Re: What if US Dollar Crashes?
by
tzman
on 15/05/2016, 18:44:22 UTC
For me, it's impossible US Dollar would crashes. Even if it crashes, other currency will take over US Dollar place, like Euro or Yuan.
I don't think bitcoin could replace it.

Fiat will just be replace by fiat also, when the dollar crashes most likely the euro will replace it as the top fiat currency in the world.
The chance is really small that the US Dollar can crash and that is because it is still many used so that is nice for the dollar itself and you see of course that Bitcoin is getting more used and that is nice.
But one thing that I can say for sure is that Bitcoin will be the most used payment method in the future.

Till bitcoin become the most used payment method it will need to became mainstream and just them it will be able to explode against the others ways, but there is something i hope that happens but not sure if this is going to happen soo soon.

Re: Why are Venezuelan not switching to Bitcoin?
by
tzman
on 15/05/2016, 18:36:29 UTC
Because you can't buy your groceries and gas with buttcoin

Technically you can, but this is assuming you aren't aware of the bitcoin debit cards thats provided.

Its been out for that last 5 months now or close to being a year almost. But what youre saying is right in some sense, if they just heard about bitcoin it`ll take them a couple reading around to find the debit card option.

The problem is that any transaction with current debit cards is that they are denominated in USD or EUR. There is the govt exchange rate and the black market exchange rate and they are hugely different.

Govt Exchange Rate: 1 USD = 6.30 VEF
Black Market Rate: 1 USD = 1,050 VEF

VISA/Mastercard would convert the bitcoin at the govt rate and now everything is hugely expensive.

I'll have to fix some info.

Currently there are two legal exchange rate systems:

  • Sistema de Divisas Protegido - Dipro (Protected Foreign Currencies [Allocating] System). This rate is set by the Government and it is used to import basic goods (food, medicines, etc.) and to pay pensioners who live abroad.
    Current rate: 9.9750 VEF/USD (bid) 10.0000 VEF/USD (ask)

  • Sistema de Divisas Complementario - Dico (Supplementary Foreign Currencies [Allocating] System). This rate is theoretically set by the market, however, according to the economist Luis Oliveros there is no evidence of such, hence it is likely to be managed as well. It replaced the Simadi in April and expectations since its announcement have curbed the black market value of the dollar.
    Current rate: 415.5879 VEF/USD (bid) 416.6295 VEF/USD (ask)

According to the Venezuelan Central Bank latest data the first one assigns 92.17% of the foreign currency and the second one the remainder.

As you can see there is already a terrible distortion in the licit market which is unsustainable since people who can get dollars at the most overvalued rate (mostly the enchufados, those with ties to officials) are able to sell them for a greater quantity of bolivars which will then be used to get more dollars and thus perpetuate a vicious cycle. Anyway, there is no hard currency left, not even to pay key contractors of PDVSA, to import food or medicines or to print money (Venezuela doesn't produce anything). The last bastion of the private sector, the brewing and food company Empresas Polar had to halt most of its production due to lack of dollars needed to pay for the inputs. The Government blames the "bourgeoisie" for the economic paralysis and it announced production plants will be seized.

With regard to credit/debit cards, there is no such thing as VISA or Mastercard in Venezuela as the national services are disconnected from the rest of the world and sums in foreign currency (cupos, quotas) destined to credit/debit cards are to be approved as well. If and when people miraculously manage to be granted foreign currency to be used abroad their credit/debit cards won't work overseas because of the debts accumulated by the Venezuelan banks with the electronic payment service providers.

My view about the use of Bitcoin in Venezuela based on SurBitcoin is that it is used mainly for remittances, in other words by Venezuelans living abroad who send money to their families also considering that 3/4 of the population are materially deprived and that the rich can always find their ways to expatriate their wealth directly in dollars. If affluent Venezuelans were interested in Bitcoin its local market wouldn't be so minuscule and skewed to the sell side.

As a final thought Bitcoin to function needs users who can satisfy their primary needs, electricity, computers, the Internet, knowledge. It can't be used in situations of distress due to the impossibility of fulfilling the minimum operational requirements.

