Not that I care too much about CMC, but looking at top20 (sadly), we got a lot of contenders, and we might see ourselves in the bottom end by EOW.
With all this craze with coins that gives 500% roi in a couple of weeks, we might get a little pushed over. We need to keep up the pace.

I think during these times, the best strategy is to hold.
If it were to look back at history, time tells it will be a dump.
However, xmr was way undervalued, so this could be a special case of pure skyrocketing and traders and shorters will get awesomely rekt.

Re: Why do most people consider most ICOs or Altcoins as scams
by
vaccin

Because they are only fancy words. Ideas.
Nothing has yet been achieved. People are buying like crazy thinking one of the tens or hundreds will hit the jackpot. Or that they will be faster at dumping than the next one, when the whales start dumping.
They are yet to deliver, but it's not that bad to invest a couple of eth, just in case.

Exchange Withdrawals
by
vaccin

Hey guys,

As we all know it's been quite hectic a period with the influx of new blood in the crypto scene, me included, so I'd like to know a few things.
Let's say you apply and get verified on an exchange such as bittrex after a few weeks. They have your id on file.
Then you deposit some btc or an alt there from your wallet, you do your day trades for a few months, you maybe triple your initial investment in their wallets, and then you want to withdraw them to a personal wallet.

As a EU citizen, do they report to the authorities to tax you? Or how does it work? Do you have to report it yourself? What would be the withdraw limit for that not to happen.
Is it a bad thing to get verified?

Re: Dear Bitcointalk Community, please change your perspective about Bitcoin!

It's still too early to discuss and believe that btc will replace the us dollar bill.
As it stands, after all these years, it's impossible to buy a coffee with btc, due to confirmation times.
Not to mention than the average Joe never heard of btc.
Also privacy cannot be accomplished with btc. This is an early misconception and uneducated people believes that.
There are a lot to be done to make this coin perfect, we might enjoy the ride till it goes mainstream.

Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use

Everybody will go through this phase. Our parents did, we did, and for sure our kids will.
It depends on individuals if they want to try it or not.
If it stays as the title suggests, recreational, I see no harm in it.

The problem is we are different individuals, and some of us are more prone to addiction than others.

I'm relatively new but same as you, I exclusively hold and slowly mine xmr since last year, but the more I read the more I feel the need to diversify a bit.
I'm thinking 25% out from the cold and getting some btc, a little eth (just in case the "scam" continues) and some play money into medium cap alts left on an exchange for day trading and getting the hang of it.
It's been itching for a week now...

It's not about weak hands, or that my belief has diminished, but it itches.

[...] Bitttrex was good something happen and they just lose trust of users [...]

Care to elaborate on that one? I'm planning to give it a go to day trading, and my best bet is Bittrex since they have a broader range of alts also.

I don't know what the best time to invest in bitcoin is, but I know for sure it's not the time now, in an ATH.
Remember, buy low, sell high, never buy in an ATH.  Cool

You are not rich until you cash out. Until then you're rich on paper.
Many forget that. And I bet any bitcoin millionaire ain't gonna cash in fiat ever. Spreading it into alts or investing in something else rather than piling up cash.

There will come a time when rich people will value privacy the most and then, only then, the true value of monero will show.
Buy some XMR, put it on a paper wallet and come back after 2 years.

Re: Is it too late to join 2017 rally ?
by

I believe it's not too late. Moreover I think this is just the begininning. Yes, some already made tens of thousands or millions but this shouldn't stop you to invest.
Rule of thumb, there will always be richer people than you, accept it.
I don't think there will be a correction soon. I don't believe in one of the most rising coin right now, but this is becoming too big to ignore.
I will not give you any advice though without being biased, so do your reseach and start small.
A couple of tokens may not give you awesome ROI now, but think ahead, what would 100$ invested in a couple of tokens mean in 2 year time maybe?

Dive in my friend and spend what you can afford. Sky is the limit!  Grin

Re: Nobody Can Have Benefit From a Big Pump
by
vaccin
on 06/06/2017, 07:13:26 UTC
True believers, hodlers, will not sell even in times like these, when 95% of alts are pure pumps.
I do believe that the crypto market is overvalued at the moment. Or maybe I'm wrong and this is only the beginning phase of an incoming dot com.
I'm a hodler, with 99% of my portofolio in a single coin in which I believe. I know this is bad, but I'll stick with it till the end.
But yea, to the op, day traders, speculators will benefit from this pump.

This feels so good.

It feels so good to see some green on us also, with all these shitcoins pumping like there's no tomorrow.

It the hack proves to be real, polo would have to rebuy the lost xmr, right? That would up the price quite a bit I suppose.  Undecided

So to get in with bitcoinsuisse you have to pay a fee of around 100 euros + 1-2%. That's a bit nutzy.
