This project is lucky to have sometime as proactive as Crowetic.  That's really promising for a young project, being able to track down issues before the coin finds its legs.

I had put in a ticket with Crypto-Bridge more than a week ago and heard nothing about POLY withdrawals, so I'm glad that it's something that they have been made aware of and are going to get things working again.  It was certainly distressing to have coins just vanish and hearing nothing about it.

In such a down market overall, I'm feeling really good about POLY.  I saw some updates on PolyShield on the forums, seems things are moving along nicely; it's really the perfect time to build up a coin when the waters are quiet, anyway.  Looks like a good time to get back to mining.

Re: [ANN] CryptoRescue | Help Animals In Need | Donation Org | Premine Donations

So, I like the basic idea of this project a lot.  I definitely think it has a lot of heart, and that's something lacking from a lot of coins that are out there.  Which is fine for them I suppose, tons of coins are just focused solely on the technology behind it.  I've only seen a few focus on a cause (Reefcoin comes to mind).  And it's nice to have one that resonates with me as the sort of causes I would be personally invested in.  I've been quietly mining this one for some time, and my goal with it is really to be able to afford adopting and caring for some pets of my own, and providing all the necessary care, using CryptoRescue.  Hopefully I'll be making that sort of move around the same time that the donation is being made, and hopefully the coin price at that time allows 7 million CPR to be a substantial help to whatever organization gets the donation.

I do struggle a bit with this one since I don't want to think of CryptoRescue as "just another coin", but I'm not sure where it goes beyond that after reading the whitepaper--that definitely lays out the 'why' of the project and the soul of it, but not the 'how'.  I'm wondering how the coin will achieve a foothold and become something meaningful, beyond being just an asset to mine and sell off for donation funds.  Online stores are great and all, but are there plans to do more with the coin to give it purpose beyond being related to Pigeoncoin/Ravencoin?

As just a thought about what this coin could do, Ravencoin (and I assume Pigeoncoin by association) is intended to be built around asset transfers, at least as part of its second phase of development.  I don't know all the details, but it seems like for some amount of coins, a token of some trackable quantity of whatever the asset is could be created and then managed as it transfers parties.  Utilizing that idea as part of CryptoRescue seems like a perfect fit: shelters could use this coin in such a way that animals and their details are tracked through the coin to give the animals a better shot at rescue.  The coin could possibly provide a real-time view into the state of the animals in need of rescue, from the time they enter the shelter to when they are adopted.  That could lead to being able to better serve people looking for particular breeds easily if they have this real-time information that takes all shelters into account.  Tracking information like time in shelter to adoption, species/breeds, locations more likely to adopt certain breeds at certain times of the year... that data could save the lives of animals that would otherwise be euthanized.  And after an animal is adopted, they are still an asset--it could be utilized to ensure owners of the animal are properly caring for it with vet checkups, for example, or when the animal changes owners, or helping recover lost animals easily (the asset ID for an animal could easily be related to its microchip).  As essentially a decentralized database of animals in shelters across distances, that could be a very powerful tool in boosting adoptions, quantifying adoption rates and hopefully simplifying work on the part of the shelters for managing the animals.

Anyway.  Best of luck to however the coin plays out, I'm hoping everything works out well.  If there's any coin I want to see succeed in its intended purpose, it's this one.

Triode, you talk about avoiding suprnova... Why? Is it not good?

I'm indifferent to suprnova, but others in this thread have been looking for options outside of it.  I find zpool to be very easy to get into since it doesn't require registering an account or anything.  I also like the yiimp style interfaces, personally, so that's another plus for zpool for me.

Through some indirectly-related searching, I found another POLY pool... this one more mid-sized:  https://pool.coin-miners.info/site/mining .  From what I've seen in the past couple days, this pool seems to have a consistent hash in the 1.6 - 1.8 GH/s range putting it at about 4-6% of POLY'S network hash.  Based on that site's "pool" page, it anticipates mining a block about every 50 minutes or so.  The pool's fee is 1%, which isn't very sizable. I've mined a few fistfuls of POLY there since discovering it.

Anyway... so long as the pool one is mining at actually finds blocks regularly (if a person mines consistently and fees aren't substantially different between pools) one should expect to earn about the same on average no matter the pool.  So, this one should be a contender in helping distribute the hash among other pools (in addition to Zpool.ca and Cryptohub.online) if people are interested in making the chain more robust.

Also, if the pool operators aren't making an effort to get their pool listed in the OP, hopefully the thread-owner can add the links to these pools in the original post(?).
Good find!  I'm switching to that one as zpool is having some issues right now with poly payouts.  Says it's low on the coin, not sure why that's the case.  Hashrate on it right now is tanking hard though, so coin-miners looks like a good one to work with for now.

For anyone looking for another POLY pool that has some momentum, zpool.ca is a yiimp style pool, I've been using it for a couple weeks now.  Pool hashrate is 550MH/s at the time of this post, it's been growing and has been a good option for avoiding the suprnova pool without having to use a pool with low hashrates.

I like the idea of POLY so I'm sticking around long-term for this one.  Might even contribute to coding up tools or whatever might be useful.
