JAXX doesn't support UnitedBitcoin yet, however we're looking to add external wallet support.

It is always recommended to transfer your BTC to another wallet before importing your private key elsewhere. Though our software is open-source and you can see it is safe, it is generally a best practice to be prudent

Yes, it is safe, our source code is available for anybody to see on GitHub, however it as a general best practice, we advise everybody to move their Bitcoin to another wallet first before importing your private key in the UnitedBitcoin wallet. This will ensure that it is impossible to touch your Bitcoins.

BIP38
If you have wallets under BIP38, you can decrypt with this https://www.bitaddress.org and then import the private keys on a UnitedBitcoin compatible wallet

Description:
UnitedBitcoin is a split from Bitcoin with a protocol upgrade to fix on-chain scalability issues, as well as add new features (PoW based smart-contracts, lightning network, etc.)

This will be a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain, 1:1 ratio of active addresses, manual distribution of inactive addressess followed by the first cross-chain distribution of supported cryptocurrencies after January 3, 2018.

Remember, we never ask for your private keys, don't give them to anybody.
