With respect, but, could you guys please give it a rest?  Let the man do his job.  If the Exa-hash conference wasn't interesting enough for you to hold, then sell...

 Cool

+1

The man is in the middle of a new product launch/shipping/support, potential large scale deployment of mining gear for own operations and probably new chip design/tapeout. Pretty sure attending to the relentless whining and nagging from this thread is quite low on his list of priorities right now.

As for whether ASICMINER will ever return 0.17 btc over the rest of its lifetime, that's a bet that havelock traders are currently split on.

Which makes the question:

Does one believe that AM's total dividend payments will be > BTC 68k (the amount above 68k representing ones desired ROI) within ones desired period of investment return?

If they, last year alone, paid out BTC 240k in dividends, this doesn't appear to be -wildly implausible- even considering stiffer competition over hash rate. The time scale is key here.

As another example: To justify a price of BTC 1 per share, AM needs to pay out > BTC 400k (the amount above 400k again representing ones desired ROI) in dividends within ones desired period of investment return, whatever it is. Whether or not one deems this scenario to be plausible is up to each individual shareholder, and in a rational market (which this is clearly not), this will determine the share price.

(obviously this doesn't account for any tradable assets accumulated by the company, but it's a simple and way of looking at AM share valuation)

That train has sailed as AM doesn't have the money and the deployment capabilities to deploy a big scale self mining operation. FC could do it right as soon as he had chips in hand, but he didn't do it.

4) When will dividends start, and how frequently will they occur?
When the cash-flow becomes positive. After we decide to put significant quantity of chips on ASICMiner owned farms it should be per week. Before that, per month.

7) What is the status of self mining? What is the rollout schedule for the data centers?

8 ) What is the status of franchising partners? When can we expect to see income from them?
We will report the more detailed status to the board first. The short answer is that deploying and financing is easy while getting cheap electricity and proper device solution takes time. When we have farms running we can update the related information with real time hash rate.

Next round of shareholders questions July 2014 - gathering

Dear shareholders,

we've gathered 8 questions so far, still 6days until forwarding them to Friedcat. If you want to add something, don't hesitate to write it here, or in PM. Closing time for this round of questions is 1st of July 2014 12:00 UTC +01:00

Quote
1) Could you please provide an estimate on when the first dividend can be expected now? What is the estimated time of ASICminer to become cash-flow positive ?

2) What is the exact status of self-mining and franchising ?

3) How many PH/s of gen 3 have already been sold/shipped by now ?

4) Has the "60 PH/s batch" progressed any further? When is it supposed to be completely done? How much has already been sold ?

5) Given the ratio of 1/3 retained and 2/3 paid out of the revenue, is this after deducting costs for upcoming batches/expenses or are those part of the 1/3 of retained capital ?

6) AM sells chips to multiple mining companies including Rockminer, Datatank, Bitgarden, is it possible to get some clarity on the relationships AM has with different groups possibly not including the above ?

7) Could you give us a very rough estimate on when gen 4 can be expected. e.g. is tape-out still expected this year? Q1/2/3/4 next year?

8 ) Personal question from shareholder freedomno1 : Hi friedcat I have been receiving several requests for replacement baseboards/ power boards and parts for the block erupter cube and was wondering if their is a repair service or parts store available that I can relay to those individuals to contact with if something breaks.

Try not to have two or more questions baked into one. This practice begs for misunderstanding and/or incomplete/unsatisfactory answers. If we want clear answers we need to be very clear with our questions. I suggest we separate them into distinct lines so that each one must be answered in a standalone fashion:

1) Could you please provide an estimate on:
- When the next dividend can be expected ?
- When ASICminer will become cash-flow positive ?

2) Regarding self-mining and franchising:
- What is the current status of self mining and franchising ?
- What partners will be working with ASICminer ?
- What do the respective partnership agreements entail ?
- How many PH (including percentages from franchising) will -directly- contribute to ASICminer mining income ?

3) How many PH's of Gen 3 have already been sold/shipped by now ?

4) Regarding the "60 PH/s batch":
- Has this progressed any further ? (duh, of course it has, it's been a month. what, exactly, is it that we want to find out about this?)
- When is it supposed to be completely done ? (what are we really asking here? when is manufacturing due to be complete? or when will it be completely sold/deployed?)
- How much of it has already been sold ?

5) Given the ratio of 1/3 retained and 2/3 paid out of the revenue, is this after deducting costs for upcoming batches/expenses or are those part of the 1/3 of retained capital ?

6) AM sells chips to multiple mining companies including Rockminer, Datatank, Bitgarden, is it possible to get some clarity on the relationships AM has with different groups not including the ones above ?

7) Regarding Gen 4, can you give us rough (plus/minus a month or two) estimates on:
- When tape-out is expected ?
- When production is expected ?
- When the first chips will be in hand ?

