Re: I no longer support Multibit HD :(

I too switched from multibitHD to electrum. I was having to restore the wallet nearly every day because the balance was not confirming. I prefer the multibit interface but since the developers have not fixed the bug after it has been going on for so long, I have completely lost confidence in it. It's a shame.

Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering]
by

Can anybody tell me how I can go about disputing the decision?

I have looked at the published list of claims and the figure shown as my claim is a paltry 100 ish Yen, which is rejected.
I still have a copy of my claim form showing my claim as over 42000 Yen (i.e. 0.8BTC).

Apologies if the answer to this is posted elsewhere, perhaps I could be directed to a more appropriate thread,

thanks,
VH

My claim for 0.8 BTC has been rejected.
The reason given is "The reason for such rejection is that such amount does not exist."

When I click on the "view details of your claim button", it shows my claim as zero bitcoins and 2 south korean won.
I still have the original printout which shows the claim of 0.8 bitcoins ( no korean won at all!)
All the other details are correct.
I don't see the third button either.

Has anybody else found that there claim has changed in this way?

I have tried several times to access the site. I am certain I have the right password but I can't get in.
Started to doubt the password, so used the "forgot password" function. Was sent an access code ok, but then was asked for answer to security question.
Says answer to security question is not correct. But you don't get the make and model of your first car wrong!
Anybody else having these problems??
I keep coded notes of all passwords and I've never had any issues like this before.
I am only claiming 0.8BTC, but I still want it back....

I got the same letter too today ( UK also), but mine is written in English.
Main point is to keep an eye on the Mt.Gox website for further instructions regarding submitting a claim under the Bankruptcy before 28/11/14.

There is a very pronounced "wall" at 630 (on BTC-e) over the last few hours. Shows up very strongly on the bitcoinwisdom chart, don't remember seeing straight lines like this since last month on Gox. Would like to hear you guys take on this.

By "no longer exist", I mean the private keys have been lost and coins cannot be identified.

These 850K lost bitcoins, have they been stolen or do they no longer exist?
Or is it a mixture of both?

Does not seem like a very effective form of advertising. If you look at the transaction at blockchain.info it is "not found".
I would never have known that they came from bit***s unless I had read it here!

Uh Oh, another two have appeared.
They have happened at around the same time as yesterday and using the same address.
Hope this is not a pattern that is going to repeat..........

Today I noticed that these transactions are not found any more using blockchain.info.
I did a "reset blockchain and transactions" operation and they have now disappeared from the wallet.
I am using Multibit.

Thanks for all the responses, and apologies that I had not noticed that this issue had already been raised several times before.

Thanks for your answers, I still don't really understand, but I guess you are saying that it's not really a problem and the transactions will get cancelled on their own in a few days any way.
This could be a real nuisance though if it gets worse and everybody starts getting dozens or even thousands of these things.
That is exactly the kind of thing which would put people off using BTC and probably kill it off.

When you say don't spend from that address, do you mean that "wallet"?
When I used the term "address", I meant receiving address.
If you can't spend from the wallet, then thats a pain if you have all your coins in one wallet.

Wish I understood that tacotime.
So, should I avoid using the address thats been spammed?
I have read that deleting addresses from your wallet can cause problems- is that true...

Sounds like there is a good opportunity here for somebody to develop a "spam filter" to put a stop to this. A wallet that did that would be worth having.

Just had a look to see what "bitwars" is, am none the wiser.
Still don't understand how it can be affecting me if I have never had any contact with them.
Did they harvest my address from somebody else that I had contact with? Like some kind of infectious bit-disease!
