Thank You Smiley

Yes, it won't be ready for a bit but things are coming along.

I didn't know which algo to vote for as yet so doing a bit of research around. X11 seems popular now. POS is something i don't understand perfectly so just reading up on it now.

Nice to see beecoin back on track. Thanks soopy this is much appreciated.

I have a very good feeling about beecoin. I have spoken to a few people about it and i know 2 other people that are doing a few things for beecoin that will be ready shortly.

Also exchanges are going to be required for after the algo switch. So if everyone can keep voting on mintpal and others. I too am doing this and progressing with the new website.

i have mined another 20 million bees for  promotional usage.

I am waiting on cryptorush myself. They have spoilt my evening. I will get my coins away from the exchange, when this issue is sorted.

Now it is telling me that i'm logged out each and every time that i click on a link. I will have to leave crypto rush for this evening. I hope that i'm able to get my coins tomorrow.

I'm hoping those coins are not going to be swallowed by that exchange for good. I also had another 4 million bee coins on there

Beecoin community...

I have been having extensive talks with Soopy about the best things we can do for beecoin now and in the future.

As you know many coins are moving to x11 or other asic resistant algos. This is something for us to consider, but this involves a lot of coding work. However beecoin would be one of the first to have the x11 algo and POS.

Soopy seems to be a very know a lot and have the skills to take beecoin to the level we need to move forward.

We all need to get involved though.  I am just one person i can not make decisions for all of the miners that have mined and are still mining and buying beecoins.  We need to decide on some things.

1. Do we stick with scrypt pow and just add POS as we need it to prevent hash dropping and therefore security of the chain dropping as rewards die off.?

2. Do we go radical and change to x11 algo with POS? so we burn less electricity (50% less) and therefore become more profitable and more resistant to scrypt asics.

3. Do you have alternative suggestions?

4. Do we go ahead with the block taxes  1% = dev.  2% funding for future things like games, exchanges,  and 2% for saving the bee populations

KEEP IN MIND NEARLY 1/3 OF BEES HAVE BEEN MINED SO THESE % ARE NOT OF THE TOTAL THEY ARE OF THE 2/3RDS LEFT OF THE BEECOINS ... so 1% is like really going to be 0.5% by the time we implement these changes.

Now Soopy as you know earns his wages developing these coins. He needs payment to work hours and hours on a coin. Yes we have offered him really 1% (really 0.5% of minting because nearly half have been mined now) beecoins in block tax. However right now we need to give him a few donations to get him started because beecoin right now is very low in price. We can't expect people with skills to work for free.

Let's donate to soopy for his time and effort to crack on with the coding work for beecoin. Everyone donating (first 30 people) at least 0.5ltc or more i will send 1 million beecoin as thanks and i will be donating of course too. Please just post or pm me your transaction id and i will list you on the "Thanks list" on the new thread so we can see who is actually helping out around here.. Once we get the coin rolling things will start going a lot more quickly.

If you are serious about pushing beecoin further ahead then please show your support. Beecoin was a very fair coin to start with and it is sad the last dev left. However it will be great to have a new developer on board to help take beecoin further.

I am also going to offer 5 million beecoins to the first person to reply to this thread and say they will PM every person on this thread and invite them to come back and discuss how we go forward from here with beecoin. I will be randomly PM a few people to make sure you have really done it propertly. I will post the message to send them in a moment.

But the first person to post here and say they will PM everyone and get them back here to have their say on beecoins future will get 5M after they have done it.

to donate to bee coins immediate development please send to soopys addresses they are

soopy btc = 1MKtdnJgbdLVPha7B5PPXDagdpK4tvDDSx

soopy ltc =  LLuHpjoq8eSGm4mkKR2mnd4hQWMKNEyVvD

Both you and soopy have a good head on your shoulders, so I put trust and faith that you both can come up with a great idea/way that will move Beecoin forward.

The X11 & POS sounds interesting and promising, whould help to ensure the blockchain and maintain early adopters in Beecoin. I'm all for having the 1%/2%/2% block tax implemented to help Beecoin move forward.

I would love to donate to soopy but unfortunately have absolutely nothing in cryptocurrency right now as things are tight for me; but will keep my eye on Beecoin and hope to get back in the game before it takes off.

Hey, thanks for your kinds words and feedback, no worries and even those without much ltc or bee to donate can still support the bee community by getting involved and posting feedback and ideas etc just like you have done. thanks.

To others in the community come on guys if you can afford to donate a bit to soopy even just 0.5LTC - send the tx and i will send you 1 million beecoins and list you on the donations list.

