Hey Gin coin team,

Really interesting business model and a great way to lower the barrier to entry for master nodes.
I've been doing some research trying to understand the economic model and have 2 questions:

1. is it documented anywhere that I can read it so that I don't ask stupid questions that have already been answered
2. is there any future plan to let people pay for hosting in the coin of their choice (eg the MN coin or BTC/ETH etc) or is it always going to be GIN?

The ICO model is great but the hype has meant that people are investing without doing research. There's alot of investment happening on FOMO or following well known people who are paid to shill. Its difficult if you don't understand technology, business models or a market vertical to assess the long term value of a proposition. There are so many ICOs happening where the market and tech haven't been tested. There are also amazing ICOs. So I think the concept will continue but it will be harder for the less compelling ICOs to get a share of the bear market $.

The 'crimes' altcoin status is just fud. There are legitimate reasons for wanting privacy. Trying to 'criminalise' that by association is insane.

This coin is alive and development is underway. Stealth addressing was just released last week.

Don't buy into the lies of the FUD spreaders.

This is a very interesting coin. Good utility and small market cap so room for growth.
There's not alot of information on this thread though - seems a little early.

ICO check is the first place I go when looking at an ICO.
They don't look at the tech or the community etc, which is what alot of ICOs focus on... they have a set of due diligence questions that they use to figure out whether the company and the founders are legit or not. It's a community effort and they publish any evidence they find.

It's a good resource as in input into decision making.

People will tell you to do your own research and it's a cliche but it's true. Check your confirmation bias at the door, do your own research and figure out if you would buy the product (or think that a business would) that the ICO is proposing.

It sounds like someone trying to control the price. May be hard to achieve though with the whole market rallying at the moment.

Is there a real-life use for this coin? Or is it a masternode ponzi?

Jump on discord. There are plenty of helpful people there. May be a configuration issue or the app being blocked by your OS or something. Definitely worth persevering with.

This is a really interesting idea. I'm not 100% clear on why it's a blockchain project though? Is the blockchain for quality control? or supply chain management? Would be great to get some more detail.

The whitepaper has a good description of the coin, including the rationale for airdropping to the community and why the airdrops are for 'proof of community'. A great way to build engagement IMHO.

You only make a real profit or loss at the time that you sell. Given the market keeps appreciating it makes sense to HODL until you need the cash. Like most investments a long term view makes sense. Unlike most investments, long term in crypto is 5 years.
