mmh, I though the goal of BC is not to mine and make profit but to create some real value and trade.
good that miners drop out then, good for the BC market saturation.

if this would have happened to me (mybitcoin) , I would start using a local wallet, encrypt it, save (usb, cd) but don't let anyone else make promises.
after mtgox, mybitcoin and the polish exchange I feel insecure what matters sufficient security needed to handle my money.

Connection timeout to britcoin.co.uk from Ubuntu 10.04/Firefox/Opera

Hi,

I get a connection time out error every time I try to access britcoin.co.uk.

I am having this problem since I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx). I don't get a connection from Firefox 5.0 or Opera (latest) and I tried two PCs (both have the same setup). When I switch to Win7 though it will load the site from within both browser. I remember that before upgrading it was fine.

Other exchange sites work ok, including intersango.com, which has the same server software running as britcoin I think.

I am looking at this problem since the beginning of June and wonder if someone experienced the same.

cheers