Let's all get involved here.  If you are serious about pushing beecoin further we need to display willing to all pitch in and help.

If you can't afford to donate then please do something else active for the beecoin, tell some people or post some ideas for this coin going forward from here.

My small LTC donation will be with you shortly. I am just awaiting cryptorush. I have 3 ltc on there but it says "timed out" when i try to withdraw. Sorry about the delay.

@cryptohunter

i will donate as soon as i get home from work in about 4 hours time.

Also i have got my friend working away on building a new beecoin website. I hope you guys will like it.

I am still mining beecoin. I've been reading as much as i can on this board trying to learn a little more. Would it not be best just for this time to stay with pow as it is working well, and just produce an updated source code from which you can build the required wallets and block explorer. Stick with scrypt and introduce pos as the block reward reduces?  Could it be risky to exchange to x11 with pos? this has not be done so far? Could we lose the coins we have mined if something goes wrong?

I now have 22 million beecoins and i would hate to see them get swatted Smiley

anyone heard the latest from soopy? i know beecoin is functioning fine right now and it is not an emergency to change the code but really the 2% donation the bee cause would be nice to have before the new website is completed, and the largest blocks will be done with soon.

Also anyone have any good ideas what else we could have on the main website except the usual things like links to the wallet etc?
What new features could we put on the  main beecoin website to really help new people to crypto get involved?

Anyone else have some ideas?

Started working on BEEcoin , I should have the updated source ready in a few hours time. Smiley

Zzzzzz Bee.... ! Smiley

excellent work, thanks Smiley

Now that we have a new dev on board.... what should we do next?  with the coin design?  should be start a new thread where soopy can control the OP because right now where will we even post the new source code?

Let's also try and think about the pow/pos  things we were talking about

Soopy what is your opinion on the coin design...

I guess people are most concerned about the potential for 51% attack as block reward becomes very low in the future and motivation for mining is not so great.

Also will it be difficult to implement the block tax idea for the dev fund and for the save the bee's fund?

Yes i think a new thread will be needed, the information is all broken on this one, the main site is dead link.  Really we should create an entire new thread.

Can we make the coin like black coin? where after mining finishes it goes to pos style?

or like cryptohunter says just perhaps not let the blocks go down to just 1000 so people stop mining?

I am also in favour of the developers 2% and bee 2%

we need coins to fund projects and the developer and also i really like this idea of doing something for saving the bee population.

I hope more people from this thread will get involved and have their say in things too. I think some people have assumed the dev has gone and will not check back on the thread for a while.

We could really do with getting some idea and getting working on them. Beecoin could be much larger than people think.

I hate to say it, but this coin is on it's deathbed.

As I'm writing this the Net Hashrate is 0.06 GH/s. That is incredibly bad; there is no way in hell we can secure the blockchain with such an incredibly weak Net Hashrate. A single solitary user with a GPU farm can effectively 51% attack this coin and own it at any given time unless we start getting more miners onboard pronto.

I had hope that Beecoin would at the very least become a stable coin but it's not looking good.

It is now looking VERY GOOD.  It has been stable at the 100-80MH rate for a while now. Check again, it may drop to 60MH now and then but mostly when i check.... and i check a lot it is running just over 100MH.

Yes we need to aim to have beecoin running at 1GH within the next week or two. However, building up from here steadily is the target.

A new dev is looking into adopting BEECOIN. Smiley

Also i have been talking to some others who are going to get a new beecoin website done, and bring some new services to this coin.

This coin is going to be doing very well in another few weeks time. I would recommend buying beecoin now. It will soon be a LOT more expensive once we get back on track here.

Also as soon as the new dev comes on board i will be doing a few promotions for this coin Smiley

I never see the network going much under 100MH... that is not too bad considering the amount of new coins out there.

BEE positive Smiley

Hello Mate,

Got your pm , I'm working on a plan to get this coin back on its feet , will send you a PM shortly.

Cheers!
Soopy
This is really good news. A new active developer on this team is what we need.

I have bought about 40 million bee so far. This coin is very cheap and easy to mine. If we have a new active developer and also we will contribute to the saving the bees fund i will mine or buy nothing else.
I have been solo mining this coin for 2 days and i have some blogs getting a few 1000 visitors per day. As soon as i know we have a stable dev and secure coin future i will be posting this on all of those blogs too.

So far i have advised 3 other people at my office to invest in btc and ltc. I think it is time soon to get some people into beecoin. If only $50 each worth of beecoins.

