISKED!!!

Very possible will happen, How good is going to be that? Will it be given a week later after official launch so there is not a big dump of free lisk?

People keep talking about big dumps, but you are forgetting to mention the overpowering massive buys that will come from venture capital types.

There are a lot of investors with deep pockets who are not going to start buying a coin until it is proven and on a big regulated market like poloniex or kraken.

For example, look at ETH, a massive dump of 1000 BTC worth will "crash" the price from 0.0240 down to 0.0235

That is what I call a "dip"... if even that really.

Let's think rationally about this.

We know the technology behind Lisk is sound (this is what got me interested).

We know that Lisk has an easier path to developers than Ethereum. JS might not be the perfect language, but it is good enough(tm).

VHS was not as good as Betamax, but VHS dominated. VHS wasn't the best, it was good enough. Betamax is now obosolete.

So with that said, why shouldn't LISK have a larger marketcap than Ethereum?

When I bought in, that is *exactly* what I expected.

smart move for yobit, but this can turn bad if LISK sold is more than they bought in ICO.

How?

If YoBit sells more than they have then that's on them not LISK. People that buy from them are taking the risk that YoBit will really have the LISK and can exchange their LISK tokens 1:1 for real LISK.

If you take that risk, it's on you. Not LISK

If they bought 1,000,000 LISK and they sell 1,000,000 LISK IOU's... then how can there be more LISK than they have.

Jeez...

Code:
Validate your ICO Passphrase!
Important! Every ICO participant should do it!

Guys I don't understand it. Why should I risk security issues again. I saved the file. Is there really the possibility that its wrong? Kidding me?
With bitcoin you try to make paperwallets offline to be sure, that there is no hacking possibility and I should repeatedly risk it here?

just follow rules like

ma dringt koa hells ausm weisbiaglasl...

crypto rules say, that you don't send unnecessarily security tokens around...
so again the question. Is there ANY case, that a passphrase can be wrong in the generated file?

There have been cases where people have generated multiple keys, etc. So they implemented a method to make sure you were using the correct key that you generated last.

Its up to you really. If you are confident then don't do anything. Your keys will work. However, if you are not using the correct key, you are screwed.

I generated my keys but now it says I have to confirm them wtf is this a phishing email?

You don't have to confirm your keys, but it is a good idea.

https://academy.lisk.io/lisk-guide-to-verifying-your-ico-generated-keys-c11a5df1089f#.

You only have to do one confirmation for each of your transactions. This is optional buy highly recommended.

Alternatively, take a flying fuck into a rolling doughnut hole and admit that if you idiot & greedy enough to "invest" in a zero experienced university student and a wanker-lawyer (who doesn't mind to give his name to a blatant scam), then you shouldn't be surprised when the whole scam is collapsing.

In the past in Iota thread you said "one scam at a time". Now I feel myself like you have cheated on me. I hope it's just a threesome and you didn't really break up with Iota...

LoL That was at least funny Sergey.

On the serious note, it is too late son, your crime has been committed - now you are the yesterday news. When you will be in jail for your blatant IOTA scam and the horny prison population fuck so hard your tight ass with their giant Belarusian dicks, then you will wish be in this threesome.

This is going to turn into a full blown porno. Where do I get my popcorn Cheesy

lisk is not a scam. dev will build masterpiece and lawyer will get rich. and then we can get rich. learn to have patience.

Lisk is a scam ... if you didn't buy-in yet, or are hoping for below ICO prices.

It's funny if you look at all the scam threads while the ICO was ongoing. Those same people shouting 'Scam' then turned around later stating how their FUD didn't work, and they actually bought in. They simply wanted to keep the ICO numbers down so they would get a greater number of Lisk (although since the price would proportionally be lower, not sure if that would have been much of an advantage).

FUD/Hype, take all with a grain of salt. It just depends on whatever benefits whomever is posting. This forum is like one giant trollbox.

Well, there is an entire community asking to launch on april 11. Dev seems ignore community telling the real truth about the delay.
It's not just cause of validation key. It's ridicolous.
Look at github and how many problems with source need to be fixed.....

Seems there is nothing here. Only github issues to be fixed.
Eth,decred got months of testnet with community before mainet. Checking all functionallity.
Here there is nothing ready ihmo.

I bought some, so, it's not fud. Just my opinion on current facts.

This shows you know nothing about Github Issues and how they work.

Anyone can submit an issue. I could submit one that said I don't like the shape of the L in the Lisk logo.

It would have nothing to do with the operational aspect of Lisk.

I've just got a reminder from Lisk Devs

Validate your ICO Passphrase!
Important! Every ICO participant should do it!
Hello,

You are receiving this email because you participated in the Lisk ICO. According to our records, you haven't validated your passphrase yet.

Validating your passphrase is extremely important. We are therefore actively encouraging all users to validate their passphrases at their earliest convenience. This is in order to be absolutely certain that you have recorded the correct passphrase. Otherwise you risk not being able to access your Lisk account after we launch. Validation requires that you enter your passphrase on the Lisk ICO website, where your passphrase will be verified against the public key we have on record. No passphrases are transmitted over the network, all validation is performed locally within the browser.

Please refer to the following guides in order to successfully generate and/or validate your passphrase:

...

We make photocopy, downloads and print of our passphrase and still some are not valid  Huh.

Their ico systems has failures at the time the ico was creating addresses...

Open a support request:

https://lisk.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Your concerns will be addressed.
