I throw up a little whenever I have to read one of the Paycon shill posts in this thread. Go back to your unfunny joke thread please.
Totally agree, it's not funny.

I think satire is a legitimate way to reflect and communicate about the GAW/Paycoin scam. I don't know who created PayCon  and I never even looked at its thread or website, but the things they post here for me work well as satire.

muddafudda created it as a clone of CzchezCoin (chezch? chech?), any ways I thought it was great idea to show that you can do more without a million dollar fund. We've spend a few dollars (under $1000), upgraded the code quite a bit, and rolling out new features soonTM, it's really not difficult to make something better....

Waste so much time arguing and suing people over money.

Once again. Please stop promoting your played out jokecoin in this thread. It is completely off topic and no one gives a fuck about it.

It only affects people who already own it, not about buying or selling. Not off-topic since it is a point that you don't need a CAF fund.

Make another thread for people who already own it and quit spamming this thread please.

Another thing I have not heard mention of either during the Whitewash or in the Hashtalker romper room is any thought about IF the ownership of these XPY pooping Prime Controllers are actually split between different entities, how exactly is that good for the price?

You've missed the point somewhat, there's no way to ever "fix" paycoin. Lets look at the options.

  • The Prime Controllers are removed with a hard fork. PayCoin is now a shitty PeerCoin fork that's broken, the client doesn't sync more than 500 blocks at a time, and there's nobody around to fix shit if it breaks even more. The coin distribution is fucked beyond repair due to the Prime Controller bullshit, so it's dead.

  • Team PayCoin attempts to pick up the pieces, maintaining their 5 Prime Controllers and trying to enforce "only" 100% inflation, Garza of course keep the other 45 keys which pump out coins until the end of time for no reason. Coin is dead due to it being stupidly over inflated and nobody ever wants or needs PayCoin to pump up the cost.

At the end of the day there's no reason for PayCoin to even exist.

https://c91475e716c8925e05c6-d2659d433205cf4410415f8dd63807af.ssl.cf5.rackcdn.com/paycoinwhitepaper.pdf

  • Instant transactions aren't something that needs to be solved by an altcoin (Bitcoin can have them with multisignature oracles, just nobody can be bothered making them because there's no huge financial exit).

  • Blockchain "compression" obviously doesn't need prime controller centralized bullshit to work (it's built into Bitcoin for fucks sake), the rest of the nonsense about Orion Controllers and stuff was just to justify to people why there should be people getting hyperinflation keys (so they can sell them to people with hashstaker contracts they bought from GAW, of course).

  • "HybridFlex Blockchain provides archival and final confirmation of all balances" well, funny thing is that balances aren't used in the block chain at all so that was always impossible.

  • "FundSafe" was never mentioned again after their whitepaper, it was just ignored because it made no sense to have "biometric signatures" as a concept in a cryptocurrency (it's impossible anyway).

  • "Paycoin features an extensible block chain" (SIC) funny, Bitcoin has that too with replaceable nop-codes. You could add the entire x86 instruction set to Bitcoin with no modifications and (gasp) no altcoin.

  • "Time based contracts", "Smart Property", "Advertising Micro Payment System", "Crowdfunding", "built in escrow" all just random words thrown into the soup without any real justification. Some impossible, some already in Bitcoin, none justify the coin and none of them have ever been mentioned ever again by anybody.

  • "Orion Controllers" and "Voting" never existed, transaction fees are destroyed by PeerCoin anyway.

  • "The hard problem of quantity theory" what.

  • Prime controllers were supposed to "perform archiving functions on the hybridflex blockchain", "reconciliation instructions for the blockchain to orion controllers", "participate in voting" (why would you vote for anyone but yourself), "have the exclusive rights to perform inter blockchain cold storage functions" (cold storage has nothing to do with the network), "stake rate of 5%" (all wallets do that anyway and it's what, like 3600% compounded for a prime controller), "voting rights to proposed changes in the codebase" (lol no). Same as above, impossible pie in the sky, just a random list of whims that were never actually coded up and never checked for sanity.

  • All the stuff about prime controller eligibility is literally impossible in a decentralized network, and all the prime controllers are hardcoded anyway, there's no way of changing them or moving them without hard forking the coin.

So, what's there to save? The only people with an interest in saving PayCoin are the bagholders. Nobody wants to buy PayCoin, nobody wants to use PayCoin, nobody has a compelling reason to even want paycoin. The only reason people have PayCoin in the first place is that they saw images like this.

Who decided it was a good idea to make a "whitepaper" that's all images you can't copy from too. Unbelievable.
Thanks for the link to the white paper. I found an interesting part of it under "6.2.2 Prime Controller Functions":

"Stake rate of 5% on all funds locked in the winning bid address[9]"
9: Prime Controller stake rate is 5% of all locked bid funds as a six month yield with the stake paid daily.

