Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning

Let's just say that the value of BTC were to continue its pattern from the last few years.  If that were the case, the value of BTC would spike dramatically over the winter of 2014-15.

-Now, how would a person acquire a large sum of BTC before that happened?
-How could that person ensure that the price of BTC was suppressed just long enough (you would need a lot of BTC), eventually removing the walls and enabling a quick, emotional bull ride?
-What if you could tie up so much BTC on the market, that investors would be unable to sell off BTC during the pump, increasing the speed and height of the BTC price climb based on the appearance of unavailability and apparent demand.
-Perhaps you wouldn't even need to acquire a large sum of BTC, maybe you could just borrow it for a while...long enough to make a profit and then give the BTC back.  (like butterfly labs!)
-Now, where could you get (borrow) millions of dollars worth of BTC?  Could you make people believe that they had a lot to gain by letting you borrow hold their BTC right before the value of BTC skyrocketed?
-What if you don't know the exact date that BTC will rise, but you have it narrowed down to the winter of 2014-2015?

Oh conspiracy theories lol...
...but if that thought process led to the "creation" of ethereum, wouldn't it just be the greatest scam in crypto yet!  Hopefully that isn't the case, since I bought a few Smiley

All,

I know it has been a long time since you heard from me.  I apologize for my past and future absence from the cryptocurrency scene, specifically the Ultracoin movement.  Due to a series of life-altering personal and business events I was forced to step away.  My absence was both unpredictable and unavoidable - so much so that all of my crypto holdings two months ago were abandoned and I have only just recently had the opportunity to calculate my losses... which is never fun.  Of course I know better than to bag hold a diverse portfolio of such volatile assets over such a long period of time (two months is ages in crypto trading), so I got what I deserved.  I am only sharing this information to demonstrate how dramatically and suddenly my focus was shifted.  Thank you all for not crucifying me for this...and if you did it is beyond my knowledge, because naturally I have not had the opportunity to review the last 100-200 pages of the UTC thread.  Hopefully when my current situation settles down and I have time spare, I will be able to reestablish my presence in this community.  Thanks for your time and understanding.

One last thing...

Of the few pages of the thread I did have time to review, I have to say that I am impressed by the efforts of rapture3333 and some of the community members who I don't even recognize.  For those of you who dedicate your time and attention to UTC, keep up the good work.  Anyone with business experience knows that 99% percent of success is preceded by periods of failure, learning, and adjustment.  Your commitment is commendable.

For those of you who sit on the sidelines and watch, wait, and critique the actions of the UTC Team, I encourage you to remember that this is a new frontier, and regardless of how the UTC Team tries to advance this crytpocurrency, never overlook the fact that they are taking the time and putting forth that effort.  Never take for granted or under-appreciate the value of the determined and committed few.

Good luck to all - hope to talk to you soon.

I know, that dcgirl put in a tremendous amount of work...everyday.  Yet, many continued to poke and prod, pounding their fists like greedy children who never learned how to appreciate or respect.   Let me just say, the writing is on the wall.  It is likely she will not return, and it is your fault.  Regardless of the current value, she worked tirelessly, with a sense of commitment to everyone here.  That was her motivation, it was all of you.  YOU took that from her, and ultimately pushed her away from us.  Whether directly or indirectly it didn't matter, she was UTC - and all of your comments and gripes and complaints impacted her directly.  It is your fault and all of us now how to live with that.  Of course not ALL of you are at fault, but damn, if the shoe fits...don't be afraid to wear it.

what's wrong with dcgirl? leaving?

Read back a few pages.

today at the cost of a few coffees and phonecalls - I have managed to get 8 votes added to UTC on coinpayments.net

this is more than 10% of the total votes for UTC - and it was pretty damn simple.

one more vote if one of my kind helpers finds her deleted confirmation email from coinpayments Sad

PLEASE VOTE - and get some friends, family, dog, cat - hell anything............ to vote.  Not may days left - UTC has to win.

Its IMPORTANT for UTC to gain this credability - and you will be rewarded many times over with price rise.

GO AHEAD - VOTE NOW PLEASE

https://www.coinpayments.net/vote

https://www.coinpayments.net/vote-thanks

Dont forget to open and confirm your vote in the email that coinpayments sends you.

and keep buying these ridiculously cheap UTC.

BRING ON THE ANDROID WALLET

Thanks to the devs - your work IS APPRECIATED

This is the type of dedication that is inspiring to others.

