That's weird but I also remember that there were an announcement that told there is going to be 4 parts. Maybe the author has changed his mind?
Bytecoin reddit says that there are 4 parts http://www.reddit.com/r/BytecoinBCN/comments/2fu7on/mysteries_and_puzzles_behind_the_cryptonote/
However this topic contain a link to the Coinsource website and guess what?   Coinsource website let us know that there are only three parts

If I was a developer, I would always conceal my personal details at least for security reasons. I'm concerned about possible persecution by the government and abuse by hackers.

Just an observation. I've seen several people trying to throw shade on Bytecoin using developer's anonymity as an argument.
Why in this world would anybody tell their real names when the coin is anonymous, moreover it's all about anonymity? As @Levis said before, staying anonymous is safer

Bytecoin in its current form was not created and publicly released in 2012. I was around...it was no where to be found.

Be wary when considering investing in this coin.
If so, would you please share a list of coins you recommend investing in?

Mining Bytecoin is profitable today, isn't it?
Of course,  Mining Bytecoin is profitable. If it didn't bring any benefit, then it wouldn't be such a huge community that supports this currency

We're not huge yet... still got space for growing  Wink
But seriously, i mine BCN and have no compliants.

Do you mine GPU as well? I used to mine with Claymore.

exactly.

Overview of the recent Bytecoin network performance updates:  http://bytecoin.org/news

Discussion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=718834

Ok, it's great that we have everything listed and explained in detail. Makes it so much easier for an average user.
Special thanks to developers for increasing the sum, which can be transferred through the simplewallet.

It seems that there is someone out there with an enormous amount of hashing power.

This screencap is taken from Minergate.

So there is at least one person that controls more hashing power than the whole Bytecoin hashrate. This makes Bytecoin quite insecure to use at the moment (not to speak from the other low hashrate cryptonote alts).

Also since there is a pool with more than 51% hashrate, we are effectively using a central authority, not a decentralized network.
I would advice everyone hashing at bcn.extremepool.org to swap to a smaller pool for the good of the network.

One more reason to start supporting smaller pools.

We are betatesters in real-time. Why do not you do betatesting before releasing of such important update? I think it worked fine with previous major update. ... At least from my view.

From my view this is a minor mistake of out devs, but c'mon, give them credit for the biggest update in CN coins history!

This is what I am talking about "minor mistake" which should be discovered before releasing. I am not affected too much personally but maybe pool's admins have more headache. I know that devs do great job but these small issues are maybe pity because this is something which do not show BCN in good light... in short time. I trust that the future will be shiny.

Message for DEVS please do not be pushed by us.. users. :-) Take time what you need.

Problem solved  Smiley

The fact the they chose twitter as the main platform for news may seem weird, but i accept it. Guess now  i have to get an account there.

Twitter is not the main platform, read this

You can read news at the official Bytecoin website: http://bytecoin.org/ or at the community website: http://bytecoiner.org/

So to get all the news i now have to get twitter? i hate twitter, it’s stupid. Why not to post news here??

Because this thread is for discussion and the actual bytecoin news get lost in our posts.  Don’t worry. I’m sure all the significant news will be reposted here by the members of our community an you won’t miss anything.

One of the reasons why I mine Bytecoin is that it require less energy to mine this coin than Bitcoin.
So, Bytecoin is more ecological coin than BTC. IMO, it's an important advantage in the area when environmental issues have risen to the fore

Agree

Well, nowadays Bytecoin is like Bitcoin in 2009 - it's up to date coin which is true anonymous and recently have got more user-friendly interface with gui wallet.

Technology evolves over time and now there is CryptoNote Technology with its ring signature and private keys which make transactions even more anonymous. Indeed, BCN became more friendly to new users as gui wallet has appeared.

Do you know there is "Cryptonite XCN is the new software for completely anonymous and untraceable transactions" ??

Is that wallet legit?  Don't see much info about it anywhere else.

Edit: Crashes upon opening

It looked legit at first.. but then the developers faced some issues and now it looks like they took a break. It's sad though, we definately need a wallet like this. I hope they will continue the development process and son we will be able to use their wallet. (and i'm not calling it by name, because the name of this wallet remains one of the main issues)

Anyhow, let's wait and see what happens next. Cryptonite XCN account hasn't been around for a week or so.
