how to start up bfgminer on raspberry pi after shutdown?
by
twistedbelly
on 04/02/2018, 21:38:40 UTC
This might be a simple question and im just missing something really obvious.
I just started messing around with a moonlander2 using bfgminer on a raspberry pi, and I had everything running fine, but I powered down the raspberry pi just to adjust the power adapter. I turned it all back on, but now I'm having trouble figuring out how to get bfgminer set up again and running.

When I set it up, I followed these instructions, and everything was working fine
https://steemit.com/raspberry/@qctechno/howto-install-futurebit-moonlander-2-usb-scrypt-miner-with-raspberrypi-3

Thanks in advance for the help

Any news?

Actually, I talked with the company that sold it to me (parallel miner) and they pointed out that the bottom line on the config was missing

That was an easy enough fix, and now it's working

More Options:   --avalon4-iic-detect

I also tried switching the cards around in the two controllers (they both came from parallel miner and are supposed to be setup for the avalon6)
Just thought I'd see if maybe the controller was bad

Still having the same problem though...

So looking at your screenshot your RPi is not seeing the AUC adapter that goes inline between the RPi and the miner. Until you fix that part, your Avalon will never be seen.

In the CGminer status page, just under the pools section you will see "Avalon Devices" This is where you should see your AUC adapter, if you do not see the adapter there, you have a cabling or an AUC problem.

Which AUC controller do you have? The smaller shrink wrapped version or the one with the hard plastic outer shell? They react differently so it is important to know which one you have.

Here is the controller I have connected
https://ibb.co/mffsmm

However, I also tried this controller, but I can't even find it on my network.

On the left?

Yeah....

And restarting CGMiner doesn't detect the miner?  Can't hurt to power cycle the A6 also

I tried that also.

Also, the avalon6 is only flashing a yellow light

Miner is idle..

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon6#Avalon6_LED

And it looks like CGMiner does not see your A6.   Restart CGMiner and see if that helps?

If not, is the Controller plugged into the correct 4pin on the A6?

Ya I noticed that it was idle
I have it plugged into the left slot (I have tried the right one also)
I did also try to restart cgminer as well

Thought 1 would be you need to give us some more information to help you. Can you see anything on the miner status page? Have you looked into the system logs for problems?

Here are some different shots of the setup (usernames/address deleted)

Let me know if there is anything else I can send. Thanks for the help

Avalon6 will register as a worker, but will not mine
by
twistedbelly
on 15/01/2018, 19:58:50 UTC
As the title states, I just bought an Avalon6, but I can't get it to mine.  I have tried on both viabtc and nicehash.  Both pools have recognized it as a worker, but it will not actively mine.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Dual mining ethereum and siacon on ethos - workers not showing on nanopool
by
twistedbelly
on 10/01/2018, 17:54:08 UTC
I thought I would try dual mining on ethos.  I had been doing ethereum without a problem, but thought I'd add siacoin and see how it'd work.
I checked on ethos and saw that the rig is actively mining both, and saw the hashrates of both.
However, when I go to nanopool I can see the current hashrate, but it does not show any "workers" down at the bottom.  Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help

Just came across https://hardwardia.com and I’m just curious if anyone else has used it.
I haven’t seen much on it

Thanks for the help

I started testing it a few hours ago. Really hope it's not a scam xD

What do you mean? Did you buy something from them?  If you don't mind letting us know about your experience, that'd be great! Thanks

Maybe they are affiliated with mining dudes.... won't hold my breath but you never know

Yeah me too sending them an email now.

Well it doesn't look promising when both the sales and support emails get kicked back as undeliverable.
