You are in crypto. If you want regulated investments, go buy some stocks or CDs. The reason we can make so much money in crypto is because this is the Wild West. It's also the reason that we can lose money. If you are willing to accept the profits, you have to be willing to accept the risk of loss as well. The project isn't dead, but maybe you should sell all of your tokens and go find a regular bank account to invest your money. There's zero risk there, but you won't have to worry about making a profit either.
