There are others out there that will happily (and safely) sell you steam games for BTC. Buyer beware of course Smiley

"The Whiteman" had at least 4 different accounts with the bitcoin forum. Maybe mods should be looking into multiple accounts from the same IP and checking into that sort of stuff, but that would probably turn out to be a lot of work for a whole lot of nothing.

thewhiteman, aka godfreyandthandi, aka the-3dayer is a scammer. Not a particularly brilliant one, but he did grab 6 bitcoins from me lol. Mostly my bad for falling for it.

thewhiteman posted a thread selling steam games. I agreed to buy portal 2 for 11btc. The Whiteman added me on steam and we agreed I'd send half first and he'd send me the game as a gift, I'd send the other half afterwards. I sent 6btc and he said he Had just installed bitcoin from a fresh reformat, so the block chain was still building. Whatever.. The hockey game was on so i told him to send the game whenever he saw the transaction.

When I came back hours later, the window was still open but he appeared offline. I clicked on his profile and was redirected to godfreyandthandi's profile - along with a message that the user was blocking me. Classy.. The comments on his profile were the same as before, but he did change the city and state he was in.. Almost untraceable! Lol.

Came back to the forum where I noticed that he had replied to his original thread under this username as well, in response to a price request. Actually there's also at least a third login that he used on the same thread.

Or of course you could use some of that money to send me the copy of steam I paid you for before you blocked me on steam and changed your profile name?
Excuse me?

Ah, darn it. I was sure I switched back to proportional, but alas, double checking it, I was still on PPS!

Thanks guys, should be good to go now.

Been using the pool since Slush's meltdown, it's working great so far. The statistics ain't working for me though, always says my reward is none for every round. It worked for the first day, then I think I changed from proportional to PPS and the stats stopped working. I've since then changed back to proportional but the stats still don't work. Am I missing something? Smiley

The pool's size is down considerably, so you're taking a much larger share of each block.. It's also taking longer to solve a block, obviously, but that looks pretty good to me Smiley

No offense taken. There have been a few threads lately of people selling steam games under retail price - either because they got them for free or in one case, because he had $300 in his steam account sitting there and he needed cash (BTCs in this case).

Just fishing to see if there are any bites, you never know Smiley

Yup, my confirmed payout has been over the threshold for 3 hours, no payment. Also 3 invalid blocks in a row starting at 16.50, so the last 8 hours or so seem to have been wasted..

the sapphire 5850 extreme seems to be the best mining card for a budget build right now.. Mine runs at 320MHash/s with a very mild overclock, could easily run at 350 if I wanted to run the fan at higher speeds. I don't think it can be beat at less than $150!

Oh definitely, I know it ends up even in the "end". I prefer the lower variance for sure, and hindsight is always 20/20! I had no way of knowing if I'd hit a block in 5 days as I did, or 25.. So it was definitely worth having the steady flow coming in to know everything's working nicely.