There is an illusion that is created by the stock market modeled crypto-trading community -that you are investing in a company.  Unlike a cryptocurrency, a company is run by a CEO, one who is handsomely compensated by the hour, allowing him/her to live securely.  A company is supported by employees, who also have security in their salaries or hourly wages.  Ultracoin is not a business, it is not a company.  The UTC board members are not employees.  Ultracoin is a movement, supported by volunteers.  Remember this, because it is the aforementioned illusion that has corrupted our community.  One disillusioned individual recently posted that their job was to buy UTC and sit back, maybe troll every now and then, and complain on the forum...  smart.

I joined the team and VOLUNTEERED my time for one reason.  Not because I am simply a heavy bag holder, I hold many heavy bags, UTC is but one.  Not because I am bored, I have my own business to run in order to provide for my family -who hates when I stay up all night organizing information to conduct a professional and fair giveaway and promote a voting contest.  No... I joined the team because I was tired of watching and waiting.  I thought, damn, dcgirl and others are working their asses off with a lot of pressure, because of their passion...not just greed like most others.  I wanted to step up.  So when I attempt to promote community involvement, I am not asking anyone for anything that I was not willing to give up myself.  That is the first rule of being a leader of any kind.

Some nights, I work till the wee hours.  Some nights I come home and spend time with the family.  Most nights I come home and try to do something to help UTC succeed.  More often than not, that time is spent doing things that are not immediately obvious to everyone -regardless, I am doing what I can personally afford.

Let's get some things on the table.  Lets be honest here, we're all adults (I think...)

We all know UTC has some issues.  Some things that need to be fixed yesterday.  Be realistic in your expectations, be smart with your words, be humble in your opinion, and be strategic in your approach.  If you see something that is broke, fix it.  Any volunteers ever been turned down around here?  Doubt it.

Some of the UCMs out there are amazing.  Some of you continue to inspire me and take ownership of Ultracoin.  If the rest of you want some brilliant guidance... read the part in blue a few times over.  I will continue to do what I can with what I know.  Which typically isn't more than you, because the moment I know something, I release that information.  If you want to talk to just to hear yourself talk, well continue posting randomly on here.  If you want to be taken seriously, than take it a step further.  Reach out and get in direct contact with someone.  Don't be just another goofy name posting garbage on the forum, act.

I will continue to push valid, constructive feedback to the team.  You can rest assured that just about everything you have posted has already been discussed at length during board meetings.  I know in the absence of information there is anxiety and confusion, and that is the number one problem that needs to be fixed.  I am giving my best towards finding solutions.

And for those who the shoe didn't fit... thanks for all that you do.

"It's not what you say that counts, it's what you do."

COMMUNITY LEADER MESSAGE:

In a recent discussion with UCM b3da, he stated, "UTC is highly usable cryptocurrency. There is simply no time to lose in some moments. But, to take the coin seriously, to use it as a business instrument, you need infrastructure. I take this as stepping to the next level, every vote counts." For this reason, he decided to contribute to our cause and donate two aluminum wallets as prizes.  "They can serve as practically indestructible cold storage... as well as an everyday, convenient way to use your favorite cryptocurrency!"

Earlier this week we had several other UTC donations from some of our most generous UCMs and core team members.  Those donations were pledged based upon various stipulations associated with CoinPayments.net voting.  Sadly, we did not reach our 100 votes by Wednesday (Goal 1) or by Saturday (Goal 2).  However, we did have some outstanding participation and support that drove Ultracoin to its current first place position.

With that, several UTC donors have agreed to give the UCMs one more opportunity to win some UTC.  5500 UTC in total, along with two Ultracoin aluminum wallets.  All we have to do is keep UTC at number one and win this voting contest -which we WILL DO with your continued support.

Voting ends March 31st.  The drawing will conducted on June 1st.  The prizes are set:

1st Place: 3000 UTC

2nd Place: 1500 UTC

3rd Place: 1000 UTC

4th Place: Ultracoin Aluminum Wallet

5th Place: Ultracoin Alluminum Wallet

Any last minute donations will be added to the first place prize pot.  All entries must be submitted by email to ultracoinx@gmail.com along with confirmation that you voted and your bitcointalk username for tracking.  All listed entrants, algorithm for random selection, and winners will be available for review.  Winner will be required to respond within 5 days on this thread before being prizes will be released.  Best of luck to all voters.  Special thanks to all of those donated their precious UTC for to support this.  And thank you, b3da, for donating two of your aluminum wallets.  Excellent examples of why we call Ultracoin a "community coin".

Prize wallet:  UPMBqYo5idGrCUop212N29DLNFNV4KNiTe  (feel free to donate and post to thread if you do.)

Also, please check out Ultracointalk for specific topics of discussion.  Did somebody say twitter bot?  Lets discuss, what is it; why do we need one?

