Hows development on this coin going?

This coin is still under the radar but looks really good. You can talk with the community on slack, so far mostly russian people but I have seen more and more people speaking english over the past weeks/days. It's definitely coin to keep an eye on.

I thought it might be a good idea to make a list of short, one-sentence descriptions/summaries of the top altcoins and assets on CoinMarketCap. This idea isn't new, but most of the existing lists out there are old and outdated. Of course, it's possible to search the name of each coin/asset on Google and go through the links one by one or read through their [ANN] threads but this can be a rather tedious process. So I think this would save people some time.

Since the list is always changing, I'll try to update it every few days/weeks.

The coins/assets in red are ones that I don't know much about, so they currently lack a description. I might add their description later on. Or feel free to suggest a short, one-sentence description and I'll add it to the list. If there are any mistakes or I've left something important out, then feel free to point it out as well.

Bitcoin: The original cryptocurrency
Ethereum: Decentralized application platform for running 'smart contracts'
Ripple: Distributed peer-to-peer payment network and currency exchange
Litecoin: First successful scrypt coin
Dash: Anonymous coin with decentralized mixing and instant transactions (via masternodes) and decentralized governance
Monero: Bytecoin fork (CryptoNote-based anonymity) with fair distribution
Ethereum Classic: Fork of Ethereum where the hacked TheDAO funds were not returned to investors
NEM: NXT-inspired coin with modified PoS system ("proof-of-importance") and wider initial distribution
Augur: Decentralized prediction markets built on Ethereum
MaidSafeCoin: Token to be exchanged 1:1 for Safecoin once the SAFE Network (a decentralized data storage and communication platform) goes live

Golem: Decentralized Ethereum-based computation network for buying/selling computing power
Zcash: Anonymous coin where transactions are verified without the sender/receiver and amount transferred being known (zero-knowledge proofs)
Tether: Blockchain-based representation of the US dollar backed by fiat reserves
Dogecoin: First meme-based coin
Decred:
PIVX: Dash fork
Stratis: Customizable blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) development platform for businesses and organizations
Waves:
Factom: Blockchain-based record-keeping system
Steem: Reddit-esque social networking/blogging platform

Iconomi:
DigixDAO:
BitConnect:
SingularDTV:
Round: Decentralized Ethereum-based eSports platform
Lisk: Decentralized Javascript application platform
First Blood: Decentralized Ethereum-based eSports platform
Bytecoin: Anonymous coin and the first to use CryptoNote technology (ring signatures)
GameCredits: Coin for the gaming industry (in-app or in-game purchases)
BitShares:

Miscellaneous coins not in the top 30:

Auroracoin: Coin for Icelandic residents
Burst: Coin mined using free hard drive space ("proof-of-capacity")
Gridcoin: Coins rewarded for contribution to BOINC network
Huntercoin: Human-mineable coin where coins are harvested by playing a game
Namecoin: Decentralized Domain Name System (DNS)
NXT: First pure proof-of-stake coin
Omni: Platform for creating custom assets/currencies on top of the Bitcoin blockchain
Peercoin: First coin to use proof-of-stake (actually hybrid PoW/PoS)
Primecoin: Coin with proof-of-work system that searches for prime numbers
RISE: Lisk fork
mix xing assets, master-node-centric-networks, and opensource chains into one blend of brown gloop.
smells funny too!

Thanks for the list, really interesting. What about SIBcoin? 95 on coinmarketcap at the moment, i'm just curious about this one.

Blockchain app stuck at "downloading wallet" and blockchain.info don't sens SMS
by

Hi,

Since yesterday i couldn't connect on my account at blockchain.info because the SMS code was not send but it was not a problem because i used the blockchain app on my phone and i was able to do my transaction.

This morning i tried again but it still don't work and now my account is blocked for 3 hours.

And more of that !! when i try to connect through the app it is stuck at "downloading wallet"

I know i should store my bitcoins offline but around 1 month ago i had to transfer all my btc from multibit from an online account on blockchain because as my wallet was 4 years old and had hundred of transaction i had to sync it everydays, it was taking hours and had many errors...

