HOW TO DISABLE SELECTED VIDEO CARDS on selected RIGs?
by
turdor
on 11/01/2017, 16:10:45 UTC
Hi Tytanick!

How to disable cards?
In case if some is not working properly and hanging all the rig, and I'm away from place?

In Win I can disable device or control it in Claymore di - 123xxx...
But here it will affect all the rigs so will not be useful.

thanx!

STATIC IP - how?
by

on 14/12/2016, 08:14:40 UTC
Hi tytanic!
Please, how to make IP static and also not affected by updates, so if I leave my rig for a long time I always can SSH to it?
And then the other way - how to bring it back to NAT?
Thanx!

Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - 95-178sol/s + v1032 Temp/Fan settings

Morning!
each day new update - wicked!!!
QUESTION: How to VNC/Remote Desktop?
is there any client installed? (Actually I realy like cleaniness and lightness of your distro, that's why I moved from other distros)

I did install TightVNC but have a grey screen problem.  Tongue

And a bit scared to mess with all those hook video drivers and so... I already lost stats on dashboard when using integrated video adapter (it's another reason to use VNC/RDT)
I also installed Firefox and jEdit (text editor, there is no text editor except nano, right?).

I did sucessefully installed also Teamviewer, but in my case I need some free local solution, so I can login to 1 local computer from internet over Teamviewer or AnyDesk (both free) and then to any of headless rigs over VNC/RT. Same way I can manage them locally much better and free then TW. Any ideas? May be alternative setup. Also I prefer remote desktop over remote terminal.

Cheers

R OS overheating workaround

Optiminer overheating problem workaround:

While Tytanick almost done with R1031 I found a workaround - you can run claymore custom (dualminer), and after you change back to optiminer rigs will keep low temp BUT only till hard reboot.
I tested it with dwarf EXP params if it's important.

Only hard reset helps (in my case) against WARN [stratum] Got work but have no extranonce!
but not OC param change

waiting for implementation )

also might be a good idea to leave previous miner version when the new is out - like stable/tested VS experimental/alpha

Manual FAN CONTROL in SimpleMinigOS???
by
turdor
on 13/11/2016, 11:42:06 UTC
Hi tytanic!

first of all thanx for amazing OS and all the effort!

Now I will NOT be original LOL:
HOW TO CHANGE FANSPEED manually in a headless multi adapter setup PLEASE?
As my cards are burning with optiminer where is no chance to control fanspeed like in claymore!!! Seems like I lost couple of cards last night - I don´t blame you, I do understand what I left its with poor "auto" configuration, just please give us instructions how to control fans i your OS.

aticonfig --pplib-cmd "set fanspeed 0 xx" do work only for 1st (0) adapter, DISPALY=0.1 also do not work.

is there a script on sturtup I can edit or smthing besidfes manually updating? May be you can just give us a script to run manually when needed till you implement fan control in OS?

I have R OS and 7950/r9 290 cards

anything!  Huh
Please help! I do not want to loose all my cards...

best  Wink

Nanopool, SIA:
after updating to 5.3 and changing to stratum shares accepted but never shows on account, workers are not visible in the list. For more than 2hr by now. Also I added another worker and changed names for the firs one. Triple checked everything and in miner shares shows accepted.

help plz!  Huh Embarrassed
Did you use the new guide for connecting?
1 day ago, nanopool changed how you connect to their stratum. Check their help page. For me v5.3 works fine, i see everything i need.

Yep, the new stratum guide, but on nanopool account page it's just not showing any of my miners... also tried to use old .bat with 5.1 - same  Cry

Hi, I'm converting/tuning my multirig setup to Claymore's...

Win (GPUz) detects only 5 cards of 6 (didn't tried 7 yet till 6 will work).
Any suggestions?

CHEERS!

Seems like fixed by Chipset Driver Update which driver seems to be lost after Win update... now testing for stability

CHEERS!

My system (all rigs are identical except videocards):
Win 10 Pro N (updated, original)
15.12 drivers
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming mobo
30GB mSATA with about 20GB for virtual RAM/free space
6x (7x) 7950 NOW ON TEST
5x 290 ROCK SOLID
mixed 280x/7950/290 (did not tried yet)
1700W PSU  (1800w max and I'm watching it not being overloaded)
Celeron 1840
4GB RAM (various brands)

I have few rigs like this, on Linux they do fine (EthOS).
Also it was 6 cards working w. Claymore's on this machine w identical setup but another same model HDD.
Other rig with exact same specs have 5x 290 on 60GB SSD and works rock solid w Claymore's.

HDD is a primary suspect? but looks strange.

Linux setup?
by
turdor
on 25/07/2016, 16:23:38 UTC
Sorry if the question repeated... but the search here is not that... hm perfect  Roll Eyes Grin

Few questions on Linux setup (or may be there is a guide on that available?):
1. Is Claymores DM works better (faster/more stable/else) on Linux as majority of miners?
2. Is it working fine on latest Ubuntu 16.04.1 or there is some advantages to setup it with 12.04?
3. Is there a ready Linux image?
4. How to remotely control it in Linux? (someone mentioned Wine), better if all farms together?
5. How is it better to make a multi-rig setup? I have 4 rigs in one location and 4 in the other with near future extension of rigs.
6. Security wise - how to protect my setup? (I'm relatively new to Linux)
7. I'm thinking on a one WIN machine + x Linux machines setup, so I can use Teamviewer for instance to remotely control all the setup.
8. Is AMD driver 15.12 version is same number on both WIN/Linux?

Thanx in advance for your time answering!  Huh Cool Wink
