1. Can I keep using the old wallet now until I install the new one?
2. I do need to sync to the network (I've been afk for a week) before transferring the coins to an exchange, right?
3. Should I just send the coins to an exchange, then install the new wallet, then transfer from the exchange to that wallet?  Huh Grin

I installed each wallet on a different computer. I wouldn't recommend installing both on the same computer just to be safe, but I don't know for certain. I would do it the way you are suggesting if you only have one computer available.

Okay, I will do it my way in a few hours unless someone can give a better suggestion..

Tor itself has a known security vulnerability on exit nodes.

What security vulnerability? Tor is has almost never the weakest link. I feel like that FAQ is making a lot of claims and not many sources are given.

Bud you need to keep up. NSA has backdoored TOR and the last SR bust apparently came from leaky ip codes.

That might be true, however it has not been proven. What they mean is that a Tor exit node (which anybody can set up) can be easily sniffed by performing a man in the middle attack, stealing your data.

You guys are taking a small piece of information without actually understanding the technology and assuming a lot. Yes Tor exit nodes are CAPABLE of being sniffed but that is by design. This problem is easily mitigated by using HTTPS (or other solutions).

There is no proof for this claim and its more likely that they messed up somewhere else, there were a lot easier points of weakness than Tor.

Oh come on, what are you doing, trying to defend Tors security? Its not secure at all.
It was created by the US army and the US government is the main donor to the project still.
2+2 equals...
Edit: I will ignore this discussion as its not BAY related.

Hi Everyone

Hope everyone had a great weekend. The FAQ is being formatted right now by the lads in Taiwan and will be added on to the OP post in the next hour or so. It is several pages long, so they may choose to post it as a follow up post to avoid the wall of text effect. It will also be available as a dedicated section of the new website, which will be launching Wednesday.

thanks

BitBay Team

Nice! :thumbs up:

New website for Marketplace or replacement of bitbay website?

New BitBay website obviously, the marketplace release time hasn't been announced yet...
Anyway, thanks for the update, exciting!  Cheesy

This type of valuation will require real success of the platform. Dave and BitBay Team, the ball is in your hands.
I'm really curious about what the future brings.

We really appreciate those kind words!

We've compiled a bit of information about some of the core team members behind BitBay. We will always listen to the concerns of our supporters and we feel deeply honored to have such intelligent investors with us at the ground level.

Team Member Bios:

David Zimbeck - USA / Cambodia - Born and raised in Los Angeles, California and currently living in Cambodia. David is a long time cryptography & bitcoin community member and widely respected developer / creator of Black Halo technology for BlackCoin. He is the lead developer of the BitBay Project and our development team manager. He also enjoys a good game of chess.

Rick K. - New York, New York - Private sector entrepreneur and online marketplace expert. Rick is our mainland China liaison with Alibaba.com. Rick has signed an NDA and therefore the public scope of his involvement with BitBay will reflect that agreement. Rick is coordinating the integration of established vendors into the marketplace.

Jay Lin - United Kingdom - American born and raised in the United Kingdom. Jay Lin grew up in London, earned his computer science degree from University College London and has spent much of his career there, but his family roots are in Taiwan (ROC). Speaking several asian languages and culturally fluent in Asian business methods and etiquette, Jay is head of marketing and brand management for BitBay.

Edward (Eddie) - Korea - Web development. Eddie is our master geek, fluent in multiple programming languages and especially talented in engineering large user account systems. Ed is a long time fan Kung Fu movies (Bruce Lee). He loves philosophy and anthropology.

Nicos - Russia - Crypto enthusiast since 2012. Computer science degree. Marketing experience. Nicos earned his cred in the rough and tumble years of the new Russian capitalism, and has ties with some major bitcoin payment processors. Nicos is also governed by a nondisclosure agreement that limits his public profile. Dog lover. Serial Entrepreneur.

Holly - Taiwan - Manufacturing, Factory management, Connections with top Alibaba vendors. Holly comes from one of Taiwan's most deeply rooted commercial families and has over 20 years experience with sourcing western production in Chinese factories. She also holds a NDA agreements with several online marketplace companies. Her most recent specialization has been mass production of cellphone accessories including iPhone cases. Holly found her way to us through her latest venture, supplying bitcoin ATM’s to Taiwan and Mainland China.

Profile images coming soon.

I had completely missed the bios of the team until this article.
I'd say this is a post very much worth bringing up again. Nice to see more information of the team!  Cool

Edit: by the way I'm building a file of general information on BitBay, article links and such that gets released

I'll update it as things go!

@Bitbay

We are all BTCtalk junkies and seen what works or not. Why not open up a suggestion board to see what things the community can come up with to make Bitbay the best?

This would be awesome. Maybe one day?  Smiley

http://www.examiner.com/article/bank-deposits-will-soon-no-longer-be-considered-money-but-paper-investments

"On Sunday in Brisbane the G20 will announce that bank deposits are just part of commercial banks’ capital structure, and also that they are far from the most senior portion of that structure. With deposits then subjected to a decline in nominal value following a bank failure, it is self-evident that a bank deposit is no longer money in the way a banknote is. If a banknote cannot be subjected to a decline in nominal value, we need to ask whether banknotes can act as a superior store of value than bank deposits? If that is the case, will some investors prefer banknotes to bank deposits as a form of savings? Such a change in preference is known as a "bank run."

Each country will introduce its own legislation to effect the ‘ bail-in’ agreed by the G20 this coming weekend.

Large deposits at banks are no longer money, as this legislation will formally push them down through the capital structure to a position of material capital risk in any "failing" institution. In our last financial crisis, deposits were de facto guaranteed by the state, but from November 16th holders of large-scale deposits will be, both de facto and de jure, just another creditor squabbling over their share of the assets of a failed bank." - Zerohedge

This is.. massive. I can't really express how I feel about this, just shocked. Though not really, since these people have been working to enslave the masses for so long, they are just ramping it up.
They know that the real crash is coming soon.

1. How much would it take for BAY to get to 1$ value? Just multiply the current marketcap by enough?
2. Why do some coins start at much higher BTC value such as 0.00001BTC for example?
Noobish questions..

Well the marketcap would have to rise to $1 billion for the coin price to be $1. And it would be 2nd to bitcoin. That's going to take a little bit of time. Lol.
The reason some coins start at a higher price has to do with a lot of variables. This coin has a billion coins in total so the price should be relatively low compared to other coins with a small supply. But the amount of capital raised and the development team are going to affect that price as well. The amount of marketing done beforehand can really pump up the perceived value, look at Ethereum.

Thanks Tongue

Could somebody try to explain to me why oh why would anybody sell so low after getting in on the ICO for at least 250sat?
My head is about to explode from trying to reason that. I know, panic sellers, but that doesn't explain the shear stupidity!
