Will bitcoin eventually dominate the world economy and replace traditional currencies?
I don't think it's ever possible. Now Bitcoin is the 7th largest currency in the world, that's great, but we shouldn't be so optimistic. Bitcoin can't replace fiat because of many reasons.

Re: Should We Avoid US Based Exchanges Now?
by

Avoiding US based exchanges won't be the solution. Bitfinex, for example, is based in Hong Kong, nevertheless its customers have to pass KYC. Don't want to deal with it? Avoid centralized exchanges.

Cool. I've heard that some airlines and travel agencies started accepting payments in Bitcoin. But a possibility to use Bitcoin for paying treatment is something new.

Huge adoption is far away, but we are moving towards it. New 2017 is caused by a number of reasons I don't know if this affect will continue for a long time or it will be a craze like 3 years ago.

Many people consider Bitcoin as an investment or a store of wealth. I'm wondering why they forget the purpose of launching Bitcoin.

Re: Best wallet to improve Bitcoin privacy, Wasabi, Samourai or something else?
by
voron7477
on 30/10/2020, 04:52:34 UTC
Wasabi makes it harder to spy on your balance and payments by rotating addresses, doesn't disclose information to peers on the network when receiving or sending a payment, it's compatible with Tor.
Samourai will alert you if you have sent to an address before, provides, by default, a transaction that increases the difficulty of linking inputs to outputs of a transaction, making clustering wallet addresses and associated metadata more difficult, makes transactions more complicated to analyze, it's Tor and VPN enabled.

Re: What's the best wallet for Mac?

More multicurrency wallets here that you can use on MacOS

1. Guarda Wallet - https://guarda.com - Partially Open source (part of the code is available for the public to view)
2. Atomic Wallet - https://atomicwallet.io - Not Open source
3. Jaxx Liberty - https://jaxx.io - Partially Open source (part of the code is available for the public to view)

Disclaimer: Although I have used the wallets in the past, by suggesting them here,  it does not mean I am endorsing any of them
I can't trust Jaxx after it was compromised in 2017. Plus it has some cons like seed extraction vulnerability.

Accept my congratulations. It's a really cool achievement. But I can't catch one thing. How can people getting the MBD be unfamiliar to Bitcoin? It sounds odd a bit.

Saying that Bitcoin has done for somebody a lot isn't correct. Bitcoin is just a tool, nothing more.

Re: The End of "USD" as the World's Reserve Currency

⭐ Merited by mindrust (2)
The current financial system demonstrated its inefficiency in 2008, but USD is still a reserve currency. Why should Covid-crisis be much different? The entire world is entering the recession too. It isn't the  dollar apologetic polemic, it's a fact that there isn't a worthy alternative to replace it.
I've also read some analytics about the possibility of returning to the gold standard. If it actually happens, it will stop the dollar from free fall and made it the better reserve currency.

Re: Bitcoin after the year of 2140
by

on 18/05/2020, 17:31:23 UTC
I believe after 2140 Bitcoin will have a strong reputation of the world reserve crypto like the US dollar in the global financial system now. And it's evident that Bitcoin will cost more than ever due to inflation of fiat money. I hope the scalability problem will be solved, the number of transactions per second will significantly increase.

Unfortunately, your funds can't be turned back. And a tip for you - never use hot wallets for storing big amounts of crypto. Just spend $50-100 on a hardware wallet, and no one will steal your Bitcoins again.

There are a lot of courses about blockchain and cryptocurrency in universities. I don't know if studying about crypto at school is a good idea, but every student can find free courses at educational portals like Coursera.

by

I don't think that Ethereum smart contracts can be compared with Bitcoin fork. And I'm sure that Bitcoin hodlers saying "I'm here for the technology" don't consider holding only as a way of getting some new coins by airdrops.

Re: What is the Coronabond?

Coronabonds were called eurobonds before the pandemic started. These bonds are shared debt instruments to finance borrowing, where money can be redirected to the countries that need it most.
