Re: Now you can know your 3080/3090 Memory temps !
by

on 31/01/2021, 03:39:17 UTC
So here are some examples:

Re-padded Gigabyte OCs 3080 with Thermal Grizzly 8 Pads:
98°C, 98°C, 94°C, 96°C

Stock ASUS TUF OCs 3080:
100°C, 104°C, 106°C, 104°C.....

I dont like that. Should I consider doing a pad replacement on the ASUS, too? Worry about warranty.

Same here, Asus tuf 3080 OC 102C-106C at 90% fans and two 120mm scythe fans pushing air along the cards. Waterblocks are on the way, otherwise these memory banks will be a toast . I live in ever hot country so no nice low temps unless water-cooled.

This is how my three MSI Vega 64LC (Samsung mem) are doing at loki+turtle using TRM 0.4.3, cn_config setting L28+28, driver amd 18.6.1, win 10 pro 1903; GB z270p-d3 board :

https://imgur.com/6vi5VwS      -  the overdriventool values (the brnsted soft power table values)

https://imgur.com/M7UwQUb     - the trm 0.4.3 hash rate

https://imgur.com/W2Q9Dh4      -  hdwinfo

With this power table and the 18.6.1 driver the Vegas can mine days on end, no stability issues.

I tried 19.3.3. driver and settings mentioned on page 57 here and the cards didn't last a minute. At  cn_config L56 the bat file would not even run, terminal closed immediately.

What is the soft power table used together with the settings shown on this 2.8.0 beta 1 overdriventool screenshot?  Possible to share the file?

Those settings together with a brnsted powertable , amd 19.3.3 driver result in dead MSI Vega64LC (samsung memory)  gpus less than a minute mining in TR. not even changing p7 to 875 can be used to save them from failing.

anybody knows a solution to fans not being controlled by smOS?

Running two nvidia evga 1080ti SC2 cards, same setup no issues in HiveOS, however in smOS (latest download version from the smOS site)  the fans stay at 0% despite setting them to 75% .   resarted several times, same situation.

will try other options too.

this is with power table and overdriven tool  P7 1374/890   P3 1070/870 settings,  power taget -25%, win 10 , amd 18.5.1 driver

Li Xiaolai is a Grand Chinese Crypto Whale.

-snip-

I find your post to be both alarming and disturbing.

Are you saying that all Chinese backed coins are ponzi schemes? Not that i've invested in many of these coins, but i do have NEO which is dubbed as "China's Ethereum" in my portfolio. Maybe now is indeed a good time to look for an exit opportunity.

Yeah, I am embarrassed to admit I have Neo, too.  It's called not doing your due diligence.

EDIT:  Sorry, I realize that I did not directly address your question.  From today forward, my working assumption is that if a coin's white paper involves personalities who have been involved in past pump n' dump Chinese Ponzi Coins, then yeah, until proven otherwise it is Ebola-laden plutonium.  Proving otherwise is going to involve some work, starting with maybe reading the White Paper and thinking for 10 minutes about the 'real world' use case.  Going through that exercise, completely by accident, over the past week on one of these Chinese Ponzi Coins was an eye-opener for me.  And right after I did that, the Li recording hits the news.  Well, no shit.  Matches up to something I had dug into first hand.  Look at my last 30 posts, you can piece it together.

Haha, in the Chinese  text, Li directly says:
NEO也同样是个傻X项目,达鸿飞手里没有几个币。  NEO again like the others is a tw..t (fk...n) project , Da Hongfei (the founder)  doesn't have a penny in his hands.

Funny thing is, Li Xiaolai's name in Chinese characters can jokingly read as:  Li  laugh  is coming Cheesy  unfortunately it looks like no laughing  at all

I finally got a pair of 1080ti's pointed here I am doing about 105 - 107 sols  for the 2 combined.

I am mining at miningpoolhub   is anyone running 1080tis on algo 144_5 and getting around 52-54 sols a card?

getting 50-54 with evga 1080ti sc2 hybrids, power set to 68-72%, small cc and mem overclocks  50-50 or 100-50

Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator
by

on 01/06/2018, 06:45:14 UTC
Good news!

I want to ask again ,  is the use of the M.2 accelerator  helping only a single GPU on the motherboard or all  GPUs will benefit?

The MBs with two M.2 slots can use two accelerator units ? ( in the case a single GPU per accelerator)

One Acorn can help multiple GPUs depending on algorithm, you can use two in two M.2 slots.

So an Asrock B250M Pro 4 mATx board which has 2 PCIe 3.0  x16 slots and 2 Ultra M.2 PCIe GEN 3.0 x4   will get two GPUs  fully boosted by two accelerators.

In the case of a board with single x16 slot and say 4 PCIe x1 slots, all GPUs will benefit but to a lesser degree as the limitation on x1 slots?

 Is this correct?

Hi Phil,

I ran it for a short period while the raven pool was down,   nvidia is still no match for the AMD camp performance when talking about cryptonight algos. (unless the OhGod team release something nice in this lane) Fairpool's calculator  fluctuates about 1.80-1.90usd per 1080ti, my Vega 56@64 do 1350h/s on the same (2.80-3.10usd) .

On a side note, Phil you are a legend, I have been following your threads since day one and getting involved into mining is largely due to the information and knowledge discussed here. Greatly appreciated!

EVGA 1080ti SC2  68% power, 50core 50mem is doing about 850-875h/s on cryptonight_heavy (Saronite)  with xmr stak , win 10, nvidia 391 driver

Hi,

The site is on a Chinese server and maybe there is some restriction on IP addresses from certain locations

I am able to access it, below are screenshots on the buttons you need to press to download the file. I can upload it somewhere  online if you still cannot open the site.

@ GPUHoarder

The M2 accelerator units seem pretty interesting as they would bring some lifespan extension to the GPUs.

You mentioned in a post before that a GPU must be put in 16x or 8x slot and M2 accelerator can boost that  card. Would that mean that boards such as the Asrock B250M Pro4 which have    2x  PCI Express x16 and 2x M2 Ultra slots can accommodate two accelartors for two GPUs plugged in the 16x pci-es?
