Yes most of the altcoins are based on bitcoins price because ethereum is tether to btc and that is the reason why the market prices are always highly affected every time the price of bitcoins is dropping in the market today.

I highly prefer bitcoins because the market price can grow faster rather than ethereum that is not so popular and it cannot grow immediately so people should invest on bitcoins if they have a decent amount of budget.
I have got a few spare bitcoins.Please suggest a trustworthy site where I can invest them for some profit.
Edit: A lot of posts here are about reminding me to keep holding bitcoin and it is itself an investment. I agree with this but what I meant to ask was the ways to grow my bitcoin holdings. For example, If I have 1 BTC today and I do nothing with it, it will remain 1BTC after 10 years. I wanted to know if there were any legit ways by which we could get profits on our existing bitcoin holdings.

The bottom of bitcoins is $6 dollars and the price is not dropping even more so we can expect higher values in the future, that is the reason why we should hold our coins today and wait for the market prices to pump up again.

"Hodl" is word used to much in crypto space but i think hodl can be dangerous for newbies mostly they will be shilled and hodl a shitcoin or hodl a solid coin for too long and wouldn't sell when time was right you will end up like me as there was time when i could buy tesla now i can only buy honda.
Holding is very necessary in this bear market, if you are not a professional trader then i highly suggest that you should focus on holding your coins and just wait fro the market price to pump up again.

I don't know if I am cursed or something. If I sell a coin now from airdrop/bounty few days later that coins increases much that you will regret selling. If I hold a coin from airdrop/bounty again that coins price decreases much that you will regret not selling right away. I'm confused now whenever I sell the price increases and when I hold the price decreases. Am I cursed? 
You are not cursed, it only happens that you luck patience and you sell your coins at a very early stage, the market is based on supply and demand so obviously the price will always change based on the interest of investors.

The price of altcoin is not based on price of the bitcoins because those new altcoins has their own platform and that is the biggest advantage of altcoins to bitcoins.

You can always invest on any market you think was reliable to hold your coins because there are a lot of people today who are working in the corporate world and holding a huge amount of coins as well.
Hi, I have just registered to get some ideas about good coins to buy and hodl for a long term.
I don't want to invest in coins that are now in a bubble but coins with a real project behind with a promising future and of course increase of its price.
I also don't like to invest in ICO's.
I am watching some projects that have interesting platforms already launched in beta and still don't have much media attention, and still it is easy to get in direct touch with their teams and still are not on big exchanges.
Any tips?

The price of bitcoins will never go down to $3k dollars because there are a lot of people who are interested on cryptocurrency and i believe that $6k is the stable price today in the market.

There is no advice, you should just invest when the market prices are dropping and sell it again when it pumps up, that's how trading works.
Forget about it and do not think too much about those projects. In my opinion, do not think about the past, forget about what happened to us, so you will succeed.
Almost all the bad luck is actually as result of your mistakes and faults so you have to focus on where you did the mistake. If you learnt not to repeat your mistakes then everything will become fine for you and you will be on the way to get profit. Always buy in low market so that you will not face with any kind of loss later after buying it and it will be only profit when you sell in bull market.In my own opinion, if you lose a huge amount of your investments then you should just accept losing money because that's how cryptocurrency works, the price will only grow if the market starts to pump up.
If I lost most of my capital in one coin, I will hold the first to coin it up again, whether it can be called trading or not?

Trading is for people who are patient because the market prices are changing drastically and that is the reason why you should not be selling your coins immediately because of your emotions.
In my opinion, the best time to sell is when the market price of the coin is 20%+ higher than the market price at which you bought the coin. Dont wait till the market price is 95%+ before you sell. That only happens when you got your eyes glues to your machine 24/7. Dont be greedy... Make a little profit and grow it over time. Cryptomarket is growing and full of terror! Be careful
Yes you should not be greedy because the market is depending on supply and demand so you will not be always earning profit in the market, invest only a value that you are capable of losing that is the reason you should not be greedy on cryptocurrency.