Venezuela is like Argentina their currencies are very weak against dollar, the country rules the market exchange to be x ammount and the black market offer them dollars for 3times or more the real cost because they had limited people savings to an ammount daily or monhtly. There is no way out for those who live their to try to follow the rules or pay more for the same they could adquire by regular market. Its a nightmare to live there with such government control at the prices .

Re: Any safe way to grow my bitcoins ?
by

on 15/05/2016, 18:25:08 UTC
Just do signature campaigns because signature campaigns are easy and also very secure if you ask me.
You cannot lose a single penny by doing this it can only let you grow it.
yeah there is no risk that you will get when you get a bitcoin of the signature campaign. you just need to do a post on topic. in addition to getting paid from the post. You will also gain knowledge and so forth in this forum. it's like a double advantage you know

Signatures are the best way for the low work involved at them but cant post several without nonsense as will be called spam and a ban can happen for some days or permanent ,soo before you join be sure you understand that, and yes you will learn whiling posting .

Well thats a question to be handled over the next generations as i doubt we will be alive by 2140 thats when the mine of bitcoin should be over, but sure there is a concern since no more coins, what the miners will get to keep bitcoin security,or what will happen if the hash stop protects bitcoin what would be the next step?

Re: Why do people store their bitcoin on a file, or on paper?
by
tzman
on 15/05/2016, 18:14:00 UTC
I've been wondering for a while about this.
Why do people do it? I mean, if you use an online wallet, it way safer that having it stored on a file or paper which can be stolen at any time.

---

An online wallet has too much security for this. Like Two-Step Verification, or a pin code, etc..

this doesn't make sense to me, when you have your wallet online (web wallet or any desktop wallet which is connected) you are at much higher risk than storing it in paper form.

how can paper be stolen? they have to break into my home and steel a piece of paper!!!
I also think in similar way that there is no comparison between paper wallet or storing a bitcoin on file. paper info can be stolen if some one knows about it where as online info can be hacked as well.

Well i doubt you will loose paper information during an assault, only if you store the paper on the box with money and put there bitcoin keys  ,that way you can loose ,i have some information stored into the paper instead i save it online as easy gmail can be hacked these days, soo i store some information out of web,i use online wallet as well, but we need to protected our coins as we can.

Almost half of the things promoted on this website are obvious ponzi and scams. Before you enter sub category, there is a text says they do not monitor and be careful with these sites.
[/quote]

I didnt  read those till today, its good to know but they should let their members be able to choose which way they wanna to be scammed, soo they can announce anything here scam and nothing going to happen, anyway never trust fast cash money opportunities as they are being promoted if were legit we would be milionaires already.

Re: how much gonna be 1 BTC in a year?
by
tzman
on 15/05/2016, 17:52:16 UTC
400 - 600 range
it's a good price, imho.

$600 is simply a good price after the days of halving, at the same time if the price sustains it would profit users. Else once after the rise if gradual decrease in price happens the hate over it gets initiated among users who expect much on halving.
The halving will make several people dump their coins too fast no one should dump their coins even if they making 150% their investment hold to see where it can go,but this wont happend i would sell if i were on 70% profit atleast a part for sure, the market will let us know how are the community interested into make some easy and fast bucks.

Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED
by
tzman
on 15/05/2016, 17:50:20 UTC
There's still demand and supply. Now awaiting the results of halving Smiley

Halving is still pending and not happening yet. Demand today is very high because there are many buyers as for the coming halving.
But after the halving supply will decrease I think.
Well that'd be obvious since more than half of the bitcoin holders are expecting for an increase in value.
More and more people are getting into bitcoins because of possible profit.

Just to note isnt for possible profit is to make fast money with bitcoin, several companies offering their services and investing into bitcoin, whales as well making the pumps happend while in a while,if you lucky to be at the same coin that will be pumped well you can make 30x your investment, but its pure lucky ,i believe eth its on the radar of them ,soon or later it will achieve the 0.05btc its a question of when.

