Board Mining (Altcoins)

I started mining there earlier today. Haven't received a payout yet, but everything seems to be working ok. I think I'm going to switch to middlecoin though, as it has more support on this forum. I'm planning on doing 24 hours at each and comparing the results.

I'm trying to write a no-fee p2pclient. So there's at least one pool in the works.

Sounds super interesting. I am running at around 5000pps across 4 servers and haven't found a block all day.

Holy shit. This makes me want to give up, lol. Haven't found any blocks in a couple days, now. I guess the good times are over, eh?

If I am not mistaken, the starting difficulty was 6.

I started mining 1h late. Sorry for the colors, I am using my vision enhancement nano-augmentations:

That would make the difficulty increase for all time ~0.00574% per block.

Is there a way to check past difficulty levels? Or did anyone take note of what it has been? I'm going to attempt to keep a log over the next few days to see if we can get an idea of where the difficulty is going (and therefore what the reward/inflation rate will be). Also this should be useful in determining the compute power of the network.

Currently it sits at d=7.23843342. This jives well with the block reward I just received (r=19.07).

(999 / d^2) = r <=> d = sqrt(999/r)

So, with a reward of 19.07 we have d=7.23781.

In the time it took me to write this, the difficulty changed to d=7.24123460 in about 15 minutes. So, if my math was right the difficulty increased by almost 0.04% in 15 min or almost 0.003% per block. Using both of the blocks I found gives around 0.002% difficulty increase per block. This is all assuming a one minute block time, so take this all with a grain of salt.

According to Bitcoin Magazine, a doubling of computer power would cause a 0.02% increase in the difficulty of the next block. I'm off to bed!

Just for reference to others, I found one block (slightly <20 XPM) in 24 hours of mining on a quad core AMD (Phenom II) machine. I was beginning to worry I wouldn't find one! Hang in there.

What happens if the double payment recovery makes one's balance go negative?

I didn't realize a bug had happened at first and reinvested in TAT shares (the overpayment amount to a little over a dollar, so I'm not worried about paying it back- I just don't want my account closed or something).

I'm interested. Under what conditions will you stop sending dividends? After 500% is reached and 12 months have passed or will you continue after that? Also, do you have an OTC account or some other reputation?

Hello, I'd really like to be able to post as I have an issue of relevance to users of the site icbit.se. It seems there is some kind of software glitch or something in the site. I've spent a LOT of time on this forum, but never needed to post anything until today.  Grin

bitcoin is worth the price people that are willing to pay for it.

CNN said it was only worth $15. Guess they must know more than you!
Mt.Gox say they are worth $165.

Yeah, somebody should tell CNN.

I just tried to deposit some funds into Mt. Gox as well. Afterwards I went to check my balance and noticed it hadn't changed. Apparently they changed all the account numbers and I was not aware of this, so my funds were sent to the old account number. Not sure if this affected you but it may be something to look into. Hopefully I can get my money back, I emailed support but apparently it will take 3 days to get a reply. Hopefully the price doesn't move too much at the beginning of this week.  Roll Eyes

I have several investors that are looking to create a new exchange.  Is this a worthwhile endeavor or is MTGOX the only exchange that is necessary at this time.

The more exchanges the better, if you ask me. I want to start a local exchange, though, and then move to an online exchange later on.

Hello, here a Spanish suffering the crisis cause we were over spending (i listen that every day...). (I have no car, no house, just studies of engineer and working on a company for international projects earning 1000€ and still listening that i am earning too much ).

Ha, ha. You are lucky. I'am teaching electronics at a university for 400€/month. This salary is fixed by our goverment and it was same before crisis...

Wow, that's pretty harsh. Glad I don't live in Europe, although I'd love to be in Liechtenstein! The US isn't much better I'm afraid.

I'm a CS and economics student (and semi-retired) which explains why I love Bitcoin so much! I live in the northwest part of the US and I am posting in these forums for the first time because I need to figure out how to get Bitcoins the cheapest to resell. I've been mining since about December of last year, at which point I was losing money every month but I figured it was fun and I didn't care, and I figured that BTC was undervalued anyways. I wish I would have done more back then!

I want to open a local exchange once I create enough demand here for bitcoins. Apparently all the bulk sellers are closed or not accepting customers at this time, though. I shudder to think I might have to go through Mt. Gox for all my buying. Last time I ended up spending close to 10% just to get the money there. Obviously it paid off, but it is so expensive with all the middle men!