Does this correlate with the current stake rate?

Josh already has an account on BCT, why would he make another "official" account.  He previously wrote to me using the below account last year when I had a problem with an ASIC miner that I ordered, so I know the below account is valid.

The trust summary on that profile is interesting!

I decided to only write based on the code...

Any ETA when Review for PayCon(-Code) and maybe later some other Coin ,too ?

Well I want it to be a good review as well so I pushed the 12 or so commits I had built up locally

While PayCoin is burning from all sides, PayCon is doing actual development and pushing real commits Smiley

March 31, 2015

Added delete address GUI

Added sorting based on weight and age to Coin control

Added Combo box for selecting Coins in Coin control based on age, weight, time etc.

Added sorting of transactions based on date range to keep track of Staked Blocks.

Fixed link to C-Cex to link directly to the PayCon market and changed the forum link to link to the Cryptoplays forums instead of paycon.slack.com

New Windows and Mac wallets will be sometimes next week as I also want to do some improvements to sync speed and litehashing to add more efficiency to CPU usage.

Are you in the right thread?

Yeah I am sure he wants to prove his detractors wrong because if he doesn't he knows the SEC is already breathing down his neck and he will probably be in jail.

Based on some posts over at GH, it looks like the plan is to shut Paybase (May 2) and ZenCloud (~June) down and have the coin completely detached from GAW.

I don't see how that proves anything other than a complete and total failure.

According to xmk3 on GH forums, "Apologies, I wanted to correct this statement... The announcement was supposed to be 4/2, it will go up this morning instead. The actual shutdown date will be 4/30. (sorry again)"

There is no salvation for these people.

They still prefer to blame a news site instead of Josh for not delivering what he promised.

These people will be scammed again and again, they will never learn.

BTW, CoinFire is offline.

CoinFire is working for me..

It appears gawceo is banned on hashtalk forums? http://imgur.com/bMO3lwE

Nope, he's alive and well:

That other one is some kind of a fake, maybe some non-latin characters in the username or something like that.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I thought it was a bit strange!

At this rate we'll be back to just 100 pages in a week.  Roll Eyes

Interesting to note that Homero Vlad2Vlad has been deleting all of his comments since the coinfire article. I wonder how many other sockpuppets of Homeors have been busy scurrying back into the darkness?

Many, as this thread alone shows!

post count declining... someone doesn't want to be on record? Thing is... that's too late...as if deleting anything here will stay gone if legal requires it?

I think I read somewhere that Bitcointalk would cooperate with authorities if subpoenaed, including backups.

Furthermore, if the agencies have been keeping an eye on this clusterfuck for months now, it makes sense that they would be archiving everything of interest, including hashtalk and perhaps a few threads here with all linked material. I'm sure they have more serious tools than archive.today or archive.org.

bitcointa.lk archives everything right?

Sadly no, I think it's dead since mid last year or so.

Theymos complied with DPR subpoena, and included deleted posts, according to his post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881488.0

Does anyone know if there is law regarding time limitation on filing of chargebacks from credit card companies against GAW MINERS?

I am unsure about a limitation by law, but most CCs have a limit, stated in the terms of service, regarding the duration. Usually the limit is between 40-180 days since the transaction. If you contact the provider, they will be able to help you much more. Best of luck!

Thomas Fraser of Zenminer was mentioned but no indication of any position in company

Look him up on LinkedIn. He's certainly not a coder.

From the article: "The developers are right from the mining community and have been working closely with Thomas of Zenminer who started this project 10 months ago, so you know the code going into it is solid."

Just for the record "terrorist" is the modern day bogey man.

Just for the record: what is currently misnamed "terrorism" is actually "jihad" -- and has a very long bloody history predating the US by more than 1000 years. This is obviously completely off topic in this thread.

I disagree, terrorism, as defined by the US government includes more than muslims.  There is a reason they said that if you believe in the US constitution, ever served in the military, use ham radio or internet chat and a whole bunch of other things you might be a terrorist.  It is basically anyone the US gov disagrees with or is unable to politically control.

Further jihad answers the "why" question where terrorism answers the "how" question.  You can be a jihadi without being a terrorist and you can be a terrorist without being a jihadi.

The reason this is on-topic is because of the claim of terror funding.  Was it specified if it was domestic or foreign terrorism?  For all I know he was helping support one of the activist groups (ELF is listed as a terror organization), militias (some but not all are terror orgs some just do the more historical role), or perhaps some other crazy group out there somewhere in the world.

I ask because while there are things mentioning ISIS there are also a lot of conclusions people have jumped to and I did not know what was factual and what was speculation with the ISIS ties.

From Coinfire article:

"The DHS investigation also names a second individual based in Saudi Arabia as a potential second suspect in money laundering operations. This individual gave Mr. Garza large sums of cash off the books via wire transfers and was complacent and intimately involved with Mr. Garza."

