what are you guys using for "open" cases with 4 cards?

Spreading the cards out as much as possible and strapping a fan to the top of them. That does the job.

What I meant was which test benches or cases or whatever are being used?

Vladimir, I'd love to see your cooling setups. I'm assuming you are in a datacenter with AC and exhaust.

You'll need to build one. Design and order a 4layer PCB containing the neccessary voltage regulators, clock generation and means of communication (JTAG, and maybe I²C, RS232 or USB?).

There are already some people running multi-FPGA mining setups. And yes, it does scale fully (~190MH/s per chip, can possibly be optimized even further), and if you also account for the PCB manufacturing and assembly costs, even more than that.

Build my own board? hrmm I could probably figure it out, eventually, as I do have some experience in other similar projects. But, there is no one that sells one?

This is an XC5VLX110T-1FF1136 running at 120MHz. If you want to build a dedicated mining board, I'd suggest placing a shitload of XC6SLX150 chips on it, and much less unused peripheral stuff.

so, those chips are $152 each

what is the board to put a shitload of them on? Has anyone tried this with more than one fpga chip? does it scale fully?

Can someone give me some tips on running 6 cards on this motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R

What are the "extension" cables I'd need? Anyone got a similar setup? what type of case / test bench do you use?

Looking to start with 6x 5830 / 5850 / 5870 mixed in and run a linux miner

so, assuming 5830 = 165w x 6 = 990, I'd need about 1200w worth of psu, any tips on that would be great too

shivansps, could you please describe how you have those Antec PSU configured to work together?
Thank you.

bridged the green cable of both psu

with something like this?

Got two computers setup like this so far.

Worthless cases can't fit 4x gpus, so they get relegated to table status.

can you give a breakdown of the hardware used? and temps?

cheers, thanks for the site!

What kind of hardware do you need for the "scrypt" based ones. I was looking at Litecoin

So, I'm running 0.2b now. When the next version comes out, can I just overwrite the 1st partition with the new iso and keep my persistent partition and my stuff with stay? or do I have to start over with each upgrade?

apparently I've been running the "bad" version, haven't noticed anything... what was the issue?

anyway, any ideas on my question above?

what are you using as a remote power switch? and can you link the watchdog software or whatever that is?
