I guess I don't do enough research about this card, I thought it's newer like the 3060s and 3070s, no wonder he wasn't responding to my message when I asked the seller how old the cards are, I could have used google search myself but I thought it's no big deal but thanks, is replacing CMP cards to A5000 series graphic cards or I should just go with 3060s instead.

As far as I know, these cards use the GA102 chip, it's the same as used in 3080 and 3090
Here you can see the list of all gpus using this chip (CMP 90hx included): https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/nvidia-ga102.g930

It's not too old, but it's the generation of 3xxx, and it's not an easy gpu to resell like any other standard GPU.

If the price is very good and the electricity is cheap, maybe it's worth it, but you have to do the math with your friend.
In general, I think there are video cards that can be better these days. Like the Nvidia 4070 that will be released in a few days.

Good to know, thanks

Re: Future of GPU mining, what's your plan?

Like every time yes, but keep in mind bullmarket and cheap gpus - not really. Why waiting for the BTC halving? If you want to mine for long time, buy now.

To OP,Exactly this advice.

If you want to be prepared follow this advice and buy cheap GPU-s now,now we are still in a crypto winter market and despite some sort of recovery the price of GPU-s are still low compared to the bull run which they were extremely high.Another limiting factor is the energy price but most cards are efficient and can make you a decent daily amount of crypto for a normal rig with 6 GPU-s and you will be with not a lot of loss (which people fighting for the long run should absorb as there is no other way around this) and hope for the best in the next bull run, that is the best strategy to prepare, you are not late even if you start now.

Didnt know that lol

Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose"

Invest with the amount of money that you can afford to lose only means that what you want to invest on is highly volatile. That helps you to know how risky it is in what you want to invest on.

If you invest big and you make huge amount of money, that is your luck. Or you invest hugely in it and you lose, that is it. But you know already that you are dealing with a risky asset.

You should know how risky what you want to invest in is, research about the asset to know if that statement is entirely true or not, some investment are not that risky, while some are very risky.

Like bitcoin, when the price decreased so significantly, you know you have more precentage in success rate, unlike when the price is high.

About altcoins, you know how gambling they are.

Yeah, it always depends

Re: Is Bitcoin truly free of Pump and Dump Schemes?
by

I had a firm belief in BTC that it could not be used in the Pumps and Dumps Scheme because of its scarcity (limited supply, high demand) and decentralization. I posted a topic about Don’t Fall Prey to these Market Sentiments and Save your Bitcoin in which i covered 4 major market sentiments. One of them was the Pumps and Dumps Scheme, but "this market sentiment has no impact on BTC price". That's what i learned in that topic by reading members' replies.

I think you are mixing different things together.

Pump and dump is a market manipulation practice.  Even is highly regulated markets, such as the stock market,  there are pump and dump schemes.

Bitcoin scarcity is totally unrelated to market manipulation. Scarcity makes it more valuable,  but what would make it resilient to manipulation would be regulations,  what bitcoin lacks.

Who can forget Elon Musk playing around, saying he was going to use bitcoin as a payment method in tesla,  then he suddenly changed his mind? This is market manipulation

Yo, you are always answering my questions, thanks bro

Re: Buying cheap is best formula

OP, it's great that you're interested in investing in bitcoin. However, I would caution against assuming that past performance will necessarily predict future results. While there may be trends in the market, there are always unforeseen factors that can impact the value of cryptocurrencies. It's important to consider the risks and benefits of investing in any asset.

If you're comfortable with the potential risks and feel that bitcoin aligns with your investment strategy, then go for it! But just remember, investing in bitcoin can be a rollercoaster ride.  Smiley

Wow, that's some good info right there
