Re: PhoenixMiner 5.5c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)

hello guys,

yesterday I went with the latest nVidia drivers, updated to 5.5c and changed the 6pin to SATA cables on my riser boards directly to power them by the 6pin cables from the PSU.
Before, when I was running with the SATA adapters and not the latest drivers, 5.4c miner I had a stable rig, runnin each RTX 3080 at 94.5mhs with 70PW and +700Mhs.

Now , one of the cards is hashing lower than expected - with -0.5mh, when the GPU is not connected via HDMI cable and with -1.5mhs when its streaming.
If I start playing and tweaking , a 2nd card starts losing MHs and starts crashing...

I looked that the miner and it seems that some of the cards are getting 8-10 degrees hotter than the others, and one card is running always @ 100% fan speed... If i try to lower the fan speed in MSI, the card throttles within minutes.

And all this was stable AF 2 days ago, while i was running the cards with the SATA Connectors...
May the problem be caused by the drivers or does it look like a hardware problem?

Thanks for your help!
Thermal pads degrading probably and you need to replace them with better...

A little feedback:

-dagrestart <n> Restart the miner when allocating buffer for a new DAG epoch. The
possible values are: 0 - never, 1 - always, 2 - auto (the miner decides depending on the driver version).
This is relevant for 4 GB AMD cards, which may have problems with new DAG epochs after epoch 350.

This is good, but what we need is a -dagRunScript. Which of course, runs a script when a new DAG begins to build. Right now the 30 series works OK with the HiveOS "OC Delay" but we need to restart the miner when the new DAG hits to let HiveOS use it's OC Delay feature.

3060 Ti here - works well, unless...

- I set max overclock at start (only incorrect shares are generated - I need to start lower and increase)
- Epoch changes (same result as above)

Please fix.

happens to me as well (RTX3070), I thought it was a bug on the driver or the bios, I was updating/flashing for 2 hours before figured what you just said lol

Interesting.. thanks for reporting this.. did you try any other miner see if the same issue persists?
so it is not a driver issue, it is a general rtx 3000 series issue

If I start on +1200 mem clock I can survive  but I still get bunch of invalid shares ,  if i start under +1000mem clock and go up I get no invalid shares even up to 1500+for now I start them at +900 and go up to +1200 since you never know when the Epoch change happens and the whole thing goes down if you have it set above +1250 or so memory clock

I have an MSI and a Zotac  3060 ti ,   Zotac runs hotter and faster , but more prone to invalid shares, same story as above applies to both

I get 59-60 MH on the 900+ mem
and can get close to 64 MH if I go up to +1500 and give it some  power like 66% to 68%
Happens when dual-mining with ZIL too.
Have you tried another miner?

same here with 2 3060ti to 2 different rigs with exactly this behavior

has anyone try to overclock it above 425 Mhz? i run it on stock fan with temps 53/49 and c the fan at full speed about 3960 rpm and no x on acic chips and about 1375 Hf/s when i try to go above 425 still i have no hardware errors but my hash rate drops at 1200 Gh/s or lower? any explanation for that?? and my s5 looks rock solid having it run for more than 4 days at 425Mhz
P.S. i have allready ordered 2 delta fans  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271775072487?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
