Does piggycoin have a slack going anywhere? I recently learnt about piggycoin and couldn't believe how small the marketcap is for it. I can't help with the development but I'd be happy to help with marketing/infographics etc

I have just bought some 8bit coins and I want to set up a masternode running but How many coins to setup for one masternode? and How to get a good masternode on windows 10 PC.

takes 112 coins per masternode right now, but dev says he is going to release new version of wallet eventually which is going to increase the mn requirement to 1024 coins

Look at the beginning of this forum thread and there is a guide to setup a masternode on the first page.  Now setting up multiple masternodes will be a task, but I know how to do it on other coins so we will see how it goes.

My blockchain is almost completely downloaded, so I will post my results once I got the masternodes set up.

Where'd you download the wallet from? The dropbox links on the first page don't work

Ok, as promised here is the full blockchain I got from my Linux wallet as a backup about a week ago:
https://mega.nz/#!ygViUI4b!YorYjEl2BKZj6u5m6AcSCQkQSGKqbBshY1VOfCtWerM
Great, just downloaded and put it in my 8bit folder, its working great!  Thanks a lot!

You're welcome Smiley

On a different note - while its great to have http://explorer.8-bit.ga/ block explorer, but it misses one very important feature - the active node list. It would be extremely helpful to have an officially published list of nodes to connect.

I have all the "nodeXX.8-bit.ga" nodes in my 8bit.conf, however most of the time I have just one or two peers, most of which are not even up to date. My default connection port (18888) is open and "listen" is set to 1, so I don't see what prevents me from connecting to other nodes, if there are any. As a result my stakes are not being accepted, and running masternode has no effect as the network seem, to accept only *some* nodes, while ignoring others. Does anyone has similar issues and/or... is someone playing with the code..?  Wink

I'm going to add 2 nodes on different servers, and when they are up and running, you can add my ip to your addnode list.

Are you able to provide a how to guide for setting up masternodes? I want to get a few going to and help secure the network

According to Bittrex and the block explorer, the chain is running smooth. Numbers don't lie  Cool

I want to invest some money to this coin. How interesting is this coin to attract more investors? I like some coins with masternode and anonymous transactions and this coin has  the same functions like this but it seems the price is quite low and undervalued? Are there any plans to boost this coin up higher?

I just bought enough coins to build 25 masternodes.  Im going to pass some out to my friends around the US, so we can get the network more stablized.  I'm not sure how long the blockchain will take to download, but once it is complete, I'll set up the masternodes.  Right now is the time to buy, even if it is just one masternode. At 112 coins per node, the coin is a bargain right now.  I am still trying to find out more info about the coin.

Is anyone else interested in this coin still?

8-bit-party wrote on the previous page it's 1024 coins per masternode, not 112. I've seen both figures, can someone clarify?

UPDATES/ROADMAP

Things we can do now:
Fix some memory issue on wallets.
Making ipv6 usage better on the network.
Fork number of coins needed to make MasterNode to bigger number for example 7500.

Future updates:
We are working and testing possible implementations of Zerocash protocol on the chain to get even more anonymous.
We also test making testing Electrum wallet fork from dashpay/electrum-dash

Please discuss if you are interested in MN number change. This would require a hardfork so with this we could do more changes in the code too. Let us know your ideas and opinions.

If the number of coins needed for a masternode is raised won't that cause problems later on when the price increases? People will be less likely to have 7500 compared to 5000. Also what's happening with that major exchange integration?
I'm glad to see some active development for this coin though, especially with the subreddit and slack channel to get more people involved

IPV6 needs brackets so put:
addnode=[2001:0:9d38:6abd:388b:a0d:c2ba:73c1]

other than this nodes work

for MN i used bumba guide and worked fine. just port and IP get from google

It's still not working so I'll step you through exactly what I've done. I'm keen to solve this problem once and for all

1. Entered my IP address in the address form. I've done this twice, once using the "ip" from "getinfo" in the console. I wrote it as [2001:0:9d38:6abd:388b:a0d:c2ba:73c1]:23230
The second time I just used my IP address from google eg 122.108.246.144:23230

2. Entered "dumpprivkey (and my masternode address)" in the console, and copied this privkey into the field.

3. entered "masternode outputs" in the console and entered the long string into the Tx Hash and the other number into the output index. I've got my output index as 0, but in the tutorial photo it's a 1. Does this matter? It shows up as 0 from masternode outputs

4. Clicked update and start. It starts up, a few coins might come through before it stops working, with the message "not in masternode list" appearing for the status. I've also copied the addnode stuff into the .conf file. I just pasted it in the next line in notepad. I'm assuming that's ok?