As any of you been dealing with this kind of problem ?

thanks

Yeah I tried to contact the devs a while ago to completely buy out the entire code as well as some other dead coins. I have some good ideas but the dev teams must not care at all. The crypto world is just sad at this point but I know some of us still have good intentions...

this !

devs left like the biggest coward, they don't even had the balls to post here and they don't give a shit.

Yeah, if that is the case, then taking over would not be a big deal at all Smiley

I have an MS in telecommunications and am not the smartest person on the team Smiley

Chris

Nice CV i just read it !

i have an MS in Digital Marketing and tried everything i could with MAST so take care i hope you will be successful. but i'm sure with this level of studies you understand it's better to start from Zero to get a strong foundation.

I wouldn't want to take over something that was completely faked...Obviously that would be completely idiotic, but if I could talk to the developers to see if they were close to making it work but just had to fake it to buy themselves time, that is a completely different story.  I just want to get in touch with them because it is very possible that it was something that had errors in the code, and they had to fake it to buy time.  I don't know.  I haven't talked to them personally, so hearing third party information is never good enough for me Smiley

I just hate to see coins that had potential and legitimate communities just die out like this...but if there was NEVER a recycler, and it was entirely fake, then we still can't take third hand information over the developers' words if they are willing to admit it.  Or if Vir6 can show screenshots.  Upon review of shoppery, I'd accept screenshots as proof that Mast is completely faked.

Smiley

Chris

Here is what i did for mast since the begining :

- Found the new name
- Made the logo
- Made the website
- Found partnership with exchanges (devs never answered them...)
- Founf investors who put a total of 20 btc in mast
- Invested 5 btc myselft
- Did most of the marketing
...

Tell me what screenshot do you need i will post everything here

I can even show you over teamviewer

i'm just trying to help you guys don't make a mistake, like i said it's better to make a whole new coin with maybe the coin recycler idea in it than working with mastcoin....

i lost money okay but that's how it works sometimes you loose sometime you win

More advice not to take over the coin by someone who is in the process of selling off the last of his coins. Obviously you are not going to get impartial advice from anyone in this thread so I guess it's down to you to make the decision yourself.

Sorry who are you and what have you done for MAST ?
I don't remember seeing you in the last 2 months...

hey stop please the community didn't abandoned the coin !!

devs did !!

also the coin recycler is not open source simply because it was a kind of fake, i didn't want to share it until now but it was never automatic devs was doing it manually and i received many mail from the contact form in the website from people who used it it didn't get any coin for 24 hours, i had to tell it to the devs and they were doing it manually...

really you want to rebrand again Huh

lol wtf you guys are so blind

for 0.15 btc someone can create you a full new coin...

this one is dead,

devs left, a lot of people lost money, reputation is bad, the distribution is really bad since the begining and those big dumps...and it's 100% POS, pos coins are slowly dying there is no future for them.

I find it really weird that you come here claiming you want to take over the coin, you could have choose a lot better...

the best would be to gather with the community from MastCoin, create a new coin with a long and nice POW period and like 5 Millions coins...
in this case it's better to start from something really new than trying to make it alive again...

but hey that's just my advice, do what you want  Grin

nice Smiley and vir6 take that down, you are hurting the chance of when someone else takes the coin over.

you are welcome

from dev's mouth, "It was just a basic Joomla CMS installation and template, nothing custom at all." (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=613622.msg7811188#msg7811188)

yeah yeah well i guess someone else will make one, i make websites and online marketing for a living but i must be wrong...

where are the fanboys who were defending the devs Huh

do you understand now that dev left and he doesn't give a shit about the coin ?? i bet they made another coin look at the new coins it is not hard to find...

Will you shut up?  We get it, you're out and as a post investor who lost money you want to see this coin burn in the fiercest of ways because then you actually made a good choice.  Even if the Dev did fucking leave there's absolutely nothing stopping people from developing this coin by ourselves.  Unless it's constructive I don't really want to hear your shit, THAT is why Dev deleted you comments.  Sure you have knowledge to help build a coin and it was stupid to ignore your opinions but now your just doing defamation.

thanks at least someone who say it, i feel better now

ok i understand it was a bit too rude i will try to stop posting here

sorry everyone i wish you the best for your futures investments

ps: i still have 48k if someone wants to buy, unless i will slowly dump at bittrex, it's just a matter of days before it gets delisted with that volume