8 ) Personal question from shareholder freedomno1 : Hi friedcat I have been receiving several requests for replacement baseboards/ power boards and parts for the block erupter cube and was wondering if their is a repair service or parts store available that I can relay to those individuals to contact with if something breaks.

Also, I would like to note that a lot of these questions are extremely business-sensitive, and if I was in FC's shoes I would definitely not answer them in a public forum.

Another client of ASICminer

btcgarden-AM-v1 sold out! New coming will be 21st June!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622439.0

i see that spoondolies shills are also trying hard in that thread ... so obvious  Grin raskul pointing on you

 Huh

my old btcgarden blades are in a box in a cupboard; obsolete.
This new generation will go the same way, long before Spondoolies-Tech SP10's are powered down.

disclaimer: i wouldn't normally retort with the mention of another hardware provider, but as the question was directly posed...
fact: i currently run a host of different supplier hardware and will keep buying the best deals that I can afford.

my personal purchases are none of your concern, but I do buy new rigs when they come on the market, as I like to keep up with the times.
So (and please keep the thread on-topic) How many btcgarden-AM-v1 have you purchased?

Lol, you are shilling another "plz preorder from me!" ASIC company?  Give me a break...

Gentlemen, can we please stop entertaining the existence of these troglodyte homunculi from spoonderp? Whenever they post here this thread invariably retards into a complete trollfest rodeo shitshow for several pages. I'm starting to fear for my mental health. My ignore button is already glowing red, but all this quoting is making my life miserable. If I have to read any more of their verbal diarrhea I suspect my mirror neurons might degenerate completely and turn me into a mongoloid.

I think the simple fact is that the newer shareholders haven't taken the time to properly educate themselves.

During the last round of hardware sales, AM priced and sold in BTC.  All hardware sales were easily tracked through the blockchain using the addresses that the group sales used to collect money, and it was all traced to AM and their "hardware" wallet.  The "mining" wallet has been known forever.

Because Bitcoin can move value around the world almost instantaneously, it was quite easy to collect and pay dividends.  There was NEVER the issue of converting (what would seem to be quite a bit of) fiat into BTC.  Yes, the Chinese exchanges have found "workarounds", somehow I don't see Friedcat standing in front of a Bitcoin ATM/"vending machine" with all the cash from hardware sales, nor do I see him wiring the money to the personal bank account of a CEO from a non-transparent exchange.

There's that logic again! We'll have none of that!

If hardware is sold for fiat which has to be converted into BTC, and all of the Chinese exchanges have been experiencing issues recently, wouldn't that potentially create a delay?  I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet.

Get out of here with your logic!

Didn't Friedcat also say that divs will probably be monthly instead of weekly moving forward?

He did indeed. Second hand, and stated as a probability, but still..

From Jutarul's q&a session with him:

"2) With the switch to selling chips, can we expect dividends to be paid out on are "more monthly" basis?
re 2) Most likely yes."

Re: Havelock Investments - Exchange feedback/comments
by
triptamine
on 31/01/2014, 11:45:17 UTC
Would it be possible to get a comment from Havelock regarding the hearings in NY and the projected way forward for the exchange?

The regulators sounded rather hawkish with regards to Bitcoin security exchanges and although this all went down in the US, and Havelock is based in Panama, we all know very well that the US government isn't exactly famous for minding their own business.

How does Havlock intend to deal with potential problems/threats thrown their way from the US (I am particularly worried about the lack of proper client identification)? I am based in Europe, but i suspect most of the clientele on the website are in the United States so I would not be the least bit surprised if Uncle Sam now wants to stick his nose right up into Havelock matters.

Thoughts?

Re: [HAVELOCK](SFI) Seedcoin Fund I
by
triptamine
on 21/01/2014, 17:26:10 UTC

Speaking of dividends, although regarding their initiation rather than their cessation: is there a tentative timeline for when shareholders might expect to see commencement of dividend payments?

SFI is investing in startups unrelated to crypto mining and therefore following the same rules as any other early stage startups, only those achieving a certain degree of profitability are likely to distribute dividends in the near future, 100% of those dividends as attributable to SFI stakeholding will be passed onto Havelock SFI unit holders. Some SFI startups are profitable but not all of them, early-stage startups are usually not profitable. As a seed-stage fund SFI aims at holding stakes of startups with a high probability of later stage investment (series A) at which time SFI will exit or sell out most of its shares and distribute 100% of the shares sale proceeds to the SFI unit holders via Havelockinvestments.com (as described in a post above).

Many thanks for the prompt answers. Much appreciated.

How long will the dividends be paid from the first fund? If the second fund is started the dividends from the first fund stops?

Why would they stop?