Have a great week.

Speaking of trollboxes.  I am of the opinion that Poloniex is the best place to grab up new investors.  I monitor all exchanges, all day long.  I have been doing my homework, so trust me on this.  There is a lot of BTC flow at polo these days, and for some reason, almost all hype is created there.  Its amazing to watch.

Well utc getting delisted of POLO? or not?

After they posted it, the UTC Team got in touch with them and requested some more time and another look once we make the necessary changes.  Pending.

This isn't penny stocks, this is a currency we're creating. If you want a get rich quick scheme go to Wall Street. The USD has been around for 100 years, Bitcoin has been around for 6 years, Ultracoin has been around for 4 months. Get a grip, it is going to take time. Time is the biggest factor in all of this. Ultracoin still has untapped potential just like every other coin does. It is going to take time to tap into that potential, and that is what the Dev team is doing, that is what DCgirl is doing, that is what Bumface is doing and all the other devs. If you want to make changes, be the change you wish to see.

Crypto is supposed to be a departure from central banking, that means grassroots activism is the answer. If you have a problem with the devs, look at a mirror first. If you want Ultracoin to succeed, it is a responsibility we all share. I know most people don't like responsibility, but that is the consequence of living in a FREE society with a FREE market. If we don't want the central banks ruling over our currency, then we must create our own. Ultracoin is our own currency, and in my opinion it is one of the best. I don't know what brings you all to crypto, but personal responsibility is one of the central tenants of being free. If you can't stand responsibility, then buy USD or government bonds.

Look at the Ron Paul campaign, completely grassroots, people were dedicated, passionate and willing to work. When things went wrong I don't think people complained to Ron Paul and said, "Ron Paul, why aren't people listening to you? Why aren't the media stations airing your debates? Why aren't they treating you fairly? Why are they changing the rules?" No, they looked in a mirror, and they did something about it. That is what the cryptocurrency movement must do if it wants to survive. Bitcoin is a shining example of that, but there are hundreds of alternative currencies out there that want a piece of the pie? I don't think most of those alt currencies are worthy of attention, but I think Ultracoin is worthy. The fastest cryptocurrency in existence, and all some people can do is complain.

We are standing on the shoulders of giants, but if we want Ultracoin to go mainstream, we cannot only rely on 5 people in the dev team. That is not how grassroots works, that is not how it is supposed to work. There are hundreds of alternative currencies out there, and most of them WILL FAIL, many you may have already invested in have or will fail when the novelty rubs off. If you want Ultracoin to succeed, no-one is going to make that happen faster for you then you can. What skills do you have that can benefit the cause? Are you an artist? A musician? A videographer? A marketer? A salesman? A business owner? A journalist? What can you do in your unique position that can benefit Ultracoin? You must ask yourself this and think about it, we are all powerful enough to make a difference, but we need to act on our skill sets because who else will do it for us?

I can tell the Devteam is sick and tired of seeing people complaining, for sake of argument let's say they are doing all they can. If that's true, than what does that mean for us? Voting is literally the last you can do. It's time we reach out to our friends and family and get them interested in crypto and then Ultracoin. It's time we reach out to the business owners and professionals and talk to them about how they can implement crypto into their lives and how it will make their lives better. We, as a community, need to brand ourselves as not just another cryptocurrency, but a unique, powerful, and mature coin that is different from the rest, but is also useful and practical use in real world applications. I am stunned to see so many people treating Ultracoin like it is a penny stock. If all you look at is dollar value, then you are not seeing Ultracoin for what it really is. Doge coin is worth close to nothing! But it is extremely powerful, why? Because it has a strong grassroots community that stand behind it and support it. I don't know how many of you have ever been involved in business, but there is no easy way to success, the pioneers mark the trail with sweat and blood and the rest follow, some succeed in their footsteps, but the rest have to find their own way. I am ready to help Ultracoin find its own way, and I am here for the long haul. So if you are too, and if you are passionate about Ultracoin just as I am, then I invite you to stand beside me and I will support you as we push forward into the darkness and see what's on the otherside. To me Ultracoin is more than an investment, it is a MOVEMENT. So buckle up because its gonna be an interesting ride.

