How can I integrate wallet.dat from an old wallet(java) into a new one? There is only the import of the private key which I do not know.
Same process as other full node wallets. You can either drop your wallet.dat into a fresh full node install (place wallet.dat into the Zelcash data directory) or you can use the web wallet at my.zel.cash and import your wallet.dat to transfer funds to a new lightweight address.
ZelCore is happy to announce that Monero ($XMR) is supported. Currently, Monero is available on Desktop with limited Mobile support in terms of sending. Sending from Mobile will be released next update cycle (receiving is currently enabled on Mobile).
OpenAlias, Sweeping, and Payment IDs are also supported within ZelCore, providing the best Monero support for lightweight addresses in a multi-asset wallet. Send to alias addresses, sweep an entire address's value into a new one, and add your own payment notes.
Today we are announcing the development of ZelCore Premium (internally named "Project Paradigm"), which provides a completely new set of features and tools to store, invest, and trade your crypto. The Medium article explains all the new features, how they are packaged into ZelCore, and whats in store for the future of the platform itself.
Please welcome Goose (Goose-tech) to the Zel Team. He will be providing marketing/media resources, helping create YouTube videos and other content to expand the number of eyes on ZelCash. ZelCore v1.3.0 - "Jaeger" Major Update, scheduled for release by 11 January 2019. Release for mobile could be longer depending on the App Store review processes.
This release features multiple addresses for each asset, and more.
Good to know that dev is still working on this project. The Zelcash walllet on iPhone will still be useable when the ZelNodes is released. Am I right?
If you are using the copay wallet, which is this one for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zelcash-wallet/id1425452511?mt=8 then no, it will not work. The software does not allow for Sapling integration and we unfortunately will have to end support for the copay wallet.
You can either send all your coin to your new wallet, or use the web wallet at https://my.zel.cash to import your copay exported wallet, then send the coin to your new wallet from the web wallet.
can you create multiple instances of the same wallet from different machines? ie, is each instance unique or can you tie them together with the same userid? tia!
You can log into your ZelCore account on any device you wish. On a new device, register a local account using the EXACT same username and password for your account, then login and you have access to the same wallet.
Thanks...so that means username/pword are stored centrally somewhere right? Not sure I like that.
Nothing is stored or transmitted (we are also very against centrally storing any user info so we do not do this practice at all). The username and password are hashed together to create a master private key to access the wallet, and all the hashing functions are performed locally on your device. This is also why there is no recovery option if you lose your login credentials so store them securely, best is pen/paper and in a very secure place.
Thanks for clarifying. Since login info is used as the unique seed, if a user chooses a poor user name and password (ie. admin/abcde) or if by chance another user has the same username/password combo funds could be compromised.
Correct. Its similar to logging into mobile banking website. Always use a unique and strong set of login credentials
