Not trying to cause any problems or anything, but what is the reason to buy these units at this price? Are those interested more getting these for a hobby without concern for if they make back the investment, or am I wrong to think that at these prices, there is no way these will ROI? Just wondering the logic behind it. I was interested in getting one (or a few) but I did the math, and it doesn't make sense. Perhaps my math is wrong. Are these at least in some way profitable? Thanks!

Your math is correct. This price puts them on the same level as the ASICMiner usb's, except that they use less electricity and space.
So the reasons for buying them are the same. These will replace the AM Unit in the market, if supply can keep up.

Okay, yeah that's what it seems like. It is cool you can fit the hashing power of around 7-8 Asicminer usbs in the same size. I've debated getting the usb sticks before but the prospect of knowingly losing money isn't the coolest. Even if they were priced to break even I think it would be nicer to run these. It looks like they would have to be around .5 btc to essentially break even on these devices if they got delivered in october. So if we are talking profit, how many do I have to buy to get them for .4 btc a unit?  Wink

Creative, I believe you are one of the most communicative and capable members around here who run a bitcoin mining related company. Unfortunately, I do not believe that simply buying hardware from 3rd parties in an attempt to maintain network percentage can be profitable in the wake of monstrous difficulty increases. Have you ever considered expanding from simply scouring the internet attempting to find cheap 3rd party hardware to actually taking the step in taking part in the manufacture of your own ASICs?

Related to this post, I was wondering what your plans are for the future in terms of keeping the dividends similar to current returns? I'm not really asking "how" you plan on doing it (that's a whole separate task) but  more so do intend to keep dividend payouts similar to today's rates? I know there are no guarantees, and I'm not asking for one but it would be nice to know if what you say in your business statement on the site about maintaining shareholder value directly relates to dividend rates. If that's the case, I feel great about investing with your company. We really only need to worry about keeping up with the difficulty, but that's not too hard.   Wink

I recently bought some shares for BASIC-MINING and I wanted to say that I agree with your strategy and business plan, CreativeX. I know you just got a site set up, but if you ever need any help in the web area, let me know. I would love to help. I'm looking forward to see what happens when all these ASICs ship and what you decide to do.

Are there still 9 shares left? I may buy a share. I have to look into it a bit more and do my own research.

This reminds me of my days in Middle School when I would complete "offers" and get a small amount of cash. I actually managed to get a 20 dollar check sent in the mail, which was pretty cool for being in middle school. I think getting bitcoins though seems cooler, mostly because the potential for the price to go up even more is still there. It would be interesting to talk to the people who used these back when bitcoins were only a few dollars. They could potentially have dozens of bitcoins from these faucets. Anyway, I'm going to check out your plugin more and see if I can get some bitcoins Wink Thanks!

I feel these restrictions help limit, as mentioned above, spam accounts who post in the marketplace and other parts of the forum such as the group buys section.
