It could be market manipulation. Who knows? I've heard  plenty of buzz around the net about it. But you know what? I don't want to know if it's true or not. I just don't want to get my head around things like that. I'm sticking to my theory that the market will evolve and eventually stabilize.

Re: Does it even matter if governments and banks accept cryptocurrency?
by

It's going to turn governance on its head when cryptocurrency is established as the only type of currency there is. One of the major powers of being in govenment has been the control of money. With this out of the governments' hands, what is the use of them? It's worth thinking about.

Use a cryptocurrency which uses an anonymous ledger. That's the answer. Pure and simple. And take good care of your wallet too.

Re: What comes after Bitcoin?

The world of the future is an unknown place. We can only guess. Should our planet survive, there probably will be great times ahead. VR is making so many things possible. Scientific research has gone further than ever. Yes, cryptocurrency is a part of that. Whatever cryptocurrency will come out on top of the many crypto coins released. Bitcoin has the privilege of being first but it will not have infinite production. So the question, regarding cryptocurrency, as to what comes next is interesting. Cryptocurrency, like everything else is evolving. So we must see where the future leads. New crypto coins which can transfer around the globe like lightening have the best chance. User friendly interfaces which are accessible to people who don't have an aptitude for technology have a better chance of acceptance. Cryptocurrency should not be the area of the technically advanced. The financial revolution must take everyone along.

I know it's very high tech, but cryptocurrency is the peoples movement to end the tyranny of banks. It's all about the freedom of the people. It's about a better future for everyone. Once this awareness spreads, everyone will choose cryptocurrency.

Apparently, once the crowdfunding period is done, we'll be able to view something called Virie Blockexplorer, which will help us to view the Virie Blockchain system. I'm curious to see how the crowdfunding goes. https://virternity.com/virie

Good advice. Thanks for that. I think we have to read up as much as possible, study as much as possible and only invest when we feel totally ready. Then accept whatever the outcome. It's great to find someone who can guide you but it's better to use your own head. That's what I think anyway. And I love what you said about not comparing. That's very important.

I've been reading up about it too. It seems that the whole future technology thing is based on decentralization. And cryptocurrency, while it has arrived, is still going through the evolution process. It seems that Virie is going to carry on at some point, where Bitcoin leaves off. Does that make sense? Here's an article I read: https://www.annerainwater.net/blog/virie-the-currency-of-the-future

Re: 2020 are the new hope for us?

I believe we're on the brink of a new age of decentralization. Blockchain and cryptocurrency are a huge part of it. But there's much more to it than that. The up and down of Bitcoin shouldn't signal the end.

Re: Are we entering an age of truth?
by
usticiann
on 23/11/2018, 15:17:06 UTC
Because of the new technologies, we are entering an age where it will be impossible to conceal wrongdoing. The recent incident of journalist Jamal Khashoggi being killed and 'disappeared' by the Saudis is an example. They thought they could remove him from the world and no-one would ever find out what really happened. But the incident was recorded by a technology which cannot be divulged. I don't think any government will ever attempt to pull a stunt like that again.

I believe in cryptocurrency. I also believe in Bitcoin. In fact, as many say, it's the standard against which other cryptocurrency coins are measured. And of course, it's the original cryptocurrency. Long live Bitcoin.

Re: What is your biggest regrets in cryptocurrency?

I don't have regrets. But if there are any, I wish I'd discovered Bitcoin when it was newer and more accessibly priced for investment. But I'm probably reinventing the wheel and saying what others are saying. But it's my truth.

Ha! Like most boring, sensible people, I would love to see Bitcoin growing slow and steady rather than in spikes. It appeals to my conservative nature.  Grin But then again, I make a lot of decisions at the last minute. I would call it inspiration. Others might call it impulse.

Can blockchain replace the bank? Of course it will. There is nothing surer. Blockchain and cryptocurrency will certainly replace the banking system as we know it. I am entirely convinced of that.

Re: Is crypto a danger or an opportunity?
by

At the moment we're in the transitory phase, so it's hard to know how things will go. But I should imagine that it's pretty much on the radar that cryptocurrency is the future. From bartering, to fiat currency to plastic money, mode of payments have been going through transition. And there will be more transitions. Who knows what the future holds? But we should go with these changes, I feel.

Re: What should I choose
by

Cryptocurrency is a real business. If you have the support and the expertise to work for yourself, I think you should do that. You will create work for yourself and even for others. The idea of being an investor and waiting to collect your winnings is not an idea with which I'd be comfortable. Investing is something you do when you have a bit of surplus money. Common wisdom tells us we must only invest money which we feel we can afford to lose without altering our lifestyle. So there's my bit of advice, FWIW. And I do wish you well.
