Great full page article about BTC in todays Sunday Times Business Section (UK). Lots of interesting stuff with the general theme being that BTC is stage one of an evolutionary process.

Re: Mobile money slowly turning East Africa into cashless society
Just wondering if there are many people from New Zealand that use this board. Specifically if anyone has used bitnz.com - it looks pretty legit but nervous about sending larger amounts of coins through it.
Also wondering how keen fellow kiwis would be about a group buy of USB miners? I personally do not have the credibility/reputation to start one of these pools but am interested if others have.
I am one of the founders of Bitcoin Cyprus - a website made to support, promote, educate and expand the use of Bitcoin in Cyprus. Here is our website http://www.bitcoincy.co.nf/english.html - I would appreciate feedback on the website design.
Also, do we have anyone from Cyprus in the forums? I am trying to get in touch with as many Cypriot bitcoiners as I can.
Soon the whole world will look like Cyprus and wide adaption of Bitcoin will happen.
With the limitation of 7 transactions/second, 10 minute confirmation times, hour long deposits, and sometimes, transactions that take days, there is a big incentive to create ways to transact off the chain. With inputs.io and soon Open Transactions, it seems there has already been some movement in this direction.
It has been claimed that the block size limit will be increased sometime in the future. But there is already movement to get around the block chain altogether. If a new method of securing transactions can be instant, then the block chain becomes less attractive.
So if enough transactions go off chain, will there still be enough incentive to mine and secure the block chain? or will it lead to fewer transaction fees, fewer miners, less security......
And if the answer is no, that wouldn't happen, I'd be interested in hearing some thought on why, and what would happen if the answer were yes.
Not possible. As far as my understanding goes.

Bitcoin will be accepted worldwide in the coming years.
Hello everyone. I am new here and my name is Jennifer. I am from Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. I look forward to being on this site and interacting with all of you. I really hope BTC goes up to over $300 soon if not $1,000 for everyone who has bitcoins. Nice to meet you all.
I've seen my share of predictions on network hash. However, many of the predictions I have seen are based on gut feeling, guesses, and past performance. Which in a sense are all valid since we probably have a better shot in predicting the weather than the hash-rate for a digital currency.
One of the better predictions I have seen are based on a combination of mainstream news stories, company announcements, and chip fabrication/delivery. This has brought me to the prediction of a 750 TH/s by the end of the year.
One of the more concrete estimates based on facts was the identification of the blocks and the wallet address of some of these companies who are selling chips. Then using the BTC transfer amount, the cost per chip, and date of the order combined with the lead time and estimate fabrication time to come up with some network hash numbers that are actually based on something.
So with whatever means you have come up with your network hash prediction, I like to hear what some of you think about its future.
End of 2013 will see bitcoin prices soar.