My friend is a web designer so i can get them started on a new beecoin website on monday.

I have archived the old block chain etc and here is the last block from debug.log:

03/13/14 21:23:56 received block 00000000693c85858ae0
03/13/14 21:23:56 SetBestChain: new best=00000000693c85858ae0  height=322480  tr
ust=34413680427  date=03/13/14 21:23:44
03/13/14 21:23:56 ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED

The old client was 1.0.2.

What I did was to delete the old block chain and download again...
The wallet seems to have the same amount now, but doesn't seem to initiate any PoS

So are you saying we might have an incompatible fork now?

EDIT: I have successfully updated some 1.0.3 wallets to 1.0.4, so it might be some issue with 1.0.2 to 1.0.4? Neither wallet does PoS now, even though they have coins since December 2013 in there.

Code:
Hash: 00000000693c85858ae0e701b0810bd0d13828a6a8b93052baf6cc4f5a8cbe3b

Yes this looks correct, PoS is not turned on just yet, but soon, so keep your coins ready.

1.03 was just fixing connectivity and newer CPs . I'll send a PM

Hey Everybody,

Also with all the great ideas being posted so far what do you think of having a facebook or twitter tipping bot (If possible, like the reddit ones)

I think it would be good once we find some groups to actively support, I think this would be the best http://sos-bees.org/

As Greenpeace is Global if we could provide them with funding I that actually helped change the world (NO BEES NO FOOD)

Spend your Bees here: www.gems4coins.com  (You mine Bee, and trade for real gemstones that have been mined, cut, and polished!)

Yes that would be a good idea....

Ok guys come on get talking about the possibility of bringing in a new dev. I'm not sure what happened to the old dev but we now need to consider bringing in a new leader if we want to see beecoin go further.

So are we all in favour of advertising for a new developer to come and take over beecoin.

2% dev pot funding and 2% for the bee preservation sites either greenpeace one or the other one??

If we are in favour we will start seeking a new developer asap?

Also we need to talk about coin design.... i see the introduction of POS seems to be favoured. This is quite complex and will need a skilled dev.

Do we leave block rewards the same and block scaling the same?

Do we leave it scrypt or perhaps move to a qrk code so everyone in the world who would like to mine for bee's can try on their home cpu

We need to discuss these things now so we know what we want the developer to do.

I find it quite rude, that the dev just abandons his coin and hardly communicates. Fine, the dev may be busy, but he only needs to write one sentence every 2 or 3 days on this forum, just to show that he is still around.

REGARDING POS, I FEEL THAT WE NEED TO ELIMINATE SOME BLOCK REWARDS, PREFERABLY AT THE THIRD BLOCK HALVING, SO THAT THIS COIN BECOMES 100% POS AT THIRD HALVING.

MY IDEA IS THAT THIS WILL FORCE MINERS TO COMPETE, FROM THIS VERY MOMENT, UP UNTIL THE THIRD HALVING, WILL MAKE THE COIN SCARCE, VALUABLE AND EXPENSIVE.

BLOCK REWARDS COULD LOOK LIKE THIS:

1-100,000: 0-200,000 BeeCoin Reward

100,001-200,000: 0-100,000 BeeCoin Reward

200,001-300,000: 0-50,000 BeeCoin Reward

300,000+: POS

I agree with you on some points, however.... i think POS only coins have some security issues. POW + POS seems more secure.

Really POS is a lot more complex than POW, when adt was looking for new developers to make them a new chain.... It demonstrated very few devs understand working with POS.

Yes many devs can clone an already existing POS coin, but if things go wrong..... then sadly there are very few developers that can assist.

I think going pure POS after a time will require us to have a 1st class developer on board.

I am going to approach a few developers about this. However to my knowledge.......very few on devs on here can fix a broken pos coin.

We need to find out a lot of details ...... i am asking questions and trying to find out.

I have been searching the board for suitable developers too. I will pm you some ideas.

This coin could really appeal to a lot of people especially with the automatic donation to the bee societies mentioned.

This is a very important subject and one that i think most would come on board with once they are aware of the potential seriousness of the problem.

Going for a cpu based coin sounds like a very big change, is that actually possible now we have started with scrypt?

I am in favour of the POS getting to the pow we have now and of the developement 2%

I think we should start moving on this as soon as possible because if the current beecoin developer does not return all the highest value blocks will have been mined already.

I like solo mining this it is real fun but we need encourage others to come on board soon.

I would vote to donate 2 % to saving the bee foundation .. Where is the poll for this, i just voted for pos to be added also.
