Re: EOSTime EOS Auctions
by

on 31/01/2019, 15:34:56 UTC
We just launched a site called EOSTime. We host provably fair auctions where you can bid small amounts of EOS to win a larger amount of EOS in a real-time auction. They work like penny auctions whereby any bid placed in the final seconds of an auction resets the timer to give others a chance to bid while eliminating network latency as an issue (i.e. everyone can get a  bid in if they want). When the timer runs out, the last bidder wins. I will be editing this topic and adding much more information, but I wanted to post now because we have an auction scheduled to end in about 5 hours and 15 minutes (about 14:10 UTC 1/31) where you can win more than 40 EOS. Check it out here: https://eostime.io

I like this idea but what about all the bidders who don't win? Do they get their invested EOS back so they can bid again or is it like a lottery system?
It works like this: Part of each person't bid goes into the prize pool (we vary the % based on how much EOS we put into the initial prize pool - we are still experimenting) and the remaining portion of the bid goes to a dividend account. Each time you bid, win, or for each second in the lead, you receive TIME tokens. The bulk of the dividend account is paid back to TIME token holders proportional to their ownership at the end of the day. Only 1 person wins each auction, but EOS flows back to all players via this TIME token mechanism.

Another dice-based game on EOS. EOS looks like a huge casino atm. What's your interest as founders and what exactly financial model do you use?

As regard @rudolfaxl question, I would like the developer to answer these questions for transparency sake.

I think dapps like these are what is driving the transaction on EOS, which is good for the whole space because we don't know the one among them that will scale and become adopted and rive more people to the space.
I agree that it is hard to see which dapps will scale. There have been some successes in the gambling space with dice sites driving quite a bit of volume, but only a few of the many have seen that success (see https://dappradar.com/rankings/protocol/eos for info on users and EOS volume of various dapps). We are trying to see if EOS will evolve into a good gaming currency. Our intent is to add all sorts of P2P games that people can enter with and win EOS. Very early in the process though - won't really know if it is a good concept until we get a lot further along.

It is true, a lot of EOS activity right now is in the gaming / gambling space. We are experimenting with more of a P2P skill-based approach. The financial model is to try to return most of the EOS back to the participating community and we are currently trying to figure out the specific parameters. We are providing the initial prize pools in the auctions and are tuning them to meet the community needs (and often losing EOS along the way). We have a telegram group that has provided us a lot of feedback during this dev and testing phase. You can check it out at https://t.me/eostime. Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem)

99.99% of dapps are useless and create no value. Stop drinking smart contracts = future of everything kool-aid.
99.99%!! That means usable Dapps are countable on fingers. Are there any Dapps which Lauda herself uses and applauds? But as far as Dapps go, I think the only reason people use them right now is for monetization. You know, like use a social media Dapp, earn some tokens and then sell them. I have yet to see something really innovative that can't be done on centralized apps.

oh, things can be done on centralized apps, but maybe, sometimes, is better when they are in decentralized apps, for example some financial and banking service.
centralized and decentralized dapp have huge difference and you are right about decentralization financial and banking service
for example when deposit or withdraw your crypto then decentralized Dapp exchanges are very fast because you control you transaction with you own determined gas and on centralized exchange withdraw fee fixed and you have to wait more for you withdrawal process to finish
i am big fan of decentralized exchange like forkdelta and idex currently i am using
eos transaction speed is fast and Dapp exchange on EOS will work faster then eth based Dapp exchange
Which is absolute bullshit. What you call a DEX is, objectively, at best a semi-decentralized exchange. The devs can do a lot of things that the owners of centralized exchanges can. Stop drinking kool-aid.

No worries, the EOS cartel will blacklist/undo the transaction(s). We're talking about a decentralized currency after all.  Roll Eyes

i know we are OT, but, if you want,  can you tell me more about the part in bold?
why you say that right now, dex like forkdelta are at best a semi-decentralized exchange?

