I'm thinking 10000 coins for a masternode. 0.25 coins as reward for every block. 1 block per min. 1440x0.25=360 coins per day / 131.4k per year. (3% inflation of current supply over year).
Does the code/fork you're working on allow POS? Idealy POS and masternodes will keep as much coins off the market as possible. Maybe 0.17 coins per block. Another 2% inflation. POW also works. I don't know which works better with masternodes.

5% inflation or less in total seems reasonable.

Is there a release date for the new blockchain/swap? Can we discuss what features it should have to make it attractive to buy?

I'm having trouble syncing with the new wallet. Was offline for 1-2 weeks. Is there a snapshot so I can get it up to date?

Hi westloin. Sorry you are having issues with your Sterlingcoin wallet again and sorry for the slow response. I do find it peculiar that this problem is repeating for you. Especially with the new wallet that does have the new and proper seednodes hard coded. I run various Sterlingcoin wallets locally (faucet, personal, ect) and never face the difficulties you have, certainly not nearly as often. My first thought is some network misconfiguration but, I know you are a long standing member of the Sterlingcoin community and would have crossed this bridge already long ago. To help you diagnose the repeating issue, can you tell me more about the situation? Specifically, does the wallet establish any connections and later drops them? Or does it seem to never find any in these situations?

At any rate, I have made and tested a new snapshot at block height 746004. I am still, as of the time of this writing, uploading this new snapshot. Please give me 2 hours for that upload to complete as my Internet connectivity is rather poor and it will take that long. As soon as the upload completes, I will edit and add a link to this post.

Again, sorry you are experiencing these repeating issues, westloin. I do hope the new snapshot will be found useful and, with a little investigation here or in the slack perhaps, we can get to the root cause.

Cheers!

Just opened the wallet again. It went up to 8 connections for a while and now it's down to 2 only. I'm also staking.

I suspect the other 6 nodes disconnected from you, perhaps for your wallet "misbehaving". This could be from your copy of the blockchain being in an unintentional fork or trying to submit incorrect block height PoS blocks. The new snapshot will solve this, http://Sterlingcoin.org/SterlingcoinSnapshotAt746004.zip (~500 MB)

In the future, you may find it helpful to only enable staking after your wallet is fully synced. You can disable staking by leaving the wallet locked or using "staking=0" in your sterlingcoin.conf file.

I tried the new snapshot but more than half my balance was missing and the rest was 99.9% unconfirmed. I resorted in using the previous bootstap and now wallet is fully synced, got 18 connections and all coins are present and accounted for. No idea why this is sill happening to me.

Hey Steven, I like what you did with the statistics overview. Very convenient. 21 connections, not too bad.

Hey Steven,
having trouble syncing again after having my wallet closed for a couple of weeks.
Is there an updated bootstrap I could use?

Will you be releasing binaries for the linux wallet?

Hi Sterlingcoiners,

Sorry for the delay in getting a roadmap out. Some personal matters have allowed very little time to focus on it this past week. Please know it will be presented to the community as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.

Hey Steven, I'm having trouble again. I had my wallet closed for a few days and when I start it again it won't sync. It's trying hard to stake or sync, it goes forward a few blocks and at some point remaining blocks seem to increase.
The bootstrap you provided, just to be sure, is for replacing the blk0001.dat file, right? I tried it with a clean installation but it doesn't work, starts from block ~700k.
I also tried a clean install, let it sync and only replaced the wallet.dat file afterward but only a quarter of my coins show up.
How do I prevent it from staking when I start the wallet, I'd like to try it, see if it helps. You mentioned putting in the config file 'staking=0'. Is that file config.ini because I've already tried it but nothing.
I can't figure it out Sad.

SLG will most likely be delisted from bittrex in a couple of days, right? What's the price for listing it back again?

My wallet seems to update slowly, version 1.5.1.1 and like 38000 blocks behind, currently been getting maybe 1000 blocks per day Sad

Had a similar problem. The way I resolved this was to do a fresh installation of the wallet.

1. Make sure you saved a copy of your wallet.dat file first before proceeding.
2. Remove the sterlingcoin folder from AppData\Roaming (assuming it's a windows installation)
3. Make a fresh installation. (Links for the wallet can be found in the first post).
4. Replace the wallet.dat in the newly created sterlingcoin folder with a copy of the wallet.dat file you saved from your previous wallet.
5. Start the wallet and let it update/sync. It will take a few hours.

This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Friday, January 27th 2017 unless the average daily trade volume for the last 14 days exceeds 0.5 BTC. If you would like to keep the market listed, please encourage the development team to contact us at support@bittrex.com.

Thank you for the update. With a dedicated new team hopefully 2017 will be the year for Sterlingcoin. Lets not drop the ball this time.

Also I'd like to thank you for helping me resolve the problem I had with my wallet. I transferred all my coins temporarily to Bittrex, uninstalled the wallet, made a fresh installation and transferred the coins to my new wallet. It's been a few days now without a problem. CPU usage is under 1%

I've sent a small amount to bittrex and it successfully went through soon after.
Then I sent a big amount and still 8 hours later nothing arrived at bittrex. My wallet says Status: 110 confirmations

I can't work with my wallet. It's almost always in a 'Not Responding' status and it's only not frozen only for a few moments when staking the whole amount.
I select from the options most of the amount to reserve and not participate in staking and it suddenly unfreezes but unfortunately it's still trying to sync with the network
Always says (out of sync)
It says 4423 blocks remaining and it's stuck there. Yesterday I had the wallet opened for most of the day and it only went down from 4300 blocks remaining to 4200.
Then I closed the wallet and reopened it a minute later and it was back to block 4334. Closed and opened a few times since then and now I'm at 4423 blocks remaining.

I always had heavy cpu utilization since the latest wallet release when staking and my cpu would often throttle.
I always had my wallet staking and only had it occasionally closed for no more than a day until I've decided 2-3 weeks ago to stop staking and have my wallet closed.
At some point after my wallet start having a problem syncing with the network.

Firewall is not blocking the wallet btw. The wallet says 13 active connections with the network and just at this moment I noticed the remaining blocks are up to 4425 from 4423 it was 10 min ago.
