Keeping your coins in a desktop wallet is better and safer because they are on your own hands. An online wallet could be hacked, an exchange wallet also could be hacked or the owner can close it any time. Keeping your coins in a desktop wallet is safest. Yes, that's right, you are subject to several risks, that's why I keep my coins in a Desktop Wallet protected with a passphrase. I never leave coins in a Exchange Wallet and I keep some hundreds in the Online Wallet, due to my daily activity to collect virtacoins from btc faucets http://easysplashbuilder.net/93673/
