Will fractions of a Monero receive the airdrop as well? For example, will 0.5 XMR get 5 XMV, or an integer number of XMR is needed?

Probably not a good time to invest a lot into mining at this time, but on the other hand you could get a good deal on a used rig since many are trying to sell theirs. You should be able to find a 6 RX 570 rig for less than $2.5k, at least that's what I would ask for one of mine

Like others have said, make sure Windows has the correct amount of virtual memory. The formula is:

N (# of GPUs) * GB per GPU

In my case I needed 6 GPUs * 4 GB = 24 GB (24,576) before Device Manager recognized all my GPUs. I had 20GB before and that was not enough

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed a user interface that is not designed well might chase people away even before trying the functionality behind it. We'll look into some clean interfaces and plan for some UI changes in the near future. I'll report back once implemented.

I think slowly but surely other currencies like ETH, NEO or XRP will be catching up with Bitcoin if its slow transaction time is not dealt with. After closing the gap for a while will not be much of a surprise anymore when it is dethroned. Once that happens drops in BTC price will not drag the whole market down anymore

Just an update, I ended up buying the mining rigs, 19 GPUs total. It runs quite stable for ETH or ETC, but did not have much luck until now with smaller coins though. The rigs keep disconnecting when trying to mine MUSIC, ETN, ... which use different miners like claymore or sg-miner-xmr. I think it's something with the software miner settings, but did not have much time to dig deeper into it

Thanks!

1. Yes, there is more work to do on the user interface, especially preserving the look across different browsers. The focus was mostly on functionality until now. We'll work on that

2. Adding a Note/Label field was on our todo list but we were not sure if it is really needed. Now we know

ViewPointCrypto - cryptocurrency portfolio tracker

Hi all,

After getting tired to keep updating Excel spreadsheets to track our investments, we decided to create a simple spreadsheet like automatic portfolio tracker online.
The website is free to use with no log-in requirements. The data is stored on browser's local storage for privacy reasons. In order to access the same portfolio from another device, or just to back it up, there is the option of saving it on the server and load it on a different machine (encrypted and anonymous).

www.viewpointcrypto.com

It supports:
- more than 1500 coins
- add transactions based on coin price or total cost
- multiple transactions per coin with collapsible transactions view
- automatic portfolio value and gain/loss calculations based on latest market data
- sort portfolio asc/desc on cost, value, gain, rank, etc.
- save/load option

Feedback is welcome, let us know what you think.

Cheers!
A few crypto enthusiasts

Electroneum (ETN) will jump once the mobile mining app is released hopefully soon (currently in Beta test version)

Ethorse (HORSE) is staying in between 160%-260% since ico even with the market drop

FunFair (FUN) did very well before the drop, might jump again when market recovers

Thanks guys, got it, plenty of time left and many other coins to mine anyway.
Now I'll have to make the decision if I pull the trigger to buy it or not. Mining calculator shows the investment will pay for itself in about 10 months mining ETH, but still it is a significant amount of money to commit.

Hi, I have the opportunity to buy a mining rig with 4GB  RX 570 and 580 cards at a decent price. That will work just fine for ETH for now but how about 1 year out?  Is this a good investmen or should I better pay more and get the 8GB versions?

I keep watching NEO for a while now. Every time as soon as the market starts showing signs of improvement NEO is among the fastest to move up. It is one of the best performing currencies in my portfolio

Thanks. Indeed, ETN was until now the coin to go back to for me, and I might just mine it again after exploring other options. I will probably try the coins s0ftcorn recommended for a day or so each to see what potential they have. I'll report back once I'll have more data

home computer mining recommendations?
by
vpcrypto2018
on 21/02/2018, 01:05:04 UTC
Hi, I am experimenting mining with my desktop computer for a few weeks now and I was wondering what feedback/recommendations you guys might have about this. I am using two Nvidia GPUs GTX 750 Ti and GTX 1050 Ti plus the CPU i7-4790.

I started with ETN Electroneum which was giving about 40coins/day 6 weeks ago ($6/day not too bad at that time), but now it is down to about 15coins/day. I also tried BCN Bytecoin and got about 100coins/day, DERO 2coins/day and just started to look into VERT.

Not looking to make a fortune with this setup but I was wondering what coins would be the most profitable for such a low/medium end setup? Any new coins that are easy to mine at home and have good potential down the road?

Thanks!