Thanks for your help!

maybe the masternode is stopping?
try starting it again.

It is stopping, and when I start it again it works for a few minutes to half an hour and then stops again. But I don't want to have to restart it 30 times a day

its' probably ipv6 , here's the two different formats. i've never tried it. so give it a go Smiley

addnode=[2001:0:9d38:90d7:1ce9:2c3a:a6b5:1504]
addnode=61.69.140.62
addnode=[2001:0:9d38:6abd:388b:a0d:c2ba:73c1]
addnode=97.84.236.237

dumpprivkey ?

^ two p's (lol. another error in my tutorial .. and it's only been up there 10 months or so)

if still no, you can try "help" to get a list of commands, and get proper speeling

I got it to work thanks, however I restarted my computer, and now it's coming up as "not in the masternode list". When I click start, it says invalid private key (which is weird because it was working before). And when I try to edit it to check the private key, it won't let me. It also won't let me remove it.
Any ideas on this problem?

I'm getting an output from "getpeerinfo", it just doesn't include addrlocal.
How do I fill out the .conf file? I thought you said this was automatic? I'm not the best with computers so sorry if it's obvious

lol. i see what you mean Smiley i'll need to update that tutorial.

addrlocal no longer appears in that output,

soooo, instead youcan do a
"getinfo"

then copy your ip data from that.

..

as for the output file (masternode.conf)
if you use the "create" option in the wallet via the masternodes tab.
that file will be created automatically.

you can create it manually,
ie create a new txt file, rename to "masternode.conf"
then you can manually enter the exact same details as you would if you used auto process,

all the details are there in the tutorial. (hehe except the addrlocal issue)

When using "getinfo" my IP data doesn't look like an address. Assuming it is ok, do I just add a random port number to the end?
Dumprivkey also doesn't work for me.

I've been trying to follow this guide for masternode setup
http://bumbacoin.blogspot.com.au/2016/07/how-to-setup-exclusive-coin-master-node.html
however I don't have the line "addrlocal". Do you know how to fix this? Also with the .conf file, I just added what was in that guide, plus the code pasted in here a few posts back. Did I just save it as a .conf file and that's it?

the guide uses the inbuilt functionality of the wallet,
so it will auto create the file masternode.conf

addrlocal is yr wallet ip address.
it might work ok without it. i've never tested.

but ..
if you dont have the line then it seems you're not doing it right Smiley
this is the relevant bit ..
i've modified it slightly hopefully for a tad more clarity

Code:
to get your address:port
go to debug console and enter
"getpeerinfo"

I've tried that but it's not working. All I've done so far is send 5000EXCL to a new address in the wallet. Is there anything else I need to do beforehand?

are you getting any output from that command ?

you need the 5000 coins, then the masternode.conf filled out, then it should work.

I'm thinking of setting up a masternode. Apart from the 5k coins, what else do I need?
For dash I've seen some kind of hosting service needed? Will I need to pay for that for excl?
This will be my first masternode setup so I'm not sure what I'm doing.

Heya iam fairly new to crypto , well since mid last year..so iam no coding expert or anything iam a graphics guy...i set this up in about 30 minutes it was so simple i was shocked....all you do is download and install the EXCL wallet (mine was the windows version) and i am just running it on my old laptop so no service needed for how i did it..i just followed this tutorial from dash it works exactly the same https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DOC/Simple+MN+on+a+Windows+machine   and that it ive already got 3 transactions come through in under 2 hours.

Does anyone have a full guide on how to setup masternodes for this coin? I've never setup a masternode before, so the more detail the better thanks
Since masternodes are so big right now 8bit has caught my attention, since it's so cheap

Also if this coin is alive and still being developed what do people think about starting up a sub-reddit and/or slack?

If the exchange to be added is my prediction, EXCL will not dream ten times more than it is now.

What's your prediction?