Fully decentralized means no one is in control, autonomous. For instance on Idex some aspects are classified as decentralized, you can trade directly from your wallet and you are in control of the private keys, however, they decide which tokens to list, which ones to delist or when to suspend deposits withdrawals.

It is true that EOS is not truly decentralized to the same extent as Bitcoin or Ethereum, but the concept of voting in/out block producers based on your weighted ownership of EOS is intended to address this. Colluding block producers should get voted out (in theory) and honest ones voted in. Whether or not this works remains to be be seen. Keep in mind, Bitcoin and Ethereum are only truly decentralized to the extent that no colluding group of miners exceeds 50% of the network mining power.

❤️❤️❤️ [New] EOSTime - EOS Auction Site + EOS Faucet❤️❤️❤️
by
vineyard
on 10/12/2018, 17:31:54 UTC

I would like to invite you to try out our new EOS auction site.
It is the first site of its kind.

How Do Auctions Work?
Each auction has a countdown, during which, users can place bids. Auctions are made up of two time zones; the Green Zone and the Red Zone. During the Green Zone, users bids can cause the timer to drop closer to zero. However, once the timer drops into the Red Zone, say less than 20 seconds (it depends on the specific auction), new bids can bump the timer back up to 20 seconds.

Oh no!!!! I hear you cry, this sounds like a Fomo3d auction. Don't worry we made sure the auctions always end in a reasonable time period by adding a maximum number of bids.

Auctions designed to run faster have a lower max bid allowance and once the max bid countdown reaches 1, the next bid WILL win.

Earning TIME Tokens
Every time you bid you earn 5x the bid amount in TIME tokens. Every time you win an auction you win 10x the prize amount in TIME tokens as well as the EOS prize.

Stake Free Dividends Earning
We never require you to stake your TIME tokens in order to earn from them. Simply owning the tokens is enough. No need to claim. We make everything as simple as possible Smiley

EOS Faucet
The site also has a nice EOS faucet that pays out once per hour Smiley

Try it out: http://eostime.io/

Huh?
I played with your bonus on pro tournament and lost it. Thats ok.
But now I cannot withdraw my earnings from classic mode anymore.
Then I can delete the apps because no earnings are available anymore. No good bonus
Or must I now get over 0,02 and all over this score I get paid out?..
edit maybe my mistake used the bonus accidentally for the flapper game and lost there
And please have a look on bitcoinhopper classic mode.
There seems to be a bug in the counter since the last update. First place doesnt get 0.000005 bitcoins but 0.000000015 or sth like that. Second place is correct counted. In flapper all is correct countet.

Contact by email support[at]bitplay.today and they will look at your account and help. The bonus is 0.002 not 0.02 and you cannot withdraw it until you play 15 PRO Coin Hopper Tournaments, as the OP pretty clearly states.

Also, Classic tournament does pay out 0.000005 BTC. Can you provide me with the ID of a tournament that you believe did not pay out properly?

My username is RGBKey

Can you please explain for each permission why you require them? I don't understand why you need so many.
Can you let me know which permissions you would like information on?

Also, do you want the 0.002 BTC bonus described in the OP?

SparkedDev,

Your approach on the forum isn't the most common way of driving deal flow, but it is interesting.

You say that you invest 10BTC-25,000 BTC on investments.  Can you provide any evidence or information that backs up your ability to fund at this level? I have direct ties to the founders of http://bitplay.today and I know they are knocking it out of the park right now. I also know that they are out-of-the-box thinkers. However, I wouldn't even think of approaching them without more substance than what I found in this forum thread.

hi
lets ive got the giveaway promotion here, and i have 100k balance,  and i lose all my 200k (giveaway bitcoin) by tournament, and i left like 100k my own balance, cant i withdraw it that my own balance 100k.

If you lose your 200k bonus playing the Pro Coin Hopper Tournament, you will be able to withdraw your own 100K balance you had before. However, you must have lost it playing the Pro Coin Hopper Tournament and not any of the other tournaments.
