Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux)

I'm having problems getting Claymore to launch. I'm running Adrenaline 19.2.2 drivers. Claymore launches, and then just sits and does nothing. eventually closes. I noticed that AMD settings won't lauch, which I take to be the problem. Did some googling and tried uninstalling the Intel integrated graphics driver. no help. Process is (hooked up to internet)
Reboot in safe mode.
DDU clean restart
install 19.2.2
restart
pixel clock patcher
restart

The computer sees the GPUs  both in device manager and in GPUz, but radeon settings will never launch. I see it in the system tray, but it never opens.

Up to date windows 10 OS. HDMI dummy in one fot he GPUs.  Same setup works on other device.

Change the graphics display to IGFX in BIOS.
Connect the dummy HDMI to the motherboard slot.
DDU and install the latest version of the drivers. Patch if GPUs are BIOS modded.
Then run the miner.
It was already set to IGFX. I'm consistently getting the " Miner failed to initialize. need to restart." I'm running Windows 10, fully updated, but so are my other machines.

Installed new Adrenaline drivers. Trying to install the pixel clock patcher but it's saying that the driver file is too large? WHAT?!

Hi all,

having a problem that i defeated once before, but struggling with again.

Reinstalled Adrenaline drivers for 18.2 (which have been working perfectly for a long time). Windows updated which blew everything up. no matter what i do, it still updates every few months. When I open claymore v 15, it gets through detecting the GPUs and then starts to "build Open CL" and then closes. adding "pause" doesn't give me any more info. In GPU-Z, i see that Open-CL is not checked for any of my GPUS (470s and 570s). In my troubleshooting notes, I have that not having a monitor attached can cause this, but there IS a monitor attached, so i'm a little perplexed. something with the computer doesn't see Open CL. I'm not quite sure why. I'm using software and hardeware that i've used consisitently for the past 2 years.

To be specific, here is the log

20:10:29:922   e80   ETH: 1 pool is specified

Have had a 6 GPU machine running for months just start to crash. Running V11. 2 other 6 GPU machine clones running fine. Rig is on for about 6 hours and then gets the wonderfully non-specific kernal 42 power error.

Maybe just a bad riser after all this time of constant running? PSU is an EVGA 1300w. No settings in OVerdriven are being reset so doesn't seem like the driver is unhappyand resetting cards or anyting like that.

ok, i have no idea what's going on. I am on windows 1809 like my other rig. I updated to v12 and driver 18.8.2, but OpenCL is not installing/ is not checked on gpu-z therefore, claymore won't start mining. i have DDU'd, re-installed, patched, etc a thousand times and nothing is working. What am i doing wrong?!

I'm still having problems with a previously working rig now giving a black screen/stop mining, but rig is still powered on (soft crash). Could this be a SSD error? It was running 5 GPUs OC'd, undervolted. running at 750w on a 1K platinum PSU. Even at stock clocks, the rig still soft crashes. All i get is the kernal error 41, so no help. Is this a symptom of bad riser? What i'm doing now is running things OC/UV but taking a gpu completely out of the equation with each subsequent crash to find the bad riser or gpu. Thing is, hwinfo reports 0 errors on anything.

Help get my rig back to stable!

My miner is randomly turning completely off. Kernal Power error 41

So here's the situation. 5 GPU (2 570, 3 580) with a 1000w corsair HX1000i

Machine has been running great for the past 5 months. Swapped out a 580 that a friend wanted with a 470. Hard drive crashed, so i got my backup files and reinstalled windows ect. Saved the config file for Overdriven so i have the same clocks and everything. Even when running WITHOUT the new gpu (so 4 cards pulling 600 from the wall), it will crash and give me the kernal power error. The only difference between software in the old install and the new install is I used radeon adrenaline 18.12 instead of 18.9. Could the new driver be the problem? When the computer does restart, i get the radeon warning that default settings have been applied to the GPUS. Even with the overclock, I am getting 0 memory errors in hwinfo. I'm HOPING the answer is to DDU and go back to 18.9, but are there any other reasons ya'll can think of? Is there a way to see which gpu is causing the crash?

Here's a new one for you:

Going back to Fall Creator Build 1709 worked perfectly. Finding this ISO was a bit difficult, but it's out there.

I DDU'd my GPUs, and then attempted to restart. I'm getting Error 55 on an Asus Z97-Pro (no memory detected)

I tried different sticks of ram, 1 by 1 in the appropriate slot...nothing. A new PSU...nothing. used the MEMOK! button which didn't do jack. I can't even boot into bios. Re-seated the CPU...nothing. The seller told me the mobo had 2 bent pins but it was working "fine" after I travelled 30 minutes, SO i just bought it. To his credit, it was working just fine. Is it possible that these bent pins suddenly screwed everything up after being fine for 3 weeks?

I have had claymore 11.8 with adrenaline 18.5 driver working GREAT. Then, windows accidentally updated. Now i'm getting the same thing where it stops at

ETH: 1 pool is specified
Main Ethereum pool is us1.ethermine.org:4444

and then just sits there until it says miner can't initialize. I've reinstalled  drivers using DDU. turned off windows dfeneder (claymore isn't being shut down, so I don't think that's the problem). In Gpu Z, open CL is indeed not checked, but I thought these graphics cards RX 400 and 500 serious (currently testing on ONLY a single 570 since this is blowing up my brain) used Open GL. I've resintalled windows twice, basically did everything that I've always ever done and had working fine. Now, nothing. Claymore just sits there. What's weird, is when I run the start.bat file as administrator, then I get the "cannot find EthDcrMiner.64" but it starts up and doesn't close when I start it up non-admin so I really don't think that's the problem. Can ANYONE help? this has been like 2 solid days of troubleshooting.

What version of windows do you have now? It sounds like the 1803 problems. Roll back to the previous windows version
[/quote]

I had 1795 or something like that. 1803 indeed screwed me. New windows installs/rollbacks...nothing has helped. I read that registry stuff doesn’t get sorrted out on a windows reset...so I made a totally new USB install and hopefully i get a truly clean version of Windows. Is there a way to force your computer to go back to a build? I’m assuming this new install will be 1803. Windows has worked great for my rig, but I needed an update for a file and the ass updated EVERYTHING. Kaboom, no more mining.

I'm running 5 x rx570. I'm getting this issue with running Claymore all of a sudden with this rig. Effectively it seems to initialize well and then the cmd prompt just shuts down automatically. All I see in the logs  are the following :
Code:
22:39:05:467 2134 Pool eth-asia1.nanopool.org removed from the list
22:39:05:467 2134 ETH: 1 pool is specified
22:39:05:482 2134 Main Ethereum pool is asia1.ethermine.org:4444
<...>

1. Try different port/pool for example asia1.ethermine.org:5555
2. Try to increase your virtual memory to at least 4GB/GPU and use -eres 0

If fail then continue to troubleshoot with varying GPU, driver, etc...

Do you have any other suggestions, I'm getting the same issue with all gpu or one gpu. This is the same pool I use for my NVIDIA cards that works.

go to nanopool eth page under help, re config bat file and epools

I think I know the problem, when I run gpu-z i see that my compute is only on directcompute 5.0 anyone know how to get the opencl on it working? I downloaded the crimson blockhain driver so I'm shocked that it didn't do that....