Couldn't have said it better brother.  This isn't one of those cryptos where the dev team has missing, or has deceptive plans, or is unclear about what is going on.  The team here has declared this a community coin.  Meaning, if you want to make changes, suggestions, etc. do it (professionally, email someone maybe).  We are listening and want to recruit as many talents as possible.  5 people + part time = not moon.  We need more help and support.  We need a mass marketing effort, powered by you, to share our continuous good news.  I'll tell you what we don't need, angry individuals who never made a single contribution to this movement, coming on the main place for potential investors, and venting FUDtastically.  Talk about backwards thinking...  Do you guys normally go on the troll boxes and trash talk the coin you just bought lol?  Let's be smart folks.  Frustration and despair are signs of weakness and chaos.  Neither of which accurately represent the UTC team.  Also the Devs that work so hard with no compensation see your complete and utter lack of appreciation/support for what they are, and have been doing for UTC and you.  Bashing volunteers doesn't go far when they are working for you, for free.  You are not investing in Google or Apple, where people make a salary for bolstering your investment.  Now listen to rapture333, this guy obviously knows what he is talking about -and has my respect because he has stepped up and volunteered his talents.  Great job rapture333 with all you do for this community.

All we do is wait, wait and all UTC do is go down, down... Soon all people leave UTC, unfortunatelly. 60 ppl who voted in the whole world! That's just sad. I give UTC a few days more and I'm leaving so you got left with 59 Smiley
I wonder who sell this, but whoever do this keeps the price on the same level roughly 2 cents, this must be profitable for him. BTC is going up not to mention DRK - that's a phenomenon in todays crypto world and UTC is falling, of course.

You do realize that when something gets pumped very fast people panic and sell whatever is not moving to buy into it.  When it stops moving or falls, people exit the train ride and reenter the coins they pulled out of.  Look around the board, this is happening everywhere.  Natural process.  When UTC starts moving, the same thing will happen, other coins will come here.

Great discussion tonight everyone.  It was great to see the community come together -that is the reason why Ultracoin is a community coin.  The community supporting UTC and UTC supporting the community... that is a rare in crypto these days.

Someone said something about UTC dying.  Let me encourage you not to panic.  UTC has faced many obstacle in the past, as it is at this very moment.  If we have all learned one thing while supporting this coin, its that we overcome every obstacle. Our unique in our ability to adapt and overcome is unparalleled.  Most organizations and businesses face hard times, but all successful people will tell you that the downfalls and failures along the way allow you to learn the important lessons which you would've never learned otherwise.

The UTC team has a lot in the oven right now.  If you were apart of the IRC discussion you probably realize that amazing things are about to happen for those who are willing stick it out and continue supporting Ultracoin.

Lets push panic to the side and remained focus.  Currently we have voting going on still at CoinPayments.  We are currently #1!!! Let's keep our lead.  Continue to encourage others to vote!!

We also have a drawing on Sunday.  The results and full details of the drawing will be posted and verifiable.

Next week is going to be a great week for UTC.  A lot of change, and change is good.

Hi there,
Long time no see, been kind of busy and still am.
Anyway, wanted to share with you that there was this crazy 10'000BTC pizza day anniversary a few days ago.
I asked to myself: why not making the 10'000UTC pizza day someday? Someone willing to spend 10kUTC on a pizza?
Then all we need is advertise the fact that we got the pizza warm and not cold because payment was so quick, hehe

Dude, that is funny....

...Wait what is this...

"Face it: this coin is dying.
Who likes the sight of a decreasing exponential?"

Everyone relax.  We are at the turn around point for Ultracoin.  If the UTC Team is quiet right now it is because the focus is on the payment processor at the moment.  That is #1.  Priorities.

Once we win this damn vote process we can move forward.  There are so many ideas coming from the Board its like drinking from a firehose.  Have faith.  And please don't complain about ANYTHING if you have done NOTHING to visibly support the ultracoin efforts.  I can think of a few people that should be complaining but don't.  Imagine what it feels like to sink all your time and efforts into the coin while everyone sits on there couch eating popcorn and watching the charts and getting upset the price is dropping.  When you get mad the that volume is down, look at yourself in the mirror and think, what am I doing about it?  You want the price to stop dropping, go do some promoting on the exchanges.  I love you all but, its tough love right now.

Ok folks, here is the deal:

Our voting is going great as you are all aware!  Great support an initiative on behalf of all the UCMs out there.  As you also know, there were many pledged donations for a giveaway.  Just to keep you all in the loop, I am currently working with the treasurer to get all of the donations into the "Giveaway Wallet".  I want to ensure that the pot amount is accurately represented when I post it, along with the date and time for the drawing.  There were some additional donations, which I will elaborate on when I provide the update later.  I would like to say the information will be posted today, but we are all in different time zones and I want ensure that everyone has a chance to get their pledged donations into the giveaway wallet first.  Once the pot has been consolidated I will release the final update.

This will be our biggest giveaway to date!  Stay tuned and do your best to make sure we meet the 100 vote requirement set forth by the donors.
