One of the best launches in a while! Devs can't help pools jumping the gun! Mining fine, wallet works (check conf if it doesn't) and rpd's coming in smoothly.

I personally believe the launch and coin were appalling. The value is now dropping so fast that the Devs and mk got their wish to create a perfect example of a pump and dump coin with no innovations.

Kudos to those that made money on it but for the majority, the frustrations of a messy and appalling launch made this coin all but impossible to mine. Added to that it was supposed to be CPU only and 30 mins before it's final launch cudaminer comes along giving some users unheard of hash rates with nvidia cards, the whole thing should serve as an example of everything that's wrong with crypto and the fact that greed and making a quick buck reigns supreme.

Anyways, that's my opinion on it and I doubt I will be agreed with Smiley

Be Interesting to play with this on my 690 when the windows binary is released, don't have the means or the brains to compile it!

Had all sorts of fun getting cudaminer running suitably well with VTC and the 690!

Does anyone have a compiled windows one with the keccak and the recent changes?

I don't know yet, I am waiting for our power meter to arrive to do some calculations. We are running a 1350W Enermax unit, which supposedly is capable of 4 x 290's (though I've not tried it yet). So by that rationale, we are drawing somewhere between 900-1000w of juice.

When our power meter arrives I will post up the numbers and work out what in real terms our power costs are.

cheers mate

depending on what your numbers are it might help me get to the next level.

Power meters finally ordered, finding them in stock was a pain. They'll be arriving Monday Smiley

Hi,

I'm running 5x 290 non x's, 2 are elpdia on a different comp and 3 are hynix on another comp.

The hynix I've gotten @ 472k# for a few days stable before I switched back to multipool, but the elpdia I keep running into stability problems after a day. The wattage on the hynix's I remember being a little bit lower (NMT 10-15 watts) than I usually run regular cgminer. .which runs at 1110w with no undervolting (hynix cards running at 943k#), 92.5% efficient at that load, and 80w on the wattmeter side used by the system with no cards (cpu, mobo, peripherals). So after converting i'm seeing a usage of about 317.58w per hynix card. Using killawatt to measure wattages btw.

Decided to run vertminer while I was responding, so when running it on my hynix 290 non x rig @473k#, I'm seeing 1100 +/- 6watts . . so about 314.5w/hynix 290 on the dc side of the psu. . .about 1.501 k#/watt

Do you know if the cards you're running were elpdia or hynix? I'd like to switch the elpdia rig over to vertcoin but don't want to be tempted into an hour or two of messing w/ configs again and restarting the rig 20-30 times.

I think the first batch of cards we had must be elpida, because the 2nd batch of three GB 290's (exactly the same model purchased a week apart, on an identically specced rig) are getting 450 kh/s which some say makes them likely to be hynix cards. I've not looked into to much becuase both rigs are running so reliably.

Anyone had any problems with the qubit wallet up not syncing, cannot seem to get it sync and just says 2 weeks behind, out of sync? Am I missing something?

Put first 10 node from this http://www.q2c.cc/crawler/peer in config file

Brilliant, thank you, that sorted it Smiley

I am running 4x R9 290x (HIS and Sapphire) - usually get about 3.4Mh on regular scrypt - getting 1.4Mh on scrypt-n

My changes to 'standard' settings are that I am running a TC 25051 and I-18 (usually run 28632 and I-20)

Having some issues with black screens and the rig just locking up - but when it runs it is pretty stable and stays up for most of the day (only had it running about 3 days now)

I had a few stability issues aswell with R9 290's, I found the ideal (for stability), well for me anyway! I-19 and TC @ 24550. This nets me a conisistant 1.288Mh/s over three cards with good temps and 24/7 running.

Initially with I-20 I was getting lockups after 5-6 hours and black screens like you, the above seemed to be my sweet spot for scrypt-n.

The USB riser cables came from China directly, I ordered them in bulk. There's really only one or two suppliers, last I checked.

There are a few guys who sell them on the forum here, you may look around the marketplace a bit and get lucky and find a local seller.

Was this the place: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/PCI-E-PCI-E-Express-1x-to-1X-4x-8x-16x-Riser-Extender-Adapter-Card-with/944387438.html

Here is our rig currently, adding a second machine into the chassis later today. Doing very nicely with temps running from 76-80 on the R9 290's. Had all sorts of fun with the MSI board and the risers (had to downgrade the slots to Gen1 to get it to boot) I also totally failed to get linux working (not got the linux skills sadly) Win 7 64 up and running a breeze tho. Getting about 430kh/s per card mining VTC atm. Chassis allows for 2 rigs, with a i guess enough space for 4 x cards per rig, but sticking to three per rig for now.

Rig design a work in progress, rather like the vertical mount idea with the fan blowing between the cards and board. Your design is very good and allowing a decent level of expansion, did you fabricate it yourself or build it based on existing shelving? Are you running 6 x cards on one board with 2 x PSU's?

I did the very same thing at my work around a year or so back, it was great experience for the farm I'm running now.

It's a very good thing you've hid it, and if you haven't already I would not tell your coworkers what exactly it is you are doing. In a year, they may just be jealous haters, saying you've got preferential treatment...

http://i879.photobucket.com/albums/ab357/pontiacg5_2010/1157c52c-25d5-4e00-8c6e-444046d21f86_zps1c23c408.jpg?t=1390763947

Here is 1/3 of my farm that I've managed to get deployed so far. My rigs love the environment, it stays a steady 60 degrees or so, and my cards stay around 65-70c at the most.

There are 12 290's, 6 280x, and 6 7950 in this picture. Not shown are 12 more 290s I am "proving out" at home, as well as a few other misc cards.

My net hash rate is ~30M  Grin

I am sure this has been asked before, so apologies in advance if it has, where did you get those risers? Stateside? Know of any eu suppliers?

TIA

Win 7 64 Rig with 3 x Gigabyte r9 290 (totally failed to get Linux to work, just haven't got the skills Smiley )

http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2856/12172813925_1003f5987e_o.jpg

Settings for cgminer (so far stable), temps are very stable, have a blower fan just moving the hot air away from the rig, without it they peak at 83c, with the window open (it's a cold day) they peak at 75c Smiley

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt  -o -u -p -I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24550 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 10 -v 1 --auto-fan --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 83 --temp-target 78

Adding another rig tomorrow with the same spec.

Happy mining!

Just upgraded the wallet no probs at all.

Loving this coin, gave up on getting a linux miner working (just haven't got the linux skills!) Win7 miner operation tho with 3 x R9 290's kicking out 430kh/s each, stable since 11amGMT this morning, prior to that mining away at 230kh/s on my nvidia 690, amazing how better these AMD cards are at this work!
