TA on BTC
by
traderperspective
on 08/03/2018, 19:45:38 UTC
What is your technical take on BTC right now? I am personally in a bit puzzled..
I am looking at the 4 hour chart, and we had a downtrend channel from the top around 18th dec which was (on my chart) broken on the 1st of March. Today we saw a huge volume spike around 9.3k where I also have a support level. I hope we do not break this for real!
IF we really break 9.3k I cannot find any real volume-based support levels before 5.9k!!
How do you see BTC right now? FA is also very welcome!

BTC atm

What is your take on BTC atm from a technical perspective? The current bottom was at 5.9k and around 5 days ago an upper resistance level of 11.7 made the price pull a little back again. Are we just playing a bit around testing resistance levels, and suddenly we blow all the upper levels and see prices skyrocket again?
Or is this a part of a longer correction where we are to see the price move sideways or in a downtrend for a couple of months while people get their optimism back again.

I know there is not one right answer to this and everything can happen.. But what is your take on the BTC market atm from a graph-perspective (fundamental is welcome as well!)?

Personally, I am very much in doubt. I do not like the current volume levels, on the other side I do not think the upper resistance levels will hold for very long, and when we are on the right side of 11.7 for good, I believe in blue skies - until next correction ;-)

Re: Take profits – But into what?
by

If you want to take profit to hold for when another dip comes, you should find coins that are either very resistant to the overall market-cap. By this, I mean coins that, when the market falls 50% 'only' falls 25%. You can look at the graph history from this dip and see if there are any particular coins with a better resistance. And then check whether this was true in other dips as well.

Otherwise, there are really only fiat and USDT to move into, if you want to take profits that is meant to be used for buying crypto at a point in time, where you believe the prices are lower than the moment where you sell.

Market to ath again
by

What is your take on the market conditions? Do you think we are seeing this bullish trend (from the bottom) keep going to ath again, or do you think resistance will hit the uptrend back again?

What price levels are you watching?

I am watching 12k, but I am very bullish on the market right now.

There are no certain answer to this kind of question. What is possible to say is that much more people are better off with a buy and hold strategy. But if you have experience and are a profitable trader, then you’ll be able to make it in crypto as well.
Just don’t make the mistake and think that you are smarter than the majority and that you can beat the crypto market with a trading strategy over a buy and hold strategy. He humble and spend time learning, before starting to trade actively.

Re: BTC HOLD or SELL?
by

If you have 70 BTC I would not state that publicly if I were you. Just to provide you the information, there are a lot of warnings about publicly stating personal holdings for a variety of reasons, primarily because of hacking precautions.

But to answer your question, if you are holding that many BTC it can be an idea to diversify. Sell xx percentage as a risk-management decision, and keep the rest. It also depends on you buy-price, but since you are holding that many, I assume you got in in the early days.

Personally, I would sell 20-30% and keep the rest long term. Or maybe allocate 15% to altcoins and sell 15% into fiat. All depends on your risk-aversion and your buy price.

Learnings from crash
by
traderperspective
on 08/02/2018, 18:30:16 UTC
What do you feel you have learned from the crash (if anything)? I think the market has gained a little bit more stability now, and therefore it is nice to look back on your own thoughts and the decisions you made when experiencing such a crash.
Personally, I learned that I need to continuously, as markets grow, 'take off some risk' and allocate some profits from alt into ethereum and bitcoin.
In the same regards, I will also begin to allocate small percentages into $ so that I can gain more on crashes like this one.
Lastly, I once again got confirmed, that in crypto we see huge volatility and that is just something we have to live with - for now at least. Never panic sell in corrections!!!

Crypto MC in two months
by
traderperspective
on 06/02/2018, 18:31:32 UTC
As of right now the sentiment of crypto is fear. Many have taken losses and realized that crypto was not their game. Other have been in the 'the game' for longer, and have 'just' seen profits gotten smaller, but are still firm believers of the tech.

Anyway, we are experiencing a severe market correction. But where do you think we will be in two months. Jan 7th the market cap was 820bn$. Now we are at 336bn$.
Where do you think we are in 2 months from now?

Best opportunities
by
traderperspective
on 05/02/2018, 13:01:15 UTC
What coins do you see as the best opportunities in the current market?
I am a firm believer in ZenCash, EOS, QTUM and Cardano which have all taken massive drops (cf. BTC drop). I would buy them all day at these levels.

Which coins do you feel the same way about?

TA on BTC
by
traderperspective
on 03/02/2018, 16:31:29 UTC
I am looking at tradingview graphs of BTC and deciding resistance levels. As TA is both an attempt to stay objective, only looking at the graphs, TA is still a bit subjective in the way a person draws his lines.
I'll give my take on BTC TA, and if anybody's graphs tell the same or different, please just give it a shot in this thread.

From what I see, the current price is ≈8450, which means we just broke a resistance at 8500 from end November.
If we are seeing further drops from here and the price does not rebound from this level, we are to go back to mid-November to find a resistance at around 5400. Should this not hold, the next should be mid-September at ≈2900. Although, I do not see 2900 levels as an option right now.

As I said, this is just my view, if you have others, please share!

ICO platforms
by
traderperspective
on 31/01/2018, 15:36:07 UTC
Several platforms for launching ICOs are emerging, and more are evolving. In 2017 the (almost) only platform used was Ethereum. Now NEO, Stellar and other projects, seems to offer very good solutions for launching ICOs.
Do you think Ethereum will be the winner in the long run, or do we see other platforms offer better solutions?

I am interested in the way you have build the algo (I am a data scientist). Without revealing your formula, what kind of parameters does your algorithm take. Do you base it on volume, TA thresholds/levels etc? Just to get an idea, as I think it is very interesting to hear what kind of parameters your prediction model are using :-)

Dip over?
by
traderperspective
on 18/01/2018, 11:24:52 UTC
Do you think we've seen the worst of this dip for now?
Bitfinex cryptowatch shows the lowest deal on BTC for this time was 9,231$ which was just about a Fibonacci retracement (almost on point). I am not using TA normally, but I am considering it when thinking about the market. For now, it looks like the worst is over. This dip might be a healthy thing for the market, and CAN be the catalyst for another run-up.
What is your take on the situation?

Lowest fees from fiat to crypto

I have always bought my way into crypto though Coinbase, but I am starting to get tired of the fees. Do you know any cheaper places than coinbase that you have used yourself?