I will second that Scott Fargo is genuine and taking more blame than he should. I do not know about Bitjane..
I think bitjane did wake up a while ago. on twitter she was also calling out Homero to make things right. I think she invited friends to this "investment" and they were losing money. I think that was the breaking point (she mentioned friends but I don't know if it was HT friends or personal/work friends).

I just meant that I do not know anything about Bitjane; Scott Fargo I can comment on though. I hope you are correct though, since already too many that have been duped by GAW.

So I want to add some additional information to this conversation, or more of a reminder to the folks here.

I registered at hashtalk, and made a few posts (amazingly I haven't been banned yet!). I've had a few personal convo's with folks, and I want to remind everyone that there are real genuine people that were swept up in the hype being supporters and got swindled.

Why am I posting this?

Well, because 1. I have a soft spot for genuine people and 2. we really shouldn't shun people if in the end they understand what has transpired. Mr Garza has done some very shady and unscrupulous things, but dont directly take it out on others who have been tricked into his weave of deception.

Two people I want to point out here, and sure I may get trolled for it, but they are Scott Fargo and BitJane. I had a long convo with Bitjane and she seems to have moved on to other things. I think (but this is speculation from me since I didn't directly ask) that she now understands what has happened and no longer wants to be associated with GAW. She is trying to help build up another community unassociated with GAW, and I personally give kudos to her for doing so.

On Scott, I have been trading emails back and forth with him and in the spirit of being transparent I will be doing an interview with him. However, I ended up having a 2 hour phone convo with him last night that really proved to me that he is a die hard crypto community member (not a die hard GAW supporter). He is very curious and ambitious about cryptos, and loves to learn about everything that is going on from the technology to businesses (being a news reporter I can understand why he has this desire). In the end, between both persons I am convinced that they are good people and got dragged into this mess. I would think that I am a good judge of people, and I hope this will ease the trolling off a bit (directly, like emails and such).

Also as I mentioned on hashtalk, I offered to consult on the new XYPteam and their new ventures on fixing the code. I have been put in contact with them via a third party but I have not responded yet, mainly because I am trying to figure out if they are a separate group from GAW. If so, I am more than happy to tell them what needs to be fixed. Their community has taken a beating, mainly from the company that has control of the code base, which is unacceptable to me.

I think my reputation along with the folks in this thread who know me can certainly vouch for me. I felt I needed to post this because people are targeting folks who they shouldnt, they should be targeting one and only one person, Mr Garza.

EDIT: Due to the suggestion of someone else, I should state the opinions above are from me and my thoughts on GAW. Not representing any other company or entity.

I don't know BitJane but I agree that Scott Fargo from my brief communication with him sounded like a genuine enthusiast and journalist taking a disproportionate amount of blame. Also keep in mind CCN's (not Fargo's personal) relationship with GAW, uncovered in the e-mails and also now in CoinFire's article.

I disagree regarding XPY though. I think you'd be wasting your time with that one. 97% premine was and remains its death warrant, unless TeamXPY can somehow neutralize that and remove GAW completely. Even then, TeamXPY is headed by Adam Matlack aka Huey, "disciple maker" from Texas, also head of XPY Foundation (the "non-profit"). There is something fishy in all this, be careful or the stink will follow you forever Smiley

I will second that Scott Fargo is genuine and taking more blame than he should. I do not know about Bitjane..

It would be nice to have the ability to blacklist rigs manually so they are never rented (and also perhaps not include rentals with below X rating, or with no rating). There seems to be a rig or two that are low rating and poor performance on the site and it would be nice to be able to manually decide whether or not to rent the rigs. It would also help customers avoid renting the scam rigs and give less profits to the scammers.

Thanks for the great site and API scripts added so far!

Re: how to manage 6 Antminer S1 Technobit Hex16 / pools switching
by
vnhyp0
on 12/04/2014, 10:16:53 UTC
I setup a proxy to direct my 8 miners at whatever pool I decide on by using batch files. I point my miners at my PC running the proxy (or a rasp pi usually) and just switch proxies when I want to change pools.

I use slush proxy and several settings while launching it; my command looks like this:

start mining_proxy.exe -o us1.ghash.io -p 3333 -rt -gp 8332 -sp 3332 -cu vdv.proxy -cp x

The command will launch a proxy for the Ghash.io pool, and listen on port 8332 for getwork and 3332 for stratum. In the case of S1s, you should use getwork port. The next commands tell the proxy that, no matter what worker name subscribes to the proxy for work will work using the username and password provided (vdv.proxy and password x).

This allows one to put any name/pw in the mining program controlling the machine, and control the work sent to pool by the proxy setup. This allows one to make several proxy shortcuts for different pools which may require different usernames or a BTC address as username etc..

Hope this helps for you!
