The focus of many replies here is based on comparing Ripple to Bitcoin - but shouldn't we really be comparing it to Visa or Paypal?
Currently I have to have a paypal account if I want to send money to another person who has a paypal account.
It seems the point of ripple is that it allows us to pick our own gateway - the gateways do not need to be dependent on each other, we just need to trust our chosen gateway.
Short term: Yes, exactly. Ripple is perfect for this.

Long term: People may use Ripple to do things completely different from what they currently do with Bitcoins and with payment systems.

what else could they use it for?

The delays might be due to them trying to figure out how to spend the millions that have already collected and or count the millions they have already collected. I wish I was involved in this BTC game earlier, who doesn't say that, but I may have tried to create my own damn ASIC. How can it seriously take this long. Dis eez boooshit.

so f**ng true. Feel like banging my head on the wall every damn day that I didn't get involve earlier.

Re: Where do you see bitcoins in 5 year?
by

I think bitcoin is getting more powerful everyday as more people are learning about it and therefore using it or even mining. I can only find 3 reasons for which the bitcoin will not be thriving in 5 years.

1) The government makes it illegal claiming its a threat of security because its anonymous and its being used in illegal markets. (war on drugs etc)
Not that this would stop bitcoin completely as it would still being used for illegal reasons.

2) Internet crashes.

I read somewhere that it could be regulated. Which means put taxes on it. This would also be a wound but not that severe to stop something that will be too powerful by the time its regulated.

The 3rd scenario is that bitcoin is SkyNET and it will take control of all the machines(and Arnold).
In that case all we can do is stop mining, sell all the bitcoins and pray for John Conor^^   Angry

I pre-ordered mine about a week ago, and customer service said the goal was June for new per-orders, sooner if possible. They still havn't gotten the first batch out first, but this could just mean that once they get the existing orders filled they will be able to process orders much faster. So you are looking at anywhere between May-October Roll Eyes

Kinda like how BTC's value by then could be between $15-$120 ^.^

which one did you order man?
haa i remember BTC's value around december being 6pounds/9$ and i chose not to buy bitcoins..
really..really smart choice Roll Eyes  Tongue

Considering investing on the jalapeno or the little single.
People who have more knowledge of me on bitcoin mining- nearly everyone-  please give me some advice.
Is it actually worth investing considering that if I pre-order it now I will have it by June? (according to butterfly labs office)

on 06/03/2013, 00:57:37 UTC
hey, i have been searching trying to find some info on how to setup an external graphics card to my laptop so i can mine decently..
Everything that i have found have been rather confusing and not so helpful..does anyone know how can i setup one? i know it might cost a lot but i prefer connecting an external card then getting a desktop..
i am interested into making an amd radeon to an external card for my laptop..if you have any suggestions for a card that would be suitable as external please recommend..

Thanks in advance

Bunnyrun payout

Hi, I tried yesterday night bunnyrun and won some btc, but it still hasn't paid out.
Do you know if there are any issues with the website atm or is it just a delay?
From what I have read in previous posts bunnyrun is one of the sites that always pay out.
Thanks
