Did anyone calculate the rate every 20 days? Is 20% the yearly compounded rate (year 1) assuming PoS is minted every 20 days? So that's about 0.5% or so every 20 days (for comparison, Hobonickels pays out 2% every 10 days).

It's not minted every 20 days. The PoS STARTS after 20 days.

POS starts after 5 weeks as OP stated.

Minting starts after 20 days of holding the coins in your wallet.

Its in blue bottom of each of the sections and looks like Unlock  Smiley (I just checked now and the button is there Tongue )

it will unlock ->send you an email (check your spam folder)-> you click confirm and the page will show up with the boxes (password, payout add, etc.) being fillable.

The only thing is you must do this every time you need to change something or want the manual payout right away...kind of a hassle....

Ugh, thank you.  Nothing like being different than the rest of the pools...  Roll Eyes

I've seen other pools like that too...Wonder if its an option in settings, just to be a little more secure  Huh (prevents hackers from changing anything without email confirmation)

Can you please acknowledge the fact that your pool is holding our coins hostage?

Apparently "E-mail confirmations are required for editing your details, changing your password, and withdrawals", however, I have received no such email and cannot edit my payout address.

Did you click on "withdraw"/"unlock" to get the email to change everything? You won't get an email till you "Unlock".

doge needs marketing because it has no substance. we dont need marketing because we do have substance. granted we need to communicate the relevant facts about nxt in a calm and orderly fashion to those who are not aware of those facts. i suppose you could call that marketing. but this is what marketing means to doge, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3oiThw2RxE this we absolutely do not need.

Agreed their marketing "way" is different from ours but the simple task of educating people regarding Nxt existence is not.

+1

I have friends at school that know hardly anything of BitCoin, but have learned of DOGE as a result of all the marketing they have done.(not just because of the meme)

I tell them NXT, and they are like "what?"  Huh

NXT needs to be something for everyone, not just the techies. Something that everyone wants to use. Marketing can come in all ways, shapes, and forms. Of which DOGE has done so successfully so far. NXT doesn't have to follow the more comedic route that DOGE has done, but needs more marketing that is professional and can get the "average" person interested.

it is possible nxt cost 10 dollar in 4 years?

It's possible but it's impossible to know the future. Maybe, maybe not. Could be more, could be less.

In the same way as knowing back in '10 that BTC would be valued the way it is now back then. Likely hardly anybody could have guessed it.

Never seen nxt for promotion, look dogecoin, did not translate into value, technology is 0,because even the best technology can not be separated from operations.

agree...

DOGE got its current value because its community is fierce. They have a DOGE Foundation that helps do things within the community. They have donations to help communities out (Jamaican Bobsled team, Dogs for Kids, etc.), if it wasn't for that I don't think we would have seen the value of DOGE we do today. As a result of all that they have started to see their coin mentioned in the same sentences of BTC and LTC most of the time, be it weird meme or not. Nxt technical side is good, but we need more "real-world" use out of it like DOGE has done.

Please add Mintcoin [MINT]  Smiley

Quote
MintCoin is an innovative, secure and energy efficient PoW/PoS coin. It uses a faster PoW distribution mechanism to distribute the initial coins, then after 5 weeks the coin is basically transferred to a pure PoS coin, where the generation of the coin is mainly through the PoS interests.

MintCoin also adopt a variable PoS rate, which gives the highest payout at 20% the first year, then decrease 5% per year until the 4th year it reaches annual interest rate of 5%, then it will remain at this rate.

Because after 5 weeks it is basically a pure PoS coin, it does not need to be intensively mined, as the PoW payout will remain the minimum. Most coins will be generated through PoS, thus it is a coin that will save a lot of energy compared to other coins.

MintCoin will have a total of 70 billion coins. Initially each block will deliver 100000 to 900000 coins randomly. The PoW payout will be halved each week (7 days). After 5 weeks, the PoW payout will be fixed at 1 coin per block.

So I lost a bunch of coins today and yesterday with hashrapid, and now I'm still getting charged the 2% fee, even though it is supposedly waived.  Hashstrike has been pretty good, but tonight after 30 minutes or so I get a message in cgminer that I'm "temporarily banned" from the site and cpuminer loses the connection.  If I stop the miners and restart, they will work again for a while.

These 2 sites seem to have the largest amounts of miners, but I'm wondering if anyone else can recommend a good pool.

Thanks

coins4everyone is also a good pool that I used when both hashstrike was down yesterday while pool was getting fixed.

why is the forum getting DDos'd now? Maxcoin?

also, blocks are popping off all over the place this week, dunno if its 7.02 is more efficient or something, but I'm hitting a block every 8 hours or so with 330k coins. Payments are up too, over half are empty still but 110 paid in fees this week!

even though blockchain doesn't show all the blocks forged, it is showing the proper amount.. is it still on 5.11?

there is place for an app there, NXT password option

it lets you choose a password, and a login name, even use 2FA, and then it spits out a LONG RANDOM number, and enters it for you, seamlessly, like a BTC privatekey

So if you use this feature, you can log in and out with the app, and never have to know the brainwallet password, and all us Beta geeks can keep on remembering our

+1

I like this idea!

1.) User is given a "Login" account screen, where they enter a username and password.
2.) User then is required(unless they choose the "original" passphase route) to enter a username and password to login
3.) The username and password is then entered into the client where the client spits out something random like "FSFD#@$#@D32ewd326546$FDR$$#@EsaDAasafgryhtddDS

In order for somewhat to break into the account, the hacker must know the user's password and username they use for the account.
