I will tomorrow handle some miners and add as much as i can ( already few of those are prepared)

Please add ravenminer for AMD.

Important reminder :

Claymore Cryptonite, xmr-stak and ccminer need to be ready with cryptonightV7 support for Monero fork coming soon.

actually;  just extremely recently, an updated version with source exists for monero7;  Now the question goes;  which pools will be following the fork as well?

That would be tricky - which pools would be ready etc - thats why I will head to NH because a lot of crazies out there with too much BTC will pile on rentals to mine the first 24 hours with ridiculous rates... I will not complain though, as long as we get those premium BTC payouts.
Do you think SMos will be ready ?

I expect a big drop in overall monero hashpower just after the fork. Should we try to get a few extra coins from it?
I'll be switching over to XMR the very minute the fork happens - I expect a massive hashrate drop

Let's hope SMos will update fast !
My Vegas are running Windows - don't think Vegas are supported under SMOS yet..

Yes for vegas

But RXs could probably come to play too if big drop in hashrate

On another topic....

While mining RVN, I tried my first experience on a decentralized exchange ... never knew that such a crypto exchange exist -- similar interface to Bittrex, Binance, Poloniex... but this decentralized exchange operates fully on its own "blockchain" or at least that how I imagined how a decentralized exchange works. Anyways, check it out at https://crypto-bridge.org/ --- you need to download the DEX client ~ "cryptobridge decentralized exchange beta 0.10.5"

Now I know why Binance announced that they are planning something similar and will be launching their own blockchain.

If this is the future of digital crypto exchanges.... I am very impressed.

Check it out.

Give us a review of your experience ! would be very interesting

Anyone having trouble with claymore v11.4 and v11.3 ?

No way to get it work, I have to stay at v11, which work well but doesn't have latest updates.
With v11.4, it crash before dag creation
Quote
"Create GPU buffer for GPU0
/root/xminer.sh: line 68:  3307 Killed                  $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS
Miner ended/crashed. Restarting miner in 10 seconds --------------"

Anyone else ?
Could it be linked to the SMos version used ? (with dagfix for example)

Re: RX 560 hashrates
by

I switched from sgminer-gm 5.5.5 to xmr-stak 2.2.0 and tweaked amd.txt as suggested by @Vlizzjeffrey and I'm getting 1370 H/s out of (3) 2GB XFX RX 560 cards. That's exactly the same as with sgminer, but it seems a lot more stable. The specific problem I was having with sgminer is it would lock the rig up so bad it needed to be hard reset, usually, but not always, when I used the KVM switch to select it after it had been running awhile. Note that I am using the integrated GPU in the Celeron CPU for video, and not one of the mining cards, so this behavior was quite perplexing.
Do not use iGPU with AMD! Bad idead, it blocks OC settings, might be fixed with newer drivers, but it was big problem for most cards for mining. Only with Nvidia cards.
Properly configured SGminer has a lot higher hashrate than XMR-STAK 2.2 even older XMR-STAK-AMD has higher hashrate than 2.2. I've compiled latest sources from XMR-STAK it's in my guide for download, it has slightly higher hashrate but still older AMD version is better, also it has lowered dev fee to 1%.

Guys, which version is the old Stak with good results please ?
For the moment I can't equal sgminer results (500+h/s with 2 threads) when I try stak with two threads too. I tried 2.2 , 2.0 and 1.1.0.
I get approximatively the same hashrate with all the stak versions I tried (460h/s), but still less than sg miner.

I guess I missed the righ stak version. Anyone reaching good number with Stak could tell me which version he use ?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks Phil,
With summer heat coming and uncertainity about future mining, I think I will get rid of some GPUs as some people with better facilities than me seems still able to expand, considering current unavailabilities!
In Europe, you cannot find a brand new RX570 under $400 currently, and you have to be lucky. And used ones are at the same price. You US guys can actually get better deals with Ebay than us!

With all that bad news, I'm thinking about to sell my few Rx470s 4gb.

Philip, what price would you suggest me ?

I can completely turn off any 1 of the 3 PSU's while the rig is mining and it will not skip a beat and continue mining shifting the load to the other psu's

So, only one power cable for the psu in the middle ? or all? for what aim in the end ?

I tried 1 rx460 2gb sapphire, with samsung memory.
The auto tune in polaris bios editor applied Ubermix straps.
Managed to reach 500+ h/s at cryptonight with windows 10.
But when I try with SMos, I only get 420h/s.

Any idea why ? or any suggest to reach 500 again in SMos ?

@Romi and @Tadeus
It's a Sapphire rx470 reference, with blower. So, no dual bios, and no way to see inside without removing the blower Sad

After looking at mine, they DO have dual BIOS - though the switch is not real obvious and tiny.

I wish it would be the same for me, but I triple checked and found nothing.
Maybe different batch from yours ?
Would you be kind enough to take a picture ?

Even better: Click for some google search results

Unfortunately not better at all.
I do know how looks like a bios switch, and I cant find any on the sapphire rx470 reference.
But with the precise picture (wich is not in Jared link), we could be sure there are two different kind of rx reference. With and without switch.

Anyone has an idea about how to be sure of the memory brand from a AMD RX card ?
I may have a wrong bios flashed in mine, and I don't know how to check which kind of memory the card really is.
Does gpu-z show the real memory brand ? or does it show the memory of the flashed bios ??
If it has a dual vbios (assuming that hasn't been flashed as well). Flip the switch, boot up and see what memory it has. If no dual vbios, you may have to pull the heatsink to be 100% sure.

Correct - GPU-Z pulls the memory brand info from the BIOS, so if you flashed the wrong BIOS and it isn't a dual-BIOS version then the easiest solution by far is to reflash with the original BIOS... you did download the original from the card before flashing it, right? If not:  Cry

Thanks for confirming GPU-z won't help! I'll have to try something else to be sure.

Even if he didn't save the original bios, he can probably find it over on techpowerup.
Thanks guys.
Yes you can easily find the original bios, but you have to know the memory brand for that ..
In my case, I'm not sure my original bios is the right one. As the gpu doesn't work properly, I think a mistake might have been made when saving and/or flashing.
That's why I asked about a solution to be sure about memory brand so I can confirm bios has not been confused with another one with different memory.

Question to the SMos users: how do you set back up pools ?

I run to nicehash.  They have 99% up time.

I do have other pools set but I would need to set manually.

I do have a warning from nicehash if they go down.  They had 10-15 minutes down time since they re opened.

I don't sweat 15 minutes a month.

Coins dropped to 7600 usd today on coinbase. I almost decided to buy 1.

Thx, seems like a good plan.
But always good to have a back up!

Hi,

is it still possible to install the DAG fix ? the red button has disappeared in my SMos dashboard.

I don't see anything in the changelog about the fix.