Re: Bitcoin Gambling is Exploding

This is all about quantity and in the future there will be a massive adoption of the future and that makes it even more awesome for the bitcoins and gambling sites.
You are only partially right about quantity. Because from what I know it is extremaly easy to create and operate bitcoin gambling site (at least compared to standard FIAT based gambling services)
That is the reason we have so many cryptocurrency casinos around. But in the end people will pick their top services and there will be only few really good casinos left.

It seems easy but there is also a lot of cases whereby even bitcoin top platform exchange also got hacked and are in serious trouble.
In most cases hackers just capitalize on lack of imagination and human error of operators.
Most of these attacks could have been reverted if owners weren't so stingy about providing additional money for security, backup, cold wallets.

And some of these 'attacks' were even fake - and covered exit scams of untrustworthy businesses.

This is a big issue ,and its better to collect 1 btc daily as fee then run away with 2000bitcoins in a day using the hackers attack to justify, but there are people outside that dont cares as long they achieve their magical number they scam the user instead on focus into give the best experience and be able to work out to grow their income ,possible making it reach 3-5btc daily with some hard work .

Re: When is it useful to borrow bitcoin?
by
tzman
on 15/05/2016, 17:43:29 UTC
When you indeed really need the money it can be worth it to borrow some bitcoins bit I still would never do this if I where you.
Its just not worth the risks that you have to take.
bitcoin borrow quite difficult, I suggest you borrow bitcoin when there is a business that is highly likely to give you an advantage, because then you can replace them quickly

Poloniex already offers their lend service, but you can offer any rate you wanna, there isnt a minimum fee to charge soo usually the loans there are around 0.03% meaning almost nothing,if they set the fee to atleast 1% or even 2% then rates above could be set by the members would be great.I doubt any reputable system will come lending money to anyone use where they wanna as btcjam and similiars programs, letting some scams build reputation and then run away.

by

on 15/05/2016, 17:39:12 UTC
Actually i'm not waiting the price for $100/bitcoin because if it happen, something big must be happened that make the price of bitcoin decrease so down.
of course there is a big news or major events so they can make bitcoin prices fell sharply even the news of fork bitcoin just give effect to the price dropped to $300. when I was very scared about the news ?
of course, if the price will drop to $100 need more horrible news

Last big drop at bitcoin happened when some user, group didnt were able to cashout their bitcoins from the exchange, the bitcoin went into 200 dollars in some hours, besides that i dont record any recent problem to affect the value of bitcoins.

Re: Gambling problem
by
tzman
on 13/05/2016, 19:32:20 UTC
I have found that if I gamble, I need to set rules and stick to them.  For example, I have only certain games that I will play and I limit how much I'm allowed to bet.  Also, after a predetermined amount of gain, I have to stop and after a predetermined amount of loss I have to stop.  It helps to have some rules to follow.
yeah I think even though I use a variety of rules and restrictions in the number amount to gamble. I doubt players will obey it. I think it will be difficult for the players to follow the rules. Most people will loose their control when gambling. although you've been using a lot of rules
Yes, many gamblers do set some rules and regulations to follow while they are gambling. But the tension and uncertainty of gambling would make most of the gamblers to breach their own regulations. I too feel this is the real problem of gambling.

To be honest, most of the gamblers dont even set rules and regulations. They keep thinking they have a limit to play but they always play more than they planned.
Gamblers has no control over their finances, they wanna just play, some of them are able to limit ,but usually you will always spend more then you thinked on the start.

Re: USD vs BTC
by
tzman
on 11/05/2016, 19:03:15 UTC
Both has got its own value. Dollar has a long back history which makes it more stable than all other currencies. Bitcoin has got a very small history, so I believe bitcoin and dollar should never be compared. Both grow on its own way as both were independent of each other.
Makes no sense at all we compare these two currencies as bitcoin isnt mainstream ,and its value total at the moment are around 7 bilion dollars the market cap of dollars are far away from bitcoin and its a number that bitcoin cant achive and wont achieve as they got a limited supply.
